YEAH!

I was there

That guy with the Michigan shirt is right by the tunnel where BSU came out.  In the third quarter there was a "Hello, Heisman!" sighting as Desmond Howard himself stood at the mouth of that tunnel relaxing, chatting and texting.

After a little bit Mr. Howard strolled over and signed the guys jersey for him.

That, my friends, is a cool story.

5. But...

I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, does that help?

Positive

You are not Tiger Woods.

Dang it, you stole my

Dang it, you stole my thunder.

How is Utah ranked ahead of BYU?

Thank you.

Actually, looked like they

Actually, looked like they had the RB covered, our player (LB or DL) had a hand on him. Then when he saw that his d-line was going gangbusters after Pryor, he thought the sack was imminent and let the RB float behind him.

If that player (don't remember which) keeps that RB in front of him like he was probably supposed to, he knocks down that floaty piece of crap pass that Pryor serves up and they go to the FG.

Assignment football - You have the RB, don't let him behind you.

I have been suffering with

I have been suffering with the flu the past 7 days. Let me tell you, the Swine is nothing to joke about. So, when people say that you still have your health, that really, really means something. Relish that thought, let it fill you up:

You still have your health.

(Hey, it was either that or the little song from Dori in "Finding Nemo" - Just keep swimming.)

Ah, you stole my thunder, my

Ah, you stole my thunder, my only comment was going to be about the West Virginia weather. It's the same as Ohio and Pennsylvania, cold, rainy, snowy, nasty.

Everything else...my helmet off to you, sir.

No, but leaders and the best

No, but leaders and the best and all that...

Yes, we must all wander in

Yes, we must all wander in Holiday Delight Cheesecake at some time or another.

I was hoping somebody would

I was hoping somebody would have something about this. That was absolutely an incorrect call. He was flicking the ball up and slightly backwards, at best the ball was even with him as he was sliding forward, plus the amount of time the replay official needed was ludicrous. If you can't see it in two minutes then it is not definitive, let the call stand.

As for running a play, I thought that they did try to run up and get a play off? Maybe I am remembering incorrectly.

Whatever happened to home cooking?

On not calling timeout at the

On not calling timeout at the end of the first half, I wasn't happy about that either.

I think I remember reading that Rich said he wanted to go after the punt but not give them time in case something went wrong (like fumbling the catch, emphasis mine). So he made the decision based on a real reason and not just because he's a bad coach (which he is not, emphasis mine).

At BYU the students used to

At BYU the students used to fling tortillas on the field. Not sure why.

They made the students stop after a few years. Not sure why.

Wait a minute, Leach didn't

Wait a minute, Leach didn't grade out the highest on defense.

RichRod lied.

Well said

I'll just add to the chorus of agreeance (made up word) with this diary.

The Michigan base has been feeling this for ten years, that is why the call for Carr's head would begin right around that inevitable first loss of the season. Even the loss to OSU and subsequent shellacking by USC in '06.

Fraud in this post, in my opinion, refers to the mirage that Michigan was among the top elite programs. I think that this has mostly been due to tradition and an ability to get 9 wins a season and an occasional big win against a top opponent. That keeps the winning percentage up and to some extent perceptions. But then you get the USC assessment, they knew exactly what was coming.

That is what is meant by fraud. It's time to put Michigan back among the elite of the elite, where they are making and winning BCS bowls year in and year out. Here's to 2010.

Great research, thanks for that.

Also, thanks for the shout out to Mormon QB's.

Dileo

Can somebody (Shredder) please MS Paint a winged helmet on that picture of Drew Dileo (and make the other guy a buckeye) and make that the new banner for the website?

You gotta have something

You gotta have something available to start fires.

Robinson

I think that people want to see more creativity with Denard. Instead of him coming in to run up the middle or off-tackle or hand the ball off, they want to see him split out wide or run the option, but something on the field at the same time as Tate.

Personally, I would like to see him run the little pitch play they had going on against Iowa.

Since I think that Rich is a good coach there's probably a reason why they aren't doing this, and I look forward to much wizardry next year utilizing his speed.

But having Denard run in and out of series, bringing the play in from the sidelines would be a good development as far as keeping the opposing defense guessing, IMHO.

GERG

My buddy is a big Broncos fan and said that Michigan needs to get used to the soft play of the corners. He stated that is what drove him crazy with the Broncos D when GERG was there.

Otherwise, thanks for the internet slap to the face to stop the hysterics of unqualified people with keyboards and too much time on their hands.

Pad Level

He also mentioned pad level, that almost brought a tear to my and CoachBT's eye.

Thank you

I was about to get on here and say all the same things.

All the good feelings from the Iowa game got sand kicked in their collective faces. I think the main problem was that I had higher expectations coming into this game and that is why it feels like such a huge step backwards.

I know, freshman, young team, new coordinator, grumble, grumble, grumble. But did they complete a pass in the second and third quarters?

Okay, 24 hours to be ticked off and then it's take a hot shower and get ready for next week.

(It did feel like last year's team sans the first drive, just no hope of getting anything right.)

Okay, I'm done. Really, I'm good.

C'mon, Brian. Buck up sad

C'mon, Brian. Buck up sad panda.

I was actually happy after this game. Not because we lost but because there were many times during that game that I said, "We are that close (holding up a thumb and forefinger about a half inch apart)."

We are a couple of bad safety plays and a few measly turnovers away from winning this. True ninja football is on its way (might just be next year or the following).

You have to be impressed with the line play and the running game. The secondary was going to be scary. If we can get the safeties to play center field and Woolfolk works out at corner, there is much hope to be had.
