Hope he's logging those steps on Fitbit!!!

4 years 48 weeks ago Fellas, you need to get up on Miguel.

If your lady likes R-&-B, then you'll definitely want "Adorn" on the playlist. Up-and-coming singer who writes and produces his own music (fairly rare in r-&-b), but he definitely needs to work on the vert.

7 years 39 weeks ago Wataru Misaka

From Wikipedia:

Wataru "Wat" Misaka (Japanese: 三阪 亙 Misaka Wataru) (born December 21, 1923) is a retired American basketball player. He was the first player of Asian descent and the first non-white person to play in the National Basketball Association (then known as the Basketball Association of America).

7 years 41 weeks ago Here's what Bennett said when speaking to his BigEast audience:
It won't be easy to go and win this game on the road, especially against a team desperate to get off to a good start. But UConn is a veteran team that's ready for this kind of challenge, and it was simply a better team at the end of last season than the Wolverines were. If the game is close, expect Michigan to start doubting itself again. I give an ever-so-slight nod to UConn pulling a very mild upset.

The prose is slightly more pro-UConn on his BigEast blog, but that's not to say he's not raising a good point-- I'm a bit worried about what might happen if UConn jumps out to a lead or comes from behind.

7 years 43 weeks ago The way we've been playing these past few years...

...they could start Satan McLucifer out there and I wouldn't care as long as he remains academically eligible, abides by the rules, and helps us win.

8 years 11 weeks ago When I was about 14...

...I stole several porn magazines from the local Crown Books store. I would've bought them had they let me.

8 years 15 weeks ago An idea for appeasing the Angry Michigan Hating God:

We need a UFR for this game. Offense & defense, all the charts (Moorheadchart?)-- the whole shebang. I'm not superstitious, but tell me that doesn't sound like a nice prelude to a reversal of misfortune.

8 years 23 weeks ago Les may or may not be a "horses's ass"...

8 years 24 weeks ago However long it takes Brian to get home from the game

That's my guess. We should all invest in a remote kill-switch for Brian. That way, he can cut on MGoCurfew mode as soon as the play clock hits zero for bad home losses.

8 years 25 weeks ago Misopogon, please stop!

I can't handle the truth.

Seriously-- excellent read.

8 years 25 weeks ago Excellent read

Thanks for posting the online version.

8 years 25 weeks ago The altercation was after the came...

...but it resulted from what happened before kick-off.

8 years 26 weeks ago From Dr. Saturday, ...

...courtesy of ESPN:

"In the beginning of the game, we were warming up, running on the field and [Clausen's] out there chirping and talking all this trash and he pushed, I think, Justin Jarvis. He just pushed him for no reason, and I just looked at him like, 'What are you doing? Who do you think you are?

"He's just sitting there still talking and then afterward, he was trying to be all friendly. I was like, 'I don't want to hear it now.'

"It just rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like what he did. It just seemed like he was a little fake toward the end of the game because they won. I know if it was the other end of the stick, he'd probably be saying the same thing to me."

I can understand Gunnell's position although I don't know who comes out of that exchange looking better.

8 years 26 weeks ago I would have expected either that response...

...or perhaps "Concentrate and ask again."

8 years 26 weeks ago It brings a whole new meaning to the term...

...BOOM. MALLETTED

8 years 26 weeks ago What was our selection against ND?

I kinda wish we'd given ND the opera music and done something a bit more on the crunk side for Delaware State.

8 years 26 weeks ago Dollars to donuts...

...that Sheridan doesn't even start himself in NCAA 10 when playing with UM. But I still got love for him.

8 years 26 weeks ago On a related note...

...to my mgoBrooklynites (if there are any): I'd love to get a critical mass of us together in the borough of BK for game-watching. Holler if there's any interest.

8 years 26 weeks ago I'm with you on Prof. Thom's

If you're approaching or are over 30, you'll probably find it too crowded. My advice (if you're older): go to Thom's, stand near the door, wait for a handful of 30-something people to walk in and freak out at sheer insanity of the packed bar, and rally a critical mass of them to find a super-lame bar right down the street; the lame bar will probably have no problem with putting on the UM game. That's what I did last year for the UM/Utah opener-- it made the loss suck considerably less.

8 years 27 weeks ago Delaware State Connection?

It seems like posters have been especially reckless in the days leading up to the Delaware State game. I wonder if fans' typical preoccupation with worthier opponents just isn't there this week...leading to all this craziness.

Just an observation.

8 years 29 weeks ago 2007 OSU - Michigan

I saw the first quarter (and our only score) but had to attend a wedding that day.

8 years 30 weeks ago I'm a Wiki-freak, ...

...but I never would've thought "stinger" would've been on there; I didn't think it was that common of a term. Thanks for asking. Having never played organized sports, I was clueless.

8 years 30 weeks ago I love witnessing a good negbang...

...when it's deserved (i.e., highly inflammatory/trollish/etc). I kind of wish they ended with a Sandman-type character coming out to police sirens, doing a little tap dance, and escorting the negee of the internet for a bit (shame on you if you've never seen Showtime at the Apollo).

That said, I find far too many posts/replies on here that get negged for reasons- in my opinion- that are outside the scope of what Brian created the down arrow for.

All I do is +1 posters that were unjustly negged. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it- I'm not trying to be the positive police- but I think its a way to reduce the chance that we alienate people who primarily come here because they love Michigan sports.

8 years 31 weeks ago PS3

I just bought the new PS3 slim a couple of weeks ago. It was a tougher choice (360 v. PS3) when the PS3 was $100 more, but the new slimmer design and lower price point sold me. I'm a very casual gamer, though; serious folks might have a more informed opinion.
