Last year they did. He had 35 yards rushing before he got benched. |

Really Tim? Really? The reason Stevenson lost is because they aren't as good of a team as Howell. The Highlanders have won two straight years against Stevenson - this time with a sophomore QB playing his first game. The real reason Stevenson lost is because Howell is a much better team. |

It is not a sports writers job to say what a coach should or shouldn't have done. Maybe in a column, but not in a story. Writers call out players for doing poor jobs all the time. Less in college but that's so they don't alienate sources. You call out a left guard for playing like shit and see if Rich Rod will talk to you a week later. And you need Rich Rod to talk or you don't get a story and then you have to listen to your editor bitch. |

Still doesn't make it right. And you make it sound like newspapers don't do anything fun. Log onto Freep.com check out the offbeat, the Swami Videos, anything by Steve Schrader, they do funny things too. They make jokes, they poke fun at riots, they don't call their readers dicks. |

Maybe I should have elaborated in my original post. Brian obviously is striving to be a credible journalist. That's why he calls out other writers such as Drew Sharp when they do piss poor job's. That's why he gets things confirmed instead of running with rumors. That's why he tries to beat the competition and get the story out before the newspapers, other bloggers, television stations, etc. If you have read this blog over the last few years it is very obvious Brian strives to be taken seriously and not be lumped together with many of the ill-informed bloggers on the interwebs. Say what you will about newspaper writers, but they don't do those things. It's not a matter of new media versus old media, it's just plain disrespectful to call your readers, and in this case potential customers dicks. All journalists deal with stupid questions, phone calls, e-mails more frequently than anyone out of the business would like to know. So if one e-mail that is off-base about recruiting throws you into a tizzy than journalism is the wrong field. BTW, journalist definition per dictionary.com - someone who keeps a daily log of events. Sounds like a journalist to me. |

Brian, You've worked hard over the years to be considered a credible journalist - so why would you hurt your cause by calling one of your readers a dick? I'm sure if Dave received a mailbag from you at his newspaper - he wouldn't call you a dick. Then again, Dave's a respectable journalist. Apparently, you still have some work to do. And no I'm not Dave. |

Moundros doesn't graduate after this season, per MgoBlue.com Instead it would be 2010. The 2008 roster had him listed as a junior with sophomore eligibility, thus in 2009, he would be a senior with junior eligility and in 2010 a fifth year senior. He must have gotten that red shirt his freshman year. Which is strange because I didn't know walk ons could red shirt. Unless they can and it just isn't done often and Lloyd new he was gonna get a scholarship down the road. |
