But maybe ND announced Collinsworth because it was very obvious when he went out and the ND reporters immediately picked up on it. For whatever reason, no one picked up on the Morgan injury, maybe because he didn't lay on the turf for a while and LB rotates so much people just assumed he was benched in favor of younger guys in a blowout.
But why does that matter? If Hoke has a good reason for not disclosing it, that doesn't change just because ND decides to disclose their injury.
Most of your post makes no sense. We all get why it wasn't disclosed. Why does that mean we can't question anything the coaches do? Do you think maybe we don't question this one because we either don't care or think it's a good idea? Personally, I hope our coaches never disclose any of this stuff. Why? We'll find out soon enough, and if I don't know then it's possible our next opponent doesn't either.

Penn State, who was lucky to beat UCF, is ahead of us. Unbelievable. That's why these polls are stupid.

Better definition: one is made up of people who know but don't pay attention and the other is made of people who pay attention but don't know.

Seriously. There's wrong and then there's charblue wrong.
Beat writers get to know what the people they cover want them to know. That's the nature of the job. If Hoke doesn't want his opponents to know a certain bit of information, I hope he doesn't say it to the press.

Yeah, he pronounced "devotee" differently than I do. But I'm not gonna tell someone else how to pronounce their own name.
|1 day 2 hours ago||Yes, Norfleet is fast. He||
Yes, Norfleet is fast. He was a track star in high school, and you don't do that by being quick. To run even the 100 well you need to have good top end speed.
He might not have crazy speed, but he's probably faster than all of our receivers save Chesson.

I liked the first De'Veon Smith TD run, the one without Kalis. It just looks like when he's about 10 yards out or so he decided he was scoring, put his head down, and made it happen.

Um, Tom Brady is the best QB ever.

This video reinforced what I felt after watching the game - and that's that Smith is the better back. Green had about twice as many touches, but it looked like more of Green's runs did nothing compared to Smith. Smith had fewer runs go nowhere and more yards after contact. Against better defenses where the holes are smaller, I think Smith will be the better option.

I'm not sold on Hackenberg yet. I bet as an upperclassman he'll be one of the best QBs in the league, but not so much yet. Everyone looks at that huge yardage total, but be couldn't punch it in. He was great between the 20s, but that was mostly because his receivers got wide open, and then when they got close he couldn't make it happen. UCF is a decent team, but they don't have defenses like M, MSU or OSU.
|1 day 22 hours ago||It would likely boil down to||
It would likely boil down to how many teams in that 20-30 range get upset next weekend. ND would drop below us for sure, and 15 SC plays @ 11 Stanford, so one of them will fall as well. And I think we'll be ahead of Washington tomorrow because they had a tough time with a bad Hawaii team.
My guess would be more like 20 if we win, again, depending on how other games shake out.

So, obviously I did. That was educational. Whenever you think to yourself "that can't be a thing, right?" it's probably a thing.
EDIT: Similarly, don't google "goatse." It was mentioned in the urban dictionary definition for Lemon Party. I didn't know what that was, and I wish I stil didn't.

|5 days 7 hours ago||I think a good handful of the||
I think a good handful of the guys you mentioned would be better. If Sark hadn't been the OC at USC before, he wouldn't be the slightest bit considered and SC people would be furious. There are at least a solid handful of accomplished coaches who would leave their current gig for the kind of money SC throws around. Hell - they gave Kiffin 4mil a year and he hadn't done anything. Would a coach with actual accomplishments get 6? I don't see why not, and many guys would leave their job for 6 million and a chance to coach USC.
To be more specific - both PSU and Washington hired better coaches this past offseason than SC did, and who knows who might have left if the check was big enough. Art Briles is another name I'd consider.
EDIT: And my post above wasn't saying whether or not SC had better options when they hired Sark. Maybe they really didn't. But the poster I replied to said he liked what Sark did at Washington, and that's what I was refuting. Because he didn't really do much.

In order of suckiness, from most to least:
Rudy the player, Rudy the person, Rudy the movie. The movie still sucked though, as anything about Notre Dame tends to do.

No way man, I like to pick the side that makes SC look bad, and worry about the information as it comes out. Then I can change my mind, if I want to.
So Sark, and likely his entire coaching staff as well as most of the SC student body, is brutally racist. Well, that last part might be true, actually.

I've read this post a number of times now, and I think you have too many negatives. I think you mean to say that if you never hear it again, it will be too soon. Right?
|5 days 7 hours ago||Sark didn't do a whole lot at||
Sark didn't do a whole lot at Washington. He turned them from awful to decent pretty quickly, but never took them beyond that. I'm still surprised USC hired a guy who hasn't been a HC at a high level at any point yet. I don't mean at a high level school, I mean coaching the school at a high level.
Last year was his best season, and he still didn't beat anybody. Unless you count unranked BYU in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Not exactly a guy a program like SC should be looking at.

Armenians are most certainly considered Caucasian, so I don't think that's a good point to make.

Sure, but you can blame someone at USC (may or may not be Sark) for running with the story before doing the slightest amount of fact checking.

They recruit comparably to us. Which means quite well, but also doesn't mean everything. 4 star recruits, before they're ready, aren't usually very good. Experience usually outweighs talent, but to be a "good" player you need some combination of both.

I'm officiating a JV game tonight between Hart High School in Newhall, CA (school where Brady White plays) and somebody else. Might be some D1 guys not on varsity yet I can scout. Though as a new official I'll probably just be concentrating on my job.

Exactly - I'm the same way. I'm in such a zone during those games that if they switched to Japanese halfway through, it would take me a few minutes to realize.

"I was wrong to lie about this. I will not, however, be telling the real story." Basically.
EDIT: Also interesting how a kid from Palmdale, one of the lowest income areas of greater LA, has the money for an attorney like that. Unless he's an SC alum and is giving the kid a price-break, but that could be seen as a booster giving benefits to a player. Huh.
EDIT 2: No educational ties to USC. From NY, Yale undergrad, JD/MBA from Columbia.

I agree with you. This goes double if you live in Southern California where there are pools everywhere and a goddamned ocean.
We put both of our boys in swim lessons at 6 months, and our oldest could jump in the deep end and swim across the pool before he turned 4. So many of their friends will have pools or boats or will go to the beach that it seemed like a no-brainer to us.
