Bigfoot IS a blurry dude,…

Bigfoot IS a blurry dude, Mitch Hedberg was right! That is because they are transdimensional. You do not go into the forest looking for a Yeti, you go into trance and the Yeti finds you.

There is an awesome lecture on the Yeti from a transpersonal conference in the early aughts. I couldn't find the lecture, but there is a song the samples the lecturer, www.youtu.be/W6sckN4loVE

Thank you! 552879
Hard to tell for sure...

But from the pictures in this post it looks like Coach Mattison walked right past Brandon to give Coach Hutchinson I big hug, while Brandon stood by akwardly patting him on the back...

I always do!

I always do!

H.O.P.E.

I'm rocking the H.O.P.E. hat daily out in California, I am asked to explain what it stands for at least once a day by a random stranger.

Cross Cultural Awareness...

I was told that the reason it is offensive is because it is an Eurocentric term.  Oriental meaning east of Europe.  Also, lumping an entire cardinal direction of people into one category is kind of offensive in general considering the incredible diversity of culture in Asia.

From wikipedia - "The Orient means "the East". It is a traditional designation for anything that belongs to the Eastern world or the Near East or Far East, in relation to Europe"

I rarely post...

But I logged in to thank you for bringing the knowledge full force.  Consider me more conversant in the world of terraria.

at least the number one jersey doesn't have a tacky patch on it. How would we feel if Desmond Howard and Chuck Woodson were not establishing their own legacy numbers but living up to someone else's? I for one think most jersey numbers at Michigan have an amazing legacy of multiple players. We should definitely honor past players, legacy jerseys is not good option imhe. /Dave Brandon only understands marketing
I have heard similiar...

I will not speculate or get into specific organizations, but the backwaters of the internet are full of people claiming to have been abused as children.  Mostly in ritualistic fashion by people in very powerful positions in various institutions both public and private.

The website I read that linked to the information concerning this topic dispeared over night and the youtube users accounts were shut down.  Creepy.

Tip of the iceberg indeed.

Whoa whoa whoa

Please don't speak for everyone, some of us loved the White Stripes and Seven Nation Army before it was blasted at every sports venue in America.

Added

Shigeto - Ann Arbor Parts 3 + 4

RJD2 - Ghostwriter

Claude Von Stroke - Who's Afraid of Detroit?

David Starfire - Juuteeya

Not sure if this is the exact vibe you are going for, but I for one will be drinknig to these songs come September 1st!

Yep

I knew there was a reason I felt compelled to check MgoBlog one last time before hitting the sack.  Thank you Thorin for your diligence with these presser/practice videos. It is much appreciated by the football starved masses.

In Hoke we trust

Until proven otherwise, I will assume Hoke knows what he is doing.  He knows his players well, I bet he is trying to stir the fire within, when they are back they will play with even more hunger.

Many jobs are not career choices but necessities. Maybe it is just because I am broke, but the elitism on this board is annoying me.
You tip because you are having someone else do it for you. That seems pretty obvious to me. I would love to start a restaurant where the patrons have to deal with the chefs. Good luck getting out of the kitchen with your ego intact.
Be careful... The economy is not as great as it seems. People with good undergrad degrees are being forced to work menial jobs, if grad school is not an immediate option. I have a University of Michigan degree and I am struggling to find any job. Sometimes people work shitty jibs to pay bills while working toward bigger goals. Let's try to be Michigan Men and show some compassion for those who are still struggling. The jokes demeaning blue collar jobs reflect more negatively on you than they do the worker of said job.
Right....

Nevermind, keep reading.  Magnus is called out properly a bit lower on the thread.

I believe that you are thinking of...

Antelope Antiques

Bonobo is great...

...but my all time favorite electronic album is...

Shpongle - Nothing Lasts but Nothing is Lost

It isn't for everyone, but I can tell you without hesitation that if it resonates with you it will change your life.

Shpongle = next level

Wow

Simply awesome, they are thoroughly wired into the mgomemes.  I like the two hearted they are drinking toward the end, nice Michigan touch.

Chai for me...

from scratch, perfect as I sit on my porch on this dreary ann arbor day and listen to the sounds of the stadium echoing through the trees.  I love spring in the ace deuce.

You may have been right a few years ago... but I am sitting on my porch looking at the big house whilst in shorts and a T-shirt. It is beautiful here this spring.
I was there...

the upper deck was almost empty, if they sold out then a ton of people decided to not use their tickets. I'd say less than 20,000 butts in seats.

20ish percent?

Twenty percent is the American standard. Rounding up is just plain courteous. Can you tell I tend bar?
/biased.

that house

is owned by a guy named ray. He is a retired mail man and expert gardener. He lives a half a block from me. May actually be the world's nicest person.

pop evil

is certainly not welcome in the big house, i will boo if brandon puts them on the field

agreed

unless you are TOB or a close confidant of his, you have no idea what he is dealing with. All I know is that your conjecture is unproductive at best and harmful and judgemental at worst. If you have no idea what depression feels like, please stop offending those who, unfortunately, do.

walk-ins are now $14...

if you pay in cash (earth coin of the fibrous variety). $16 if you use a card.

Life is a gigantic metaphor...

All things reflect this, including Michigan football.  In order to fully appreciate the highest of heights you have to have been to the lowest lows.  Increase your awareness of both potentials.  It'll make our future naitonal championships that much sweeter to have watched every agonizing second of the building process.  I was 13 when we won in '97, I remember thinking that it would be a common occurence.  Having watched Michigan Football for 20 years I can now more fully put that championship into context and realize how special it truly was.

Negative emotions are rough, but everything happens for a reason, so watch every single second of Michigan football this season and all those to follow, or else your emotional ecstacy will not be as potent when the time comes.

Also this is a good reason to have continued watching the Lions over the last decade plus.

Thanks for the warning!

I'll wait to click on it til tomorrow, I should be back to level by then.  Also, why am I on the computer in this state? I'm headed to the arb... Maybe I'll walk by the stadium on my way :-)

the campaign to save 418!

We collected over 100 letters and several pieces of art and photography inspired by the class and assembled it into a binder. We started with the Provost and ended up going all the way to Mary Sue before being passed all the way back down to the Provost. We eventually got our request granted, but seeing behind the scenes of the university budgeting process was not pretty. kudos to Provost Sullivan for finding the money to keep the Mann around.

seconded, lassiter's the man!

excellent class, i wrote my final paper on the drug war.

My all time favorite though is Psychology of Spritual Development with Dick Mann (Psych 418). That class forever changed my way of being. Prof Mann's Psychology and Consciuosness class was eye-opening as well.

i know we are all angry...

but i feel like you could replace OHL with michigan and michigan with Tsio and we would have a relatively close replica of the kyle kalis threads from the blogs down south.

the kid is young and trusting bad people, he doesn't know better.

My HS GPA...

was based on me skipping class... a lot. The 3.8 came when I actually cared what my grades were.

The reason it is easier to get in as a transfer during winter, spring or summer sessions, is because they have a smaller applicant pool for those semesters.  My admissions counselor highly recommended applying to a non-traditional semester.

I'm a good test taker, but i hate homework, hence the drastic difference between GPA and ACT.  I used my "extra" section on my application to explain my high school GPA and coinciding teen angst/rebellion.

I transferred

into UM my junior year. I had a 3.0 GPA in high school with a 34 ACT, and was accepted pending final semester grades, which were atrocious.  I went to a smaller school and brought my GPA up to a 3.8 and they accepted me after that.  Keep in mind that only 60 credits can transfer, so don't transfer too far down the line or you will lose some of the work you put in.

I have also had friends with much lower GPA and test scores get in.  Transferring in is way easier than applying right out of high school, especially if you apply to a nontraditional starting semester (aka not fall)

Good Luck!!

Happy Hash Bash!!

The popularity of the event has gone in phases. It had been getting smaller for awhile, but with the advent of medical marijuana has enjoyed a recent resurgence.  Today's was the biggest I have seen in awhile.  I work at a bar on State Street and the entire place smelled like chronic.

The customers who just happened to come to town not knowing about it were shocked how many people there were.

Great Recommendation

First off, Netflickers is the shiz.  For serious movie watchers nothing compares.  Second, Chasing the Phantom was well worth staying up til 4:30am to watch.  Any Michigan athletes with a lack of drive and enthusiasm needs to watch this documentary to learn how to channel their inner Wolverine.

A single Wolverine can take down a moose, that would be comparable to a house cat taking down a deer.  I've never been prouder to have the Wolverine as our mascot.

I started college at Michigan...

roughly 30 years after Robinson and the diversity that attracted him to U of M held for me as well.  Hail to the expansion of the mind upon opening itself to new possibilities.

The lesbians and Jews are awesome too.

I'm a little shocked by

the number of Iowa fans who predicted a Denard injury, not very classy.

I'm also somewhat surprised by their relatively civilized use of the English language, well done Iowans.

It is an MSU thing

Their inferiority complex and need to maintain an egocentric sense of importance, leads them to excessive attention grabbing gestures.

It is tempting to hate them for it, but that would be giving into my own ego, so I choose to feel sorry for them.  They remind me of the Harley riders from Southpark.

hahahahaha

No wonder you are nearly -50 points.  That kid is laughable (compared to Coney, not compared to me)

And also...

validate our contributions to MgoBlog, right?

(beveled guilt trip)

I concur

Ashley's and Brown Jug are better than Rick's and Charley's. Anyone who disagrees is probably a fratboy married to a sorostitute.

I'm guessing you were thinking

he should change it to something that was not himself...

I will take the tickets

At least our secondary

Let's go Blue!

As a state street restaurant employee...

I say please,  lure in the suburbanites to line my pockets with cash.  As far as the art, most of the art is decent, some is brilliant, some is unoriginal and cliche.  Possibly due to a few off years in the art market, I have noticed more and more merchant booths, selling cheap perfume from China...lame.
