Anyone notice the number?

I think the craziest thing is that this is analysis No. 3295.   He's currently up to No. 3577.   That's pretty insane all by itself.   He must not be a very busy person.  Also this guy was probably obsessed with the show "Lie to Me".

this is why nepotism fails. the father you get from the ruler who was actually successful, the more the gene pool fails you. start from scratch.

And now...

I am at the jug. Life is good.

I have no idea why this is.

For some reason, it seems like people (including Ace) are thinking Clemson now.

He has already grown.

Word.

Fair enough.

I know you weren't taking a shot at me.  I just know that Kaplan spends more money on research than the other big brands of test prep.  That's why I really like their practice tests.  When I took the MCAT, I felt like I had seen all the questions already.  I actually never went to med school when all was said and done.  I just did really well on that test and I liked Kaplan's style.  It worked for me.

Ummm....

Kaplan has way better practice tests.  Princeton focuses way too much on content and way too little on actual test prep.  If you don't know the material well at all, I'd go Princetone.  If you're fairly good to start with, go Kaplan.

Well I was planning on

Well I was planning on graduating in 3 years.  At the time they only offered 2 MCAT's a year, and the scores casm slowly.  Doing that allowed me to have my scores in plenty of time to start looking for schools in the winter of what was essentially my junior year. It gave me an advantage.  Also I had just taken Orgo, and  AP Bio and AP Chem as a senior in high school. I took the first half of physics that spring and taught myself the second half over the summer.  All the topics were fresh.  Another year wasn't really going to give me a lot.

Alright...I'm not one to do this.

I hate to be a brag, but I'm going to brag.  I got a 38 when I took the MCAT after my freshman year at UofM.  The way I did this, aside from knowing my shit, was by taking the Kaplan MCAT course.  I recommend highly as I was also an MCAT teacher for a while for Kaplan.  They are the best by some margin.

My main piece of advice other than using Kaplan is that you should always look at the answers.  By that I mean that whenever you get something wrong (and ideally for every question), you should look at the reasoning blurb they give for the question.  You need to learn to think like the test writers.  Focus on taking practice tests...short and full length.  Then focus on reading the answer blurbs.

Advice and brag over.

WolvinLA can vouch for all of this.

Good.

I'm happy to see that this got sufficiently shot down.

This seems....not right.

I don't think the world would function very well if all everybody was doing was "making" things.  There are other required functions.  Furthermore, most of the things mentioned in that article that you could "make" are internet-related.  I'm not sure everybody having a blog or a youtube channel is all that sustainable.  Is there a future where we can all just read each other's blogs?

it's gus time

#gusforeva

I am enthusiastic.

Call me maybe.

Again?

Every damn peppers thread you say this.

Personal tradition tonight.

I call it trashy nerd night.  I purchase few 40's of something trashy (by common definition although I cast no judgement) and a pack of smokes.  Then I watch lectures/discussions/debates on YouTube.

Tonight:  2 40's of Mickey's and this lecture will be the primary feature:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OLz6uUuMp8

It's like cricket.

This game will go on for days.

Michigan wins

5-0.  Advanced to tomorros game without giving up an out for the weekend yet.

Welcome.

I do not think it is.  The other semi was not televised.

Apparently it's just you and me watching this bud.

Should be noted that errors have really hurt Cal.  Especially early on.

Yes

no walks, one hit now.  broadcast team on ESPN 3 jinxed it right before she gave up the hit.

While we're at it...

For the record, I think all

For the record, I think all these measureables are skewed so our class really is tall and awesome because you can only compare the numbers to other numbers that are equally biased...and they compare favorably.  I'm not trolling people.  I'm mostly making fun of myself for being slow.

Indeed.

I still feel like all these measurables get exaggerated.  If i was a recruit I would be listed at 6'4''...with a 40 time of 5.8 (trust me that is the exaggerated version).

The only thing I'm missing...

is the home state of each of the recruits.  This is just a quibble because I think it's awesome that you did this.  I'm just a curious type, and I am interested to know if these schools recruit mostly locally or not.  I imagine Hawaii has weird recruiting so I'm off to the databases to look at that.  Well done, sir.

Well...

Norway is stupid.

You keep bringing this up.

This is like the fourth time I've heard you say this.  Being different doesn't mean you're just out to troll people and do the opposite of what everyone thinks.  If that were really true, he wouldn't be going to another school to play football, he weould be moving to Norway to become an olympic ski jumper.  I think you're just calling this kid a troll.  While it may be true, there is just zero evidence for this at this point.

There's gambling in this establishment

You'll be SHOCKED to learn that ND thinks they have him.

Yup.

Swedish people!

My goal.

'95 Stamos or '13 Stamos?  This is important.

24/7 Composite

Go to the 24/7 website and look at any player's ranking.  They get a star ranking frm 24/7 as well as a composite.  Ace is using the composite which is calculated based on the 4 major recruiting sites.

First double post

/shame

Not quite what I was saying.

Just saying that the 247 composite rankings include him while these charts do not (with the exception of the inclusion of said composite ranking).

Pallante

He actually counts toward our composite ranking on 24/7 I believe.  It'd be interesting to see what would happen if they took grey shirts out of those rankings.

False Flag

You still can't explain the trapper keeper textures.

Indeed.

OP has a raging clue.

The afternoon was moist.

He glanced out the window, giving his reddened eyes a break from the steady light of the monitor.  The twitter feed, mostly banal and occasionally clever, had yet to yield the one piece of information he waited for.  On another tab, the words had already been carefully ordered and waited only for a single click to be hurled unto the world.  The submit button ached to be touched, but our humble blogger could only wait.  Refresh, and wait.

Will Kwame be out by then??

Word on the street was that he seriously considered committing.  Just sayin'...

Nice

I like my LBs to know their calculus.

Meh.

If you can become a hero (Novak, Hunwick), you can become a villain.  I'm willing to say that there's a limit here, but I don't think we should be in the habbit of never saying anything critical of a college athelete.  As far as the 'disease' comment, that's probably toeing the line, but not wholly unacceptable.

Sigh

Everyone is just frustrated that the season had such a disappointing outcome.  You are allowed to be a fan and be upset with the object of your fandom.  Saying otherwise is like saying that you can't love your spouse if you're occasionally upset with them.

I seriously hate arguments over "true fandom" and CoY is using just that type of argument here.

Different situation.

Demanding excellence in the face of difficult circumstances is not the same thing as demanding excellence in the face of significantly easier ones.  Comparing the football team in '08 to this years hockey team is gross oversimplification.  If, at some point, Hoke takes a top-10 preseason team to a losing record accompanied with some clear in-team problems I would hope Brian would write another version of this post.

Weird thought.

After reading the recap, I only watched this to be reminded of what it was like to watch Hoke speak and to get a little excited for spring football.  Somehow I got to thinking about how we are going to get to watch Hoke age quite a bit if things go well.  Just imagine a grey-haired, short-sleeved Hoke looking wise on the sideline in about 12 years.  Pretty awesome if you ask me.  That will eventually be the imagine that will linger on.  Sorry if this was strange to anybody.  Carry on.

The fact that you're calling

The fact that you're calling it 'pop-pop' let's me know that you're not ready for it.

I know people.

I know this is two different stories.  It was a response to something other than the original post.  Also the problem is that downhill skiiers etc. are not allowed to partake in the highly dangerous events without experience.  The snowmobiler who lost control had hardly ever rode the thing and he lost control of it and it shot into the crowd.

Another thing.

NFL players don't typically careen into crowds during games.

That was ridiculous.  They let a guy with virtually no experience on a smowmobile try to flip one in front of spectators behind zero protection.

Paywall.

You must subscribe to kenpom to see anything other than the overall rankings and the 'blog'. 20 bucks per year.  That gives you access to a lot though.
