Conley posted something to the effect of (I'm paraphrasing): 'committed too early, nothing against Michigan, just hadn't seen any other schools.'
Yikes! |
| 41 weeks 13 hours ago | No comments on Gareon Conley's tweets? |
Is he still really considered a commit? |

Brian - I think you made a math error on Tate's percentages. DO + CA = 16 and the total chart is only 25, with equals 64%, not 58%. 67% if you're dropping out the 1 in the MA column. 58% sounds bad but 64% sounds good, as the baseline for "good day" is about 60%. |

Brian - trying to download the mp3 and it keeps giving me an error message saying no file exists. Please double check it. |

Brian, MSU's protected schools are not PSU and OSU. They're PSU and Michigan. MSU's and OSU's protected schools are arguably the toughest - M and PSU. |

DJ Williamson - a gliding fast WR with some ability at CB. Know what former Wolverine that sounds like? Morgan Trent. |
| 3 years 42 weeks ago | There are fewer independents |
There are fewer independents than there used to be. Before Muskegon joined the OK Red, they faced some difficult times filling out a home schedule, too, and frequently made long trips (including Ohio and Indiana) to get to 8 or 9 games. Add in that Inkster's scheduling happened really, really late, and you have the perfect storm for all road games. |

I just hope that Stevie sticks his arms out like a helicopter and makes a motor noise with his mouth as he "spins" around the field. That alone would at least confuse the offense. |
| 3 years 43 weeks ago | Perhaps against power running |
Perhaps against power running schemes we'll see Brown replaced by JB Fitzgerald? Reports on JB are good and he's got at least 3 inches and 30 pounds on Stevie. Oh, and can "Crab Man" be Roh's official nickname, much as Butler went by Manbearfreak? Please? |
| 3 years 46 weeks ago | I would caution against |
I would caution against making broad judgements based on only one or two years of data. The DT class in the midwest is very poor this year, and we haven't had success in attracting much long-distance talent. In many ways I think RR values, more than anything, the same thing that LC valued in recruiting: talent. |
| 3 years 46 weeks ago | Seth Broekhuizen kicking numbers |
As a Kicker: 62 PAT (no word on how many he missed) As a Punter: 4 punts for 178 yards (44.5 per punt). Again, prolific offenses don't punt much in HS. Kickoffs: 84 kickoffs with 35 touchbacks (42%). Verdict: Although his sample size is small, he has good potential as a punter down the road. Leg strength might be an issue as a FG kicker and on kickoffs. |
| 4 years 4 days ago | Brian - I believe the other |
Brian - I believe the other QB Cone outplayed (in addition to Caudle) was Pat Devlin, who did nothing at Penn State before transferring to Delaware. Much like Caudle's situation, this makes Cone's "outplaying of highly touted guys" performance look significantly worse. |

I'd put Brandon Smith on the 2nd team. Remember the year when Brandon Smith and Leon Jones were our best players? My gosh, there were some dark years. A team of Horton-Dion-BRJ-Lavell-Graham could do some damage (at least in terms of potential). I wish Lavell was playing today. Imagine him starting for us at the 4 today. He'd be a perfect fit for Beilein. |

I believe the Florida linebacker who tried to commit was named David Justice, which is memorable because it's the same name as the former MLB star. |

Glendening played hockey at Hotchkiss? Was that after he graduated from East Grand Rapids HS? I remember watching him play FB to Kelvin Grady's RB for a few years. |
| 4 years 16 weeks ago | 9 conference games is the |
9 conference games is the worst idea ever. You either do 8, or you do 10 and play everyone. 5 home, 5 away, and have 2 OOC games. We'd have to alternate between 6 & 7 home games every year assuming we keep the home & home with ND, so I doubt that happens as the Athletic Department basically needs 7 home games a year for the financial side of things to work. But seriously, 9 games is a terrible idea. They just need to make it so teams don't miss Michigan and OSU in the same year. That's ridiculous. Pair OSU with Indiana and Michigan with Minnesota or something. |

Brian, your memory on Foote is the same as mine. Pershing HS -> safety/LB spot duty -> starter -> TFL machine. One can hope that MJ turns out as well. |

From the sounds of it, Oklahoma is full, thus no offer for Pearlie. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYUWFyHqYog Video, including the Kampfer hit (although not a great view). The two MSU kids, should, as a rule, be out for at least as long as Kampfer is, plus more. You do something that earns a penalty and injures another player = you can't play until he can. |
| 4 years 20 weeks ago | Navarre was NOT a converted |
Navarre was NOT a converted TE. Anyone who told you that has no idea what they're talking about. Navarre was actually considered a better QB prospect than OH native Andy Mignery, who was in the same class and later moved to TE and played a lot on special teams. |

There is no such thing as a partial scholarship in D1 college football. It's all or nothing. Hyde's name has come up but neither premium site has confirmed an offer. Supposedly, Hyde's grades are an issue. |

I refuse to be optimistic on Robinson until after the visit, IF (**IF**) we get rave reviews. It's still most likely that the kid ends up a Gator. |

Morales gets his scholie if there are leftovers. He's first in line, but it is not ensured. |

Yep, Marlo, not Marlon. Who had the better kingpin - Avon or Marlo? Hmmm..... |

Hold on a sec Brian - If we get Denard (**fingers crossed x 10**), you can bet he'll get a long look at QB and maybe even get some of the Carlos Brown/Justin Feagin ISQD plays next year. But there's no way they simply stick him at corner with no shot at QB. If they wanted to do that, there's no way he'd ever come to A2, and goal #1 is to get him, period, regardless of position. |

That's true. I read an interview with Morales a couple weeks ago and he said his deal is a year-by-year thing based on availability. |
| 4 years 26 weeks ago | A couple points: 1. Moundros |
A couple points: 1. Moundros is going to get a lot of snaps next year, and thus I'd be shocked if they didn't allow him to keep his scholarship. Guys that are walk-ons who become major contributors (like Moundros) tend to get to keep their scholarships. Guys like Zach Johnson, for instance, almost assuredly won't unless we end the recruiting season with extras. 2. Sheridan. I suspect he'll keep his too, as he's (technically) going to be in the running to be the starting QB next year (no, I don't expect him to win the job, but he's theoretically still in it) and will probably see time. I would say Moundros is more likely to get to keep his than Sheridan. But to be honest, I'd be surprised if either didn't get one next year. |
