Kentucky and Ole Miss just arrived a little late to the SEC mentality when it comes to recruits. If you pay them, they will come. |

I went to a Michigan/Nebraska baseball game last year. Had a decent time baking in the sun and the good guys won. Walking inside, Dave Brandon knocked into me while talking on his cell phone. |

Arizona State usually has about one relevant season per decade. Maybe the timing will work out. I'm still ticked off that that ACC is letting Notre Dame be a part time member. The whole concept is insane. You're either a full fledged member of a conference or you're not. Stop making special rules to accommodate Notre Dame's greediness. |

Thank you, Wolverine Devotee. I should have told you that about 20 of those videos weren't worth transferring to torrent. Anything uploaded in 2007/early 2008 looks really bad now with bad picture and horrible editing, as I didn't really know what I was doing yet. But everything else is very much appreciated. |

That's the way it was for the better part of 30 years when we played MSU at home, double digit victories about 90% of the time. Hoke is working to get us back to that. |

Not the Canes. Ten years ago, when they were competing for national titles, this still couldn't sell out their home games. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Thanks in large part to Henne |
Thanks in large part to Henne and Hart barely being able to walk. But I feel the pain of no big ten title in 9 years. That's our longest drought since the 1950s. In the mid 90s when we went 4 straight years without a conference title (1993-1996) I remember that felt like an eternity. So you can just imagine what this current drought feels like. |
| 1 week 6 days ago | They revisted this subject on |
They revisted this subject on WTKA a couple years back and you covered everything correctly. Carr was higher on Henson than he was on Brady. He was following the same attitude that Bo Schembechler displayed in 1975 when he chose Rick Leach to be the starter as a freshman. The mindset then was that if the young guy is playing as well in practice as the older more experienced guy, if it's that close, then you should stick with the young guy. And that's what Carr wanted to do but the rest of the offensive coaching staff told Carr, are you nuts? You've got to start Brady. Going into the 1999 season, my mindset was to give Brady a very slight edge because of experience but I wouldn't have minded either as the starter at the time. Brady was not fun to watch all the time in 1998. There were many times that he made me want to pull my hair out. And although he was playing better as the season went on, he still managed a few mind numbingly bad plays every game. For instance, those two horrible interceptions he threw against Arkansas in the bowl game completely blew our lead and we had to rely on some late Hawg mistakes to pull out the win. There was a world of difference with Brady in 99, though. I was not expecting him to improve that much. He was never flashy, he just went out and won. Drew Henson has probably been the most all around talented Michigan QB in my lifetime. He had great mobility AND a fantastic arm. His throws were like lazers and commentators regularly admired them on replays. They were a thing of beauty. His accuracy was impressive as well in 2000. Very few interceptions. What he could have done had he come back in 2001...it kills me. |
| 2 weeks 8 hours ago | Watching tons of college |
Watching tons of college football games every Fall, it's easy to realize how spoiled we are with 'The Victors,' because there are a TON of lame college fight songs out there. I don't know the lyrics to the majority of them but I know the melodies and we're talking crap city. Have you ever watched a Florida State/Miami game? Both of their fight songs are embarrassingly bad. They sound like theme songs to a pre-schooler's TV show. Auburn's fight song sounds like a cute commercial jingle. USC's has always been considered a classic but I always found it very meh. And Rocky Top is GOD awful, nothing more than a country hick tune you would sing on the porch while wearing overalls and playing a banjo. As much as I despise ND, OSU and MSU, their fight songs are better than the majority of fight songs out there. |
| 2 weeks 8 hours ago | It's not the same, though. |
It's not the same, though. Penn State is a big opponent but not a rival. I looked up the series in the modern era of college football (last 40 years) and not a single team has traveled to a rival school's stadium two years in a row until this scheduling clusterf*ck. And the thing with Penn State does get back on track. We traveled to their place in 2010, took a two year hiatus and then travel to their place again this year. This does need to be fixed. There have always been scheduling breaks with Notre Dame, as there will be again soon. But we've always been assured of either OSU or MSU at home every year. Now we don't get that. |

"Nobody does crazy like Ohio State." Most accurate sentence EVER. Sleep with one eye open, Matt Hayes. We saw what America's worst fan base did to Herby when he had the nerve to call out OSU on their warped version of integrity. |

This whole thing is really depressing me. Beckman has been calling Michigan football games since I was a year old. That makes him my Bob Ufer. I understand people being angry and others wanting him out. This whole thing really sucks. |

Technically Moeller wasn't fired. He was ordered a one year leave of absence to get his "issues" together but he rejected that and resigned instead. But I get what you're saying. |

I don't think this is very common, is it? Usually it's new stadiums and arenas that get the corporate names. Like Louisville. Their football team plays at Papa John's Stadium and their basketball team now plays at KFC Yum! Center. I wonder where their baseball team plays. Taco Bell Field? |

| 2 weeks 6 days ago | Wisconsin playing somebody |
Wisconsin playing somebody with a pulse in non-conference play? Surely this is some kind of joke. Or maybe that combined .325 winning percentage their non-conference opponents have in the last 20 years finally woke them up. |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | Beating the cop, resisting |
Beating the cop, resisting arrest was all that was reported. Then a typical Brian Kelly BS response of he will be punished, he feels terrible, etc. Same response as when he said Michael Floyd would be punished. But unlike Floyd, Rees got suspended for a game, which in the end didn't matter because the opponent was Navy. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | The only UM/MSU game I've |
The only UM/MSU game I've ever been to. For some reason, this was a 4:30 start. Day before Halloween. It was really windy walking to the stadium, which made me nervous for field goals and extra points. This had to be Sparty's best performance at the Big House in the last 40 years. And they were a shitty team that year as well. I don't know how they were able to put in that performance. MSU's attempt at a game winning field goal at the end of regulation (which was set up thanks to a phantom pass interference on us) was in my end zone. All the action was in the opposite end zone. The MSU fan section was 15 rows behind me. They started taunting us when they were up 27-10. All the Michigan fans around me were screaming for us to throw the damn ball. The wind did not let up. Every single extra point in the overtimes was about as nerve wrecking as they could be. When it was all over, I turned around a hugged the guy behind me. He probably thought I was nuts but he hugged back. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | If this brings pain to the ND |
If this brings pain to the ND fan base, good riddance. But as bad as Rees is, he scares me more than Golson. Denard basically handed the game to them last year but all Rees had to do was kill off the clock and he did. For UTL, Rees had 2 horrible interceptions and one fumble where he simply forgot how to hold a football but he played excellent otherwise. This same ND offense that carved us up couldn't do shit against a 7 loss Pitt team two weeks later. This is just the ND way. They'll play well against us and then fall back to reality the following week. I'd love to kick their ass ala 2007/2006/2003 but games like that are rare. As for the details of Golson's dismissal, I'd wait to pat ND on the back. After how they handled Tommy Rees, Michael Floyd, Declan Sullivan and Lizzy Seeberg, I don't think they're as ethical as they like the world to believe. |
| 3 weeks 5 days ago | Notre Dame gave Weis that |
Notre Dame gave Weis that contract extension just 6 games into his first season. I despise them as much as everyone else but even I wondered how they could be so stupid. Then again, this is the same school that brilliantly hired Gerry Faust in 1981 because he was such a dominant HIGH SCHOOL coach. All I could do was laugh and say that I couldn't wait for this to blow up in Notre Dame's face. And I still hate that massive toolbag. I have some close family friends who are Kansas fans. They always liked Michigan so they root for us and since I've never had a beef with the Jayhawks, I root for them as long as we're not playing each other. But then they went and hired Weis and I had to tell them that I was sorry. I can't root for you guys in football until you get rid of that a*shole. |

I guess that explains why the Anthony Thomas jersey I got for Christimas in 2002 didn't have his name on it. I did see a fan at the big house last year wearing a Woodson jersey that had his name on it. I wondered where he got it. |

I love seeing the Hawks angry and frustrated. The refs helped them out all night and they STILL couldn't get it done. I guess I'd be pissed too if I were them. |

Career stats for Jim Smith while at Michigan: *411 rushing yards and a touchdown *1,687 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. *264 kickoff return yards *525 punt return yards http://stats.ath.umich.edu/football/cmaster.php I wish I had some footage to upload of him but there were so few games televised in the 70's. And I have no personal memories of him since I wans't born until 5 years after he graduated. |
