Yeah. He was the first person who came to mind when I read the topic title.
He has really come into his own the second half of this season. And when he's not making some great catches lately, he's running great end arounds against Penn State or that 66 yard TD against Maryland. And that 96 yard kickoff return against Northwestern, well, that was pretty sweet.
Did not to expect to see this kind of stuff from him before the season started.

It had something to do with him being in a bar...maybe because he was underage? I forget the exact details. A fan posted the story online a couple years ago but I can't find it now.
Gillette was suspended for the Fiesta Bowl game against Nebraska as well. Fortunately, Pat Moons did a solid job of kicking for us in those two games.

I love how Musberger says nothing and just lets the cameras show the crowd going crazy. Keith Jackson would later do the exact same thing on Desmond and Charles' punt returns in 91 and 97. A moment like that speaks for itself.
This game is also particular in that, I believe it was the only time during the Schembechler years where the OSU game was a 3:30 kickoff. Looks like it was a bit overcast but it's pretty dark throughout the game.

I doubt they change the banner but I hope they do a moment of silence before the game like they did for Ufer before the Illinois game in 81.

No former Buckeye players calling this game? Score!

Would have been 17-3. Now it's 10-10. Disgraceful job by the refs.

Also in the 1994 Notre Dame game, we attempted a chip shot field goal, ND blocked it, Che Foster caught the ball behind the LOS and ran forward for a first down. Biakabutuka ran it in for a TD 3 plays later. Keep in mind that this happened in South Bend....where the refs have a very long history of screwing Irish opponents over.

Completely devastating. This rips out your heart and stomps on it even if you're not a parent.

A side note: I know the schedule quirk with MSU and no more Notre Dame is largely to blame but I figured if there was one road game the Michigan Marching Band would travel to this year, this would be the one. But no.
Most college marching bands usually make two road trips per year. The MMB had none this year for the first time in over half a century. That is highly, HIGHLY disappointing.

When did the visitor section get moved to the upper deck end zone nose bleed seats? In 97, the players were able to celebrate and high five with the fans from the field. Can't do that anymore.

Wow. On Penn State's lone TD, that should have been an easy interception for Peppers. He really got lost.

Isn't he the fat son who acted as the family speaker when JoePa got fired? That guy was always a tool.

Plus, in that 250 yard game against Purdue, he didn't play the 2nd Quarter. And in the MSU game, he only played the 1st quarter and less than half of the 4th quarter.

I didn't think so either so I was confused when Dierdorf said it on the radio.
Brady, Collins and Navarre each did it once.
Henson came close. He had 2/3 and then 2/3 again but never 3 straight.
I thought for sure Elvis Grbac would have done it (throwing to Desmond, Derrick Alexander, Yale Van Dyne and Tony McGee) but he wasn't even close. Despite all those receivers, we had such a strong running game that we didn't need to throw very much.
Likewise with Harbaugh having the luxury of throwing to Kolesar, McMurtry, Paul Jokish and Eric Katus, the dominant running game made for a more balanced attack. Plus Harbaugh could scramble and run the option if need be.

Northwestern is 9-2 and ranked. I guess you can call that a good win for us.

This is something we've known since before the season started, though. No ranked opponents until 12 weeks into the season.

It's really nice to go into this game and not feel completely helpless for once.

They'll move the ball better than PSU.
You saw how awful their offensive line was today. And Hackenburg looked really banged up at the end of the game.
MSU has this win in the bag.

How much does this suck? Being extremely nervous having to root for a team you despise is bad enough. But even without Cook, MSU has looked by far as the better team.
And on top of that, MSU looks to have a solid QB once Cook graduates.

I guess he was wrong. I looked up a few...
Tom Brady did it in 1999. (250, 285 and 307 against Purdue, MSU and Illinois)
Todd Collins did it in 1993. (265, 251, 267 against Washington State, Notre Dame and Houston)
John Navarre did it in 2003. (288, 278 and 271 against Northwestern, OSU and USC)
