I used to think that way but not anymore.
Going 11-2 in 2011 with a Sugar Bowl victory didnt make a difference in the 2 B1G games I went to as the student section was half empty for the Minnesota game (which was Homecoming) and the Purdue game. Nebraska was ranked that year and I was shocked when I saw how many empty seats there were.
Those problems remained coming off that 11-2 season in 2012. A meh home schedule that year but we still went 6-0 at home with some classic games.
The reality is it doesn't matter how good or bad the product on the field is. The only sold out games are always going to be the rivalry ones or a top ten conference opponent. Students could care less about all the rest. I don't think they see any difference between a 8-4 Purdue team and a 2-10 Akron team. The prices are ridiculous but I don't think it would any different if they were cheaper.
Expanding the student section before the 2011 season seems like the biggest epic fail now.

On one drive, USC made it all the way to the Michigan 11 yard line. That was their moral victory in this game.

Watching Gardner get sacked a thousand times last year destroyed my a soul a little bit.
I could say the bright side is it couldn't get any worse. But I ended up saying that about the defense after RichRod's second season. So I'm not going to make that mistake again.
I'm just going to stick to praying for the best but not expecting any miracles. It's easier on the heart.

Winning and developing players is an obvious thing you expect out of every coach, That goes without saying.
Sometimes I wish we could see a little more passion out of Hoke. If we do something stupid, don't just shrug your shoulders, clap your hands and move on. It's OK to get angry sometimes to fire the players up. But Hoke has got to be the calmest coach I've ever seen. Its hard to imagine him getting mad.

I went to every single spring game from 1997 to 2009 and they got too boring for me to care about. Several different scrimmages going on at the same time assured you that you were always missing something.
The best players were always too injured to suit up every single year. They stopped letting fans go on the field afterwards to get autographs from the players around 2003ish.
The new players you wanted to see never seemed to pan out. I stupidly thought Mister Simpson was going to become the next Michigan great.
They just got too boring.

If THAT was a controversial call to the reporter, what are his thoughts on Appling's mugging/push off on the Virginia defender that pretty much killed their chances?

MSU has a tendency to lose when I'm not watching. I missed their losses against Georgetown, Nebraska, Illinois, Ohio State, North Carolina AND I missed their loss to us at Breslin because I was down in Miami at a wedding.
So I'm going to keep watching Kentucky/Louisville. Hopefully that helps.

3 different times, Walton did a lap around the basket and then tossed the ball to a Tennessee player. He needs to stop doing that. But otherwise, good job for the freshmen.
Morgan should have had two more dunks but lost the handle both times. The later one helped the Vols run to close in on us.
We survived. That's what's most important. But it's clear that inbounding the ball is still going to give me nightmares.

Indeed. Although it was a charge anyway.
And thankfully, what a stupid move by the Tennessee player anyway going right into 2 Michigan players. Even Gottleib took a break from his Vol ass kissing to point out how bad that was.

So is this going to be the norm for us in the Sweet 16? Nerves getting destroyed before eventually winning by 2.
I guess that means on Sunday we get to play like we did against Florida last year. Please???

I feel like I aged 20 years watching those last 2 minutes.

I have no problem with students rushing courts or fields for celebrations. Let the kids have fun, as long as they don't injure anyone.
The only exception I make is laughing at Notre Dame students for rushing the field after getting a last second field goal to beat Navy in 2003. Navy sucked and the Irish had beaten them 40 straight years. They looked stupid for doing that.
Exceptions can always be made in their case because... fuck Notre Dame.

Remember playing Tennessee in the tournament 3 years ago? That was cool. Let's do that again.

More clock issues. The clock easily should have run off earlier than it did. North Carolina got a HUGE break there before they called timeout and the commentators never even noticed.
Just like with the Nebraska/Baylor game, there are some serious morons running the clocks. This shouldn't be an issue.

Another hated program going down early. My GOD, how Iove it. Had MSU, Wisconsin, Louisville and Kentucky lost this weekend, this would have been THE perfect weekend in the history of sports.

The rich get richer. Florida goes two straight months without playing a ranked opponent in a crappy conference (which included several close call games) and now all the top seeds in their bracket are gone.
I want so desperately for them to get exposed but their schedule won't allow it.
