He was always polarizing to me because even though it felt dirty, I often found myself agreeing with him on the non-UM/MSU topics. But he'd always slip some snark in even if it wasn't related, like making fun of Brady Hoke's voice, and then I'd say "f*ck you" to the radio and be pissed off for 20 minutes. It's best just to avoid him altogether. And I'm sure with MSU going to their first Rose Bowl since the Reagan administration, he's probably more insufferable.
I think there are plenty of Michigan fans who are just gluttons for punishment and listen to him regardless. Too bad he refuses to take any calls from Michigan fans with a brain.
As for him being burned, literally, there's really no joy out of this. It's more fun to make fun of him when he has a "MAKE PLAYS!" like meltdown. Not this. But he's still a dick.

Plenty of bad luck in plenty of bowl games under Bo.
*Bo had a heart attack before the 1970 Rose Bowl. Dan Dierdorf said the team basically went to the stadium in tears.
*Losing our quarterbacks. John Wangler knocked out of the 79 Gator Bowl against North Carolina after putting up great numbers. Steve Smith knocked out of the 83 Rose Bowl against UCLA. No Jim Harbaugh for the Holiday Bowl because if his broken arm.
*Refs f*cking up. USC gets a touchdown when Charles White goes into the end zone without a football in 78. Ten years later, USC benefits again when Bo hater Jim Kemberling called the phantom holding call on Chris Stapleton's fake punt that would have provided us with the game winning points.
*Close call. There was no injuries or bad calls in the 78 Rose Bowl against Washington but we were inches away from tying the game at the end when a Rick Leach pass was tipped in the end zone and landed right in the hands of a Washington player. And against Auburn in the 84 Sugar Bowl, Triando Markray caught a 38 yard pass that would have easily set up a game winning field goal from the 25 but the clock had run out.
Yeah, the bowl GODS really hated Bo.

The Indiana basketball game should never have come down to a Morgan putback. We missed 3 free throws in the final 20 seconds that would have iced the win and another B1G title right then and there. All those misses gave that jackass Tom Creen the win.
Take out the surprise run in the NCAA tournament and 2013 was a whole lot of suck.

I think it would be pretty sweet if Texas stayed in this current slump for a while. Before Mack Brown got there, the Horns were a mediocre program for about 25 years, where 8-4 was considered a great season. While Michigan fans were complaining that Lloyd Carr was consistently getting 9-3 seasons out of 11-1 talent, a usual comment on MLive was that, hey, at least we're not Texas.
Once Mack got there, Texas looked alot like Notre Dame did when they were coached by Lou Holtz, winning 11 games every year, half of their wins always by the skin of the their teeth where every critical bounce and flukey play went their way...game after game, season after season.
Just look at these bowl results that took place over a 5 year period:
2005 Rose Bowl: Kicked a field goal with 6 seconds left to beat Michigan 38-37.
2006 Rose Bowl: Scored a TD with 19 seconds left to beat USC 41-38.
2007 Alamo Bowl: Scored a TD with 1 minute left to beat Iowa 26-24.
2009 Fiesta Bowl: Scored a TD with 16 seconds left to beat Ohio State 24-21.
I really grew to dislike these guys. I've never seen a program win so many close games over such a long period of time. And given how Michigan sucks at close games, I resent them more.

UGH!!! Offensive rebounds for Zona. They don't even have to try for them.

The way we have been playing....I'm a little nervous for this one. But it is at home so we have a shot.
Heart says 68-64 Michigan.
Head says 70-62 Arizona.

That was against Illinois in Champaign. The Illini returner fumbled the ball falling forward at the 20, the ball bounced right in front of Brabbs which he scooped up and returned to the 1 yard line. Three chances from the 1 and we couldn't punch it in, so Brabbs kicks the field goal. We were up 42-13 at that point so settling for a field goal wasn't the end of the world.
Love getting the updates about Brabbs and his health. He's handled everything a hell of a lot better than I would have.

I remember Michigan doing the surprise onside kick just once. And it was Lloyd, surprisingly, who made the call. 1998 against Notre Dame in South Bend, Tom Brady's first ever start. We tried it in the second quarter and easily recovered it. Although I don't think we did anything with it and the defense completely collapsed in the second half. I can't remember who recovered it.
I guess trying the onside kick last week wouldn't have been much of a risk. OSU was shredding our D all day with 3 play drives anyway. 20 yards wasn't going to make much of a difference.

Kansas State and their history is pretty comparable to Wisconsin. They were a program that was pitiful for 100 years. And then they got the right coach who completely turned the program around.
But despite the dramatic turnaround, K-State and Snyder were sort of a punch line for many years because of their scheduling. Up until several years ago, they scheduled every 1-AA team they could find in non-conference play. And despite so many 11 win seasons during the first half of the BCS era, they constantly got passed over for the BCS bowls because of their schedules. They were undefeated going into the Big 12 conference game in 1998, lost to Texas A&M at the very end, and only ended up in the Alamo Bowl where they eventually lost to Purdue, who finished in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten.
Even Sports Illustrated took a jab at them once. I have my 1997 copy for Michigan's championship recap and there's a page that has the final standings of the top 25. For K-State, who finished 11-1, it says... "Snyder wants more respect. Hey, Snyder? Play somebody!".
K-State eventually got to a BCS bowl in 2004 after pulling a massive upset of Oklahoma in the Big 12 Title game. They played in the Fiesta Bowl against Jim Tressell's OSU squad but lost, unfortunately. After that, there were some down years, Snyder leaving, Snyder coming back, pulling some nice seasons here and there. And that brings us to the present.
We were very close to playing the Wildcats in the Sugar Bowl 2 year ago but they got passed over Virginia Tech. I remember the mood here was that everyone would have rather us played K-State.

Another common thing with OSU under Meyer is luck. 99% of the time, the bounces always go their way. And how many times have we seen Braxton thrown what should be a pick six to a wide open defender only to see him drop it? And then Miller will throw A TD on the next play.
That's the kind of crap I expect to see whenever OSU plays.

I confess, I actually like Gus Johnson. He's had some epic, funny, over the top broadcasts of bottom dweller B1G basketball games in the past. He can make Northwestern vs. Iowa sound like a final four game.

My 6 year old niece decided over the summer that she loves MSU and she's still rooting for them hardcore. She asked me if I was going to root for them this weekend. I said, "no.". Her eyes then got really wide and she asked me if I was rooting for OSU. I said, "no." I will never root for either team.
I'm thinking of not even watching. Maybe I'll tune in at the very end just to see who wins.
My passion for Michigan football will never change. But my passion for college football in general has taken a downward spiral the last few years. All the programs I despise most keep having major success and all the cheating programs keep getting wrist slaps from the NCAA.
I just don't have much motivation to watch a matchup between one rival coached by a slimeball and another rival coached by an asshole.
