Shades of Bo chasing down Anthony Carter to the bus station.
I always liked Joppru. He was a solid tight end and I rarely ever remember him dropping a pass. I wish he was thrown to more often but Marquise, Braylon and Ron Bellomy were doing good things of their own.

I fully believe I have the power to jinx a few games if I make predictions. (Yes, I'm one of those fans.).

I've been to a few Iowa games at the big house and I was surprised to hear their fans chanting, "Let's go Hawks!" during the playing of the national anthem, which I thought was a dick move.

That was the game where the ref used an index card to measure whether Michigan had a first down or not.

Or they start out bad, lose every QB to injury, start the water boy and he throws for 500 yards and 6 TD's.

How badly do you have to f*ck up to get a one game suspension at OSU? Did they kill somebody?
|1 day 11 min ago||The thing I remember most||
The thing I remember most about those insanely bad defenses was how often they waited until 3rd and long to show how truly bad they were.

I wonder what he's up to these days. He seems to be one of those former players who has disappeared off the face of the earth. I felt the same way about Elvis Grbac until Harbaugh had him talk to the team a few months back.

I'm still blown away that the conference would even allow such a thing to happen in the first place, Dave Brandon or no Dave Brandon. In the last 40 years, no B1G team has had to travel to a rival's stadium two years in a row. That's unheard of in the modern era.
Granted, because of the number of teams in conference, there have been instances where there have been two straight (non-rival) meetings at one stadium but it was always evened out. For instance, we played Minnesota at the Metrodome in 2002 and 2003 and we played them at the big house in 2004 and 2005. In the 80's, we did a similar pattern when we played Iowa. Why the crap is there no effort to even out this thing with Sparty?
I was never a fan of Dave Brandon and I'm glad he's gone. But did he really have the power to fight that?

Because the league providing the balls would make too much sense.

Agree. I'll take Army, Air Force and Navy over the MAC schools or 1-AA schools any time. Navy was a pretty common opponent during the Schembechler years.
It's also the only time you'll hear the big house crowd cheer for the opponent. During pregame of the Air Force game a couple years ago, it was weird to hear the cheers but at the same time, it made sense. You're not going to boo the Air Force.

I kind of like the thought of a wall of honor...or something along those lines.

I should have pointed out on the kickoff against MSU, A-train finally gets brought down just a few away from a very dejected looking Nick Saban at 2:27 in.

Ironically, Oregon State was also the home opener for Harbaugh his senior year.

I know I'm in the minority but conferences should have no more than 12 teams.

1999 against Wisconsin at Camp Randall. David Terrell ran it 50 yards for the score. It was run to perfection.

If you give me your email address, I can email you the entire Ghost Busters halftime show and wave.
|6 days 19 hours ago||I love how excited the crowd||
I love how excited the crowd is to do the wave in 84. I have an old Detroit News article on the 85 Notre Dame game (Harbaugh's junior year) and it mentions that the first half was a total snoozer. The only entertaining thing being the students several failed attempts at starting the wave. Had the newness of the wave already faded after two years?

That's kind of impressive when you also factor in that Cook had a superior defense and better OL to work with than Rudock.

Rece is probably the best possible replacement for him. I always liked him. Plus, he gets bonus points for calling us Meeeechigan ala Ufer.

That video from 77 is amazing. I envy anyone who got to experience THE GAME during the Ten Year War. So many times where both teams were ranked in the top 5 and battling for that Rose Bowl or no bowl.

Tennessee/Oklahoma?? And the winner getting an edge on the national title race? The Vols went 7-6 last year. I'm completely lost.

Going in knowing what we know about Rudock is a little more comforting than the combo of Sheridan and Threet. But I'll knock on wood just in case.

That was a good read.
I'm kind of disappointed that this is Harbaugh's first game. Even with the pieces Utah lost, it's going to be very difficult to win there. I'm not expecting us to be world beaters in year one but winning the first game to a hopeful start of a new era would feel pretty amazing.
|1 week 2 days ago||I kind of agree but the||
I kind of agree but the original title of the book was, "The rise and fall of Michigan Football," which many found a little too depressing.
Now that we have Hackett and Harbaugh, you can say "return" in regards to them. But I'm sure many others outside the program will find the title to be very Notre Dameish.

With "Three & Out," I read up until the night before RichRod's first game but couldn't go any further and relive the countless horrors. So I mailed the book to my uncle in California.
With this one, I'm going to read through the whole thing, because of the epic light at the end of the tunnel. Not just the hiring of Harbaugh but Dave Brandon's exit.
Although, I'm still kind of in shock mode that Harbaugh is our head coach. I fear sometimes that I'm going to wake up and it's still the week following last year's Minnesota game.
