While I agree that it's time to start winning at their stadiums again, I despise the new schedule quirk.
It was nice knowing that ANY season, we would have at least one rival at the big house. My entire life it's been that way. I would take that over having both OSU and MSU at home every other year.
It's another reason I hate the additions of Maryland and especially Rutgers to the conference.

He played very well against OSU. Unfortunately, the defense never did.
|1 day 1 hour ago||Actually they did. The only||
Actually they did. The only time ESPN Classic was generous to Michigan fans was during OSU week. They showed the wins over them from 1969, 1977, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1995, 1996, and of course 1997.
But the other 358 days a year, they showed 1 Michigan win for every 5 gut wrenching losses. Literally, I added them up. The crazy thing about that channel was how UM heavy it was when it came to showing college football classics. It was roughly 75% Michigan and 25% the rest of college football.
Around 2001, I emailed Classic at their official site a three page list of Notre Dame and OSU losses that I thought would be perfect for viewers to relive but I never got a response. But it wasn't long before that station fizzled out anyway.

BTN replay is still better than the days of ESPN Classic. 30 playings a week of the Kordell Stewart Hail Mary was no treat.

Epic. The holder for CMU on the game winning field goal is a family friend of mine. His mother was my babysitter when I was 5.

As a Michigan fan, naturally I am a pessimist. So I hope Desmond is right more than I actually agree with him. But even if it were just a case of him being a homer, I wouldn't care because he's our homer. And he's done too much good for me to fault him on any prediction. Godspeed.

I went to that game, unfortunately. My only memory of the Iowa fans was them chanting, "Let's go Hawks!" during the entire playing of the national anthem...which I thought was a really shitty and disrespectful thing to do.

|2 days 10 hours ago||No, they all can't be||
No, they all can't be Oklahoma but the way the athletic department was dragging this out as a major news story to be revealed and then have it be a team we have had a home/home series with 4 times before as well as 4 Rose Bowl meetings in the past...it's confusing and stupid.
Oklahoma has got to be the biggest home/home Michigan has scheduled in my lifetime. And that was announced out of the gate. So why make this big build up for....Washington?

Unfortunately, Fall weddings are very popular now. If you're a Michigan fan and must get married this time of year, the LEAST you can do is get married during the bye week. But they rarely do.
I had weddings on back-to-back Saturdays during the 07 season. Both were for friends I had known since pre-school. I had to go. At that time, we were 2 games removed from "the horror," we were 0-2 and Henne was out for a couple weeks with a leg injury. Normally I'd be jacked for Notre Dame but we were in such an awful place, I was afraid to know what was going on. As soon as the wedding was done, I walked out to the parking lot, took a deep breath and then called my dad for a score update. He told me it was halftime and Michigan was up 31-0. Biggest relief EVER.
The following week against Penn State, I took a tiny battery operated hand held TV with me to the church and hid it in my pocket but the game didn't actually start until the wedding was finished and there was a 2 hour wait between the wedding and reception. We made it to the reception during the 3rd quarter with Michigan up 14-9. We all walked into the dining hall and they started the blessing as the last minute ticked off the clock. Everyone had their heads bowed, I had my head bowed trying to hide the little muted TV under the table cloth. The blessing and game ended simultaneously. Everyone said "Amen!" I said, "Amen!" for a different reason. But nobody else needed to know that.

I was a mess the day Bo died, as everyone else was. But there were two moments that day that stood out above the rest.
The local news went to the hospital Bo was in and Jim Brandstatter, John Wangler and Jamie Morris were already there looking in complete shock. When they interviewed the three men, Jamie Morris was practically sobbing. Seeing Morris, who is such a funny guy, like that made me lose it.
Then later in the afternoon on WTKA, they relived a touching Bo moment from a few months earlier. Tom Slade (1971 Michigan quarterback) had been battling leukemia. After a particularly painful day in the hospital, Slade woke up in his hospital bed to see Bo by his side sitting in a chair against the wall. They looked at each other but said nothing. Then Salde went back to sleep. Five hours later, he awoke to see Bo still sitting in that same chair. Once again I lost it BIG time. The two men ended up dying 8 days apart.
And now I've seriously depressed myself. Somebody needs to post something funny now.

Wish Miller the best. And I'll enjoy Buckeye fan tears for now. But we know how often those bastards have avoided disaster when it comes to quarterbacks. Steve Bellisari was pulled for the 2001 Michigan game and they started Craig Krenzall. When Justin Zwick got injured, the Troy Smith era started.
If their freshman QB sets the college football world on fire this year, I may have to punch some things. Pull some hair out.

Indeed. It's much too early to make any official conclusions like that. We have to wait and see what actually unfolds.
But we can still enjoy Buckeye fan pain in the meantime.

My thoughts are I feel bad for the kid. I wouldn't wish injuries on anyone, not even a rival. So I wish him the best for a recovery.
But I do take delight in the Buckeye fans pain. After a decade of sleezeball Tressel getting them free tattoos, cars, hookers along with those wins, a slap on the wrist thanks to their athletic director's connections and Pryor keeping his mouth shut, then Urban Meyer just falling into their laps thanks to insanely good timing...it's long past time America's worst fan base got some bad karma.

Indeed. I don't think OSU fans gave a sh*t in 2007 when both Henne and Hart could barely walk.

Screw him for including our game with App State on that list. Yes, THE HORROR in 2007 was terrible beyond words, epic upset, yadda, yadda, yadda...but if I had to guess, I doubt the rest of the nation is really THAT interested in this game unless they check the scores at the bottom of the screen and (God forbid) it's close in the 4th quarter.
This sounds more like an excuse to bring up 2007. ESPN will be showing that blocked kick endlessly the first week of the college football season. Forde is just getting a head start.

Didn't he throw 3 interceptions against us in 2012? Ironically, he was pulled and Tommy Reese finished the game which they won...thanks in most part to Denard throwing 35 interceptions.
|4 days 14 hours ago||If you went there in 06 and||
If you went there in 06 and 10, I'd really prefer if you go this year. The fluke plays that went against Michigan over the years in that stadium, not to mention the bad calls ND benefitted from and the downright bizarre happenings like a ref using an index card to measure for a Michigan first down is NOT going to make me miss that place.
Even in 06 when we were up 47-21 in the final minute and kept getting called for late hits, the last hit being because a Michigan defender breathed too hard on Brady Quinn...no. I'm ready to be done with that stadium for good.
|5 days 9 hours ago||I'm not going to get angry||
I'm not going to get angry over us not being ranked. We came off a crap season which ended with us looking like crap against a crap team in a crap bowl game. And preseason rankings don't mean anything. However, that's not going to keep me from casting judgment on the other teams. So here goes.
1. USC at #15 sounds a little too generous.
2. Did Missouri graduate half their team from last year? 24th sounds awfully low to start after the year they had last season.
3. Notre Dame at #17 also sounds generous even before the academic fraud thing broke. Does the return of Everitt Gholston mean THAT much? Also, FUCK Notre Dame.
4. Alabama at #2 despite losing AJ McCaron just depresses me but it doesn't surprise me when Saban can buy pretty much any player he wants.
5. Six PAC 12 teams in the top 25? Did that conference get good while I wasn't looking?
6. I guess I can't argue the Bucks being in the top ten but 5/6 does sound generous after the defensive woes they had last year. 9/10 sounds more deserving.

|1 week 1 day ago||All jokes aside, Arizona||
All jokes aside, Arizona would be an interesting concept only because it would be the first time we'd be facing a former head coach. We've gone up against Moeller, Carr, Hoke and even Schembechler as head or assistants BEFORE they were head coaches here but never after.
Although the "weirdness" factor would clearly be overshadowed by the fact it was 98% misery from beginning to end of RichRod's time here.
I don't see it happening. Although I still don't understand why the athletic department is waiting to make this big reveal. My 7 year old niece will probably be in college herself by the time we play these games.
|1 week 1 day ago||What exactly are they||
What exactly are they providing for season ticket holders that would make them want to show up an hour and half early? They get the pleasure of watching birds fly over the stadium? Watch the team run laps?
I look forward to going but I don't plan to be there until shortly before 8:00.
