66th in the nation in rushing yards is better than I thought. Mainly because before Drake Johnson, all I remember is no run blocking by the O Line. I assumed we led the nation in one yard runs because of that.
Defensive stats being that good was, I think, a combination of improvement from 2013 and the fact that we played few explosive offensive teams. Although making Rutgers look like Baylor was no picnic.
The secondary being 21st is also kind of a surprise since they had a habit of playing 10 yards off the receiver too many times.

My 7 year old niece decided last year that she loves Michigan State. But it really has mostly to do with the fact that the rest of the family are Michigan fans and she's obsessed with being unique. So I have to put up with her cold stares every time I'm wearing an M shirt.
She doesn't know who Jim Harbaugh is but I'm hoping she'll grow to fear him over the next few years.

Yes, Jim Kemberline giving the middle finger to Bo in his final game.
I wonder if USC sent him fruit baskets after that game.

In the 60's, Bump Elliot coached us against his brother Pete who went on to be the coach at Illinois despite the fact both were former players and teammates together at Michigan. That's much more "personable" than the current fact that Jim has an asshole-in-law who coaches at a fellow B1G school in a completely different sport.
Not even 2nd graders could come up with worse logic than your brothers. In the late 80's, Doug Mallory didn't say, "I'm not going to play for Bo Schembechler because I'd have to play against my dad who is the head coach at Indiana.". He came to Michigan because we were Michigan. And he didn't play for his dad because Indiana was Indiana. As far as I know, their father/son relationship went on after that.

Christmas of 1989, I got the best gift a 4th grader could ask for in a Nintendo. I went through all the motions in wanting it with all my heart, believing it was too good of a gift to actually have so naturally I wasn't going to get it. That led to a depressing acceptance in my mind until I unwrapped it on Christmas morning and nearly passed out from the excitement.
If Harbaugh really does come home, I picture the same reaction on my part but magnified by 100.
Jim, please be my Nintendo this Christmas.

Clicking on MGoBlog and then seeing a huge picture of Harbaugh made me stop breathing for a second...until I realized it was another update.
I have to stop falling for that.

Happy to have 11 wins. But I don't think this team is as good as their record. The offensive line scares me (sound familiar?) the running game is bad. But they continue to do stupid things. The muffed punt....trying to even attempt a punt block on 4th and 23. The only difference is the stupid plays haven't cost us games this year.

I love your Gator friends laughing about being irrelevant. Now THAT is funny. And the same for your Seminole friends, when their program was mediocre at best for a decade until Jameis came to town and got his Buckeye like wrist slaps despite rape charges, breaking and entering and other character issues. CFU fans, I'm not even bothering.
In answer to your original question, I live about 20 miles from Ann Arbor so any Harbaugh talk I do with fellow M fans. But almost all of them still have doubts that it's going to happen. I think they have the same mentality as me in that it would be too awesome so naturally it won't happen, we can't have nice things, yadda, yadda, yadda.
With the rest of the world continuing to say it wont happen, my desire to see them eat crow rises.

I have Harbaugh fever too and it's driving me nuts. And I can't listen to 97.1 because of the endless MSU fans screaming over and over that it's never going to happen and the YouTube related videos of Harbaugh with the comment section have the rest of the college football world chiming in that it's never going to happen....to go along with all the NFL experts saying its never going to happen.
I feel like Ralphie in the Christmas Story movie. I know what my dream gift is for Christmas but the rest of the world keeps telling me no because I'll shoot my eye out.

I think Fitz Toussaint's situation gave us a false impression of how quickly these things can get done. He went out in the second quarter against Iowa and was finished with surgery before the game was over.
But I guess a second ACL is different than getting your ankle reeattached.

What he did for us as a player makes me love the guy regardless of what happens. He was the QB when I first stepped foot in the big house at the age of 5. To this day, it still chaps Chris Spielman's ass that Harbaugh guaranteed victory in Columbus and was true to his word. I love that.
Not that I won't be majorly depressed...I would be. But I won't hold it against him.
I still think his sister has AWFUL taste in husbands but otherwise, he'll always be a Michigan legend regardless of his final decision.

Nothing left to do but pray.
I refused to let myself think of the possibility that this could happen...but now I want to. Not just having a top coach but to actually get excited for football season again. And to see sooooo many haters eat crow.
And picturing this board...when it's not 503, I'm seeing Trey Burk's 3 pointer against Kansas and Roundtree's catch in UTL kind of jubilation multiplied by ten. I want so badly to see this.

Minnesota ended up being better than anyone could have imagined but....Shane's performance was still pretty eye opening bad before he took that hit. (And yes, that jackass Gopher should have been ejected from the game.)
7 of 19 for 49 yards, 0 TD's, a pick 6 and a lost fumble.
The interception was tipped but the fumble was him simply dropping the ball. And while Minnesota was improved this year, it's not like they had a dominant defense. Illinois beat them and lowly Purdue put up 38 points on them. Even Middle Tennessee State scored 24.
I realize Hoke & Company could not develope players but I would still expect better numbers than...that.

Playing Eastern in basketball, unfortunately, always reminds me of the game at Crisler in 97. It was a week after we beat #1 Duke and it was Christmas break so not as many Michigan fans there. I think dad and I were the only Michigan fans in the upper bowl. The Eastern fans cheered so loud and the ones around me were a pain in the ass. One girl told me to bite her when I cheered a Tracker Trailer free throw.
We lost 89-83 in overtime. Blech.
Please do not repeat history tonight.
