The sad fact is of every year

The sad fact is of every year from 1998 to 2017, none have been elite level seasons despite the fact that many of those teams should have been, but Lloyd Carr's underachieivng mediocirty stopped us from being great even once from 1998 to 2007 despite haivjng the talent and scheudle to have a great team in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.

An elite level great team finishes with 2 losses or less with a Big Ten title at the end of bowls/CFP season. Never once since 1997 have we managed it.

That needs to change ASAP!!

Auotnonomous cars is one of

Auotnonomous cars is one of the worst terrifying ideas ever. We should not become slaves to machines. SKYNET is a perfect example.

Driving is something that humans should do. There are way too many variables to trust driving to a computer. You should never trust something on too large of scale with an infinite number of variables. If such a thing was capable, it would require AI which could bring a Terminator Skynet situation.

Automation belongs on trains, not piloting a vehicle where there are infinite possible directions to go.

It will be a cold day in hell before I would ever trust my life to a death machine robot autonomous car.

I am only 33 years old and I pray in my birthday wish this year that these death machine robot cars never become mainstream ion my lifetime (40-50 more years approx).

I am also so sick and tired of the argument that humans are terrible drivers. Most humans are good drivers. Yes thewre is the occasional bad apple, but they should not ruin the freedom for us all. And saying there are 30K detahs per year as an arguyment is flawed. There are 300 million cars on the road at any one time and that is a small number. And there are other ways to reduce it such as mandating all cars disable texting on your phones, bars be mandated to take keys away before serving a drink and only giving them back when they are sober.

Wake up everyone!! We should not be slaves to machines. Same way as I would not want a robot in my house. Robots asd lawyewrs sounds like a disgusting dystopic idea as well!!

Technology is great, but it belongs in the desktop, laptops, and phones. It should not be replacing humans for drivers or lawyers or doing household chores. The great tech is what we had in the early 2000s, but with much faster CPUs, RAM in higher reoslution more realistic videos. That's where it should keep advancing. Lets please wake up and not bebcome enslaved to robot machiones whether it be cars, lawyers, or anything else.

I was estatic about MSU's misery 3-9 season and in recruiting

SOme would say in prior threads that we are pilimg on now, but I do not care. They brought it on themselves with their smug and arrogance and mockery of Michigan in both football and basketball combined looking down at us as the dual major athletics.

I am also bitter that Michigan has never had any great seasons outside of 1997 in my lifetime as we never won  Big Ten Title and lost 2 games or les in the same season other than 1997 from 1993 to present which is my lifetime of watching Michigan football despite haivng the talent so many times yto do so and underachieivng under Carr whenever the chance presented itself where we should have been able to do it. And then the insult to injury we then go through Hoke and Rich Rod years and then MSU football's 2013 and 2015 season were better than anything we ever did under Carr outside of 1997.

Combined with the basketball situation and them haivng that run form 1999-2001 which included the NC in 2000 (our NC in 1997 was equivelent), but their 1999 and 2001 seasons even though they did not win an NC, were unfortuantely far better than anything we did in football under Lloyd Carr which made it so painful.

But ojh boy times are changing in football and Harbaugh will bring us the success we hve been longing for with a 1997 type seaosn combined with seasons of excellence with top 4 playoff finishes with 1 loss or undefeated seasons with Big Ten titles and no more underachieivng.

I do not feel the least bit of sympathy for MSU football and their implosion and they deserve all the piling on they can get especially given the basketball situation between the schools and their smug arrogance and much of what I alluded to above.

I got that way with Hoke and

I got that way with Hoke and Rich Rod flat out. Its disgusting that it would ever have to come to that, buit sometimes it is the only way out for the long term health of the program when chance has to be made.

I have not felt that way with Beilein because even though it appears 2012-2014 was the exception and flash in the pan rather than the norm, Beilein 2012-2014 run was by far more successful than anything Hoke ever did even though it was not quite elite nationally. but still very good nationally and flat out elite in the Big Ten. But since then, it has been an epic fall from grace to not evne close tyhe NCAAs to barley making the last four in to being down 87-57 against MSU at home which gave me Ellerbe flashbacks.

Something does have to change because it is clearly not working. I do not expect to be elite, but I expect to be good in the big Ten and solidly in the NCAAs every year.

Now in football, I expect to be elite and win a national title and be in a plethora of Final Fours with lots of 0-2 loss seasons. I would have been estatic with Lloyd Carr level success for our basketball program, but for football, we can and should do better than Lloyd Carr's seasons outside of 1997.

I disagree with that, The

I disagree with that, The 1998-2004 era was disappointing largely due to Lloyd Carr underachieivng. If you give Jim Harbaugh or Nick  Saban the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003 or 2004 Michigan football rosters, they may have won an NC, or at the very least contended a few times by losing 2 games or less with a Big Ten Title, something Lloyd Carr could never do with any of those teams despite haivng the talent relative to the teams on the scheudle those years.

Those teams all had way more talent on he offensive side of the ball than the 2016 team and as much talent on defense in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2004.

I agree. I do not want

I agree. I do not want another Lloyd Carr, and I seriously doubt Harbaugh is another Lloyd Carr. I think Harbaugh is as elite as they come and will take us to the elite program we should be unlike Lloyd Carr who never had one great season outside of 1997

Keep in mind Lloyd Carr only had one elite level seaosn at Michigan which was 1997. Extra special that year because we actually won the National title shared with Nebraska. However, he never had another season that was elite level. And no you do not actually have to win the NC to have an elite level season.

An elite level season means finishing with 2 losses or less with an outright conference title at the conclusion of bowl/CFP seaosn or espeically a 12-1/13-1 type season. OSU in 2006 got blown oit  badly by Florida, but still wnet 12-1 with a Big Ten title and a victory over us, but did not when the NC, but I would consider that an elite level season.

Lloyd Carr's 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2007 teams all had much more talent than Harbaug's 2016 team and yet they all lost 3 games always blowing 1 game and usually 2 to a team we had no business losing to. Lloyd Carr was a solid to decent coach but was not close to great plain and simple. When Harbaugh has teams in his mold with that level of talent as those years above or better, he will not have underachieivng 9-3/10-3 seasons and instead go 11-2 and 12-1 most of them unlike underachieivng Lloyd Carr.

I have been watching Michigan

I have been watching Michigan football since 1993 season at 9 years old. Yes there is tyimes were officiating may have been bad and could have cost Michigan a game or went against us when it should not have, but I will never blame the refs or claim the game was fixed until the 2016 OSU game.

That is the only game were the officiating was completely one sided and infair to Michigan. Yes there were othergames were the officiating may have been bad and a critical bad call cost Michigan thegame, but never was it intentional or no something that can balance itself out for both teams throughout the game until 2016 OSU game in Columbus.

The 2016 Michigan OSU game in Columbus officiating was the equivelent of the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals Game 6 Kings vs Lakers were they clearly wanted the series to go to Game 7 and Lakers to win. The refs clearly wanted OSU to win and did not call the game fairly. No other Michigan game loss I will lay the blame on the refs.

Hoke did not turn around Ball

Hoke did not turn around Ball State. That is the biggest myth anyone ever throws around. He took over a mediocre to slightly below medicore Ball State team from 2000-2002 and made them worse.

He had an outlier season in 2008, but when he left Ball State imploded severely. Even if a bad coach takes over, if a good foundation is in place, there is not a severe implosion from 12-2 to 2-10 in only 1 year. Since an implosion happened, it prioves Hoke did not build a good team and foundation there.  The implosion will happen eventually, but not an an auto pilot 1 year if a good foundation is left in place. Case in pont Brian Ellerbe (terrible coach) who took over for Fisher had a good first season in 1997-98 and then our basketball program tanked after that.

Now SDSU, on the othe hand you could make an argument that Hoke turned them around. They were horrible and Hoke made them somewhat respectable and they continue to be semi-decent.

Hoke overall is a bad coach and never should have been hired based on his Ball State ineptitude which was really bad and everyone seems to forget how much he sucked there from 2003-2007 and only remembers 2008.

I'd be fine being bad at golf

I'd be fine being bad at golf to be elite in basketball. Hockey I want to be good at though.

I care most about football, then basketball a close 2nd and hocket a close 3rd. I would care care about hockey equally to basketball if it got as much national exposure and recognition which it does not.

The other sports like golf, softball volleyball, etc.., I do not care at all about and have no interest in them.

Its all about Michigan football, basketball and hockey for me as a Michigan Wolverine fan.

I like Golden State, but hate

I like Golden State, but hate Draymond Green and his Spartan propagnda. Draymond Green such a punk for taking shots at Michigan football. He didn't even play football and shoukld stick to his own sport.

I also do not like Lebron and hate his Ohio State antics and ahte Ohio teams in general, but espeically Ohio State.

Golden State will win and they are the better team ad good for them as I like all of them except for that punk Draymond Green.

I am glad he is staying on for CFP

I want that whole Alabama staff in place and no loss of coaches so ensure they are as ready as possible to thump MSU.

If they happen to win the NC,

If they happen to win the NC, what you said will become a terrible sad reality. If they lose to Alabama or in the NC game, then the run they have been on is more comparable to what Bo did.

Lloyd Carr brought us 1997, which wa shigher than anything Bo ever did, but Bo had so many seasons that were way better than anything Lloyd Carr.

Lloyd Carr was quite disappointing outside of 1997 as we lways were a 3-4 loss team and never any Big Ten title without at least 3 losses.  Sucks but true and I cannot handle it.

The run Douchtonio is on better than anything we ever did under Carr outside of 1997 and I myself like you and other fans cannot handle it either. It is practivally making me want to bail on college athletics.

If MSU does win the NC, it would aitomaiclaly make Douchtonio better than Lloyd Mo and Bo as he would have that plus the run Bo went on, but No could not quite get the NC even thoough he got close so many times. Sad but true. Save us Alabama!! Roll Tide.

5-6 years ago years ago, I

5-6 years ago years ago, I think just sticking it in cash and no investment at all because home prices were flat or falling and not going up and had al;ready fallen a lot from insanely inflated levels everywhere in the United States. Now unfortauinetly home prices are back to insanely infalted levels and seem to keep gouing up in most areas unfortunately. Now there is a risk if you do not investment home prices could go up more and the purchaisng power of the monmey will be reduced in terms of how muich home you can buy as home prices could be even higher in 2 years.

5-6 years ago, there was practivally no chance that home prices would go up in a couple of years time. Then suddnely in 2012, home prices started to  surge and got close to their peaks in late 2014 to early 2015 and may have stopped going up but do not know for sure.

I bought my home in 2013 and had to pay quite a bit more than I would of had I bought anywhere from mid 2009 to early 2012. But still significnatly less than peak prices I would have had to pay in SE Michigan which were around 2004-2005. Now my home is worth close to the peak and way more than I paid. I rusghed to buy a home because prices going back up bothered me so much and I never htought it would happen so soon, but as of the point of 5-6 years ago, it looked like it would take longer than it did, but if you wiated until early 2012 or even 1st quarter, to buy a house you were fine getting a bottom price deal. But if you wiated longer the bottom passed you, but in early 2013 when I bought it was a much better price still than the peakl por even Spring 20078 when the market started to crash. It was more like the late Summer early Fall 2008 prices when he market was crahsing hard, but far from bottom.

Yeah and it is so annoying.

Yeah and it is so annoying. And they are wrong stating they have won 6 NCs in the 50s and 60s. They won more like 2 shared and 1 outright for a total of 3. The others they claim were like one minor poll voting them in which was like 1/5 of a title at best. If that were the case, than Michigan can claim NCs in the 1970s and 1980s under Bo, but we do not.

Very tough call for me - But simply I want one in both ASAP!!

This is a very tough call for me. Normally I would say football, but because we have only won 1 NC all time in basketball, I think we need that 2nd one badly.

I am so sick of MSU fans and that ass/hat prick Mike Valenti claiming they have multiple NCs all time in both major sports whiole we only have 1 which is absolutely unaccetable. That asshat Valenti also claims we only have a half NC since World War II when we won an NC in 1947 and 1948 and World War 2 ended in September 1945. So sick of all the asshat MSU fans rubbing it on pour noses and enjoying our misery it makes my blood boil so much.

We get another NC in basketball, and MSU can no longer make that claim of being one of the only few schools to have one multiple titles in both FB and BB, even though they overstate their FB NCs in the 1950s and 1960s

But to put it simply, the answer is I want an NC badly in both the next 5-10 years to shut up all those MSU fansand say they have had more success in the modern era of college football than Michigan and rub it in our noses about how they won multiple NCs in the 1950s and 1960s and we only won 1 as if the modern era somehow began only in the 1950s.

So sick of the Spartans and Mark Hollis, Mark Dantonio, and Tom Izzo should be despised and spat on by any true Michigan fan if they were ever seen in public. They are the #1 enemies of major Michigan atheltics and it is not close!!!

Bingo.

No best case

Bingo.

No best case scenario especially with the record at 10-2 includes losses to thhose hated despised does in MSU and OSU, especially with the games being at the big House.

I would rtaher go 7-5 and beat one of them than 10-2 with losses to both especially since both are at home.

Losing at home to hated MSU and OSU is personal for me and much worse than losing to them on the road. But if we lose to them at hme this year, it will feel like a must win against one of them on the road in 2016.

This was not a nightgame.

This was not a nightgame. Neither were the 1995 game vs Miami (OH) nor the 1998 game vs Eastern Michigan.

Michigan I do not think ever had a night game at the big House prior to the 2011 UTL game vs Notre Dame.

The Saturday Night Football Moniker is a cool name which is probably why the OP is using it.

Some games ended in the dark at Michigan stadium, those 3:30 start times that ended late when it got dark.

But Michigan never had a true night game at home prior to UTL in 2011 against ND.
