I've been told commercial ppv locations (I.e. bars) are being charged $25 per person x fire capacity.
|1 week 4 hours ago||football evolution||
I'm always interested in how football evolves, sometimes in circles. The 46 was created as a counter to the power run offenses of the late 70s/early 80s. Ditka basically hires ryan to run the 46 to beat the Cowboys, Giants, and Vermeil era Eagles. Now as the spread is evolving back toward power running concepts, the 46 may see a resurgence, especially since the best way to beat a 46 is with a highly accurate qb who can hit wr's on crossing/slant routes in stride (aka the west coast offense). Up to now, the spread offenses have relied a lot of non complicated passing trees that count on numerical mismatches down the field. If D's are going to start countering power running spreads with 46-esque fronts and techniques, it'll be interesting to see if the next innovation on the offensive side will be to create hybrid spread/west coast offenses or go to the other extreme to beat the 46, mouse Davis run n shoot style offenses!

In the season 1 finale of Star Wars Rebels, the crew of the Ghost successfully (albeit inadvertantly) caused the star destroyer of one Grand Moff Tarkin to crash into a planet, although it was mustafar, and there's a distinct lack of desert scapes on mustafar.

but with Star Wars Rebels and these two trailers, I'm more encouraged than ever that Disney Star Wars is going to be as magical for the next generation of kids as the original trilogy was for me.

between having a TV- network dictate to you what the sport coverage should be and the sport dictating to the network how to cover the event. The Masters leadership purposefully keeps a lid on the amount of content so as to keep some of the mystique still involved. It's a marketing strategy that works for the people that own the event, and that's the only thing that matters. If the Masters leadership was into maximizing revenue, then they'd do more. As it is, they have different optimization variables, no more, no less complicated than that.

"Medical hardship" is an appeal to the NCAA where the school basically says the player is so injured / incapacitated from athletic activity that he can't play the sport anymore. The player has to agree to this. The benefits are that the student gets to stay on paid scholarship to complete his degree program, and the school gets to take that scholarship number off their active roster (i.e. "freeing up" a scholarship). However, the student basically gives up any claims to playing NCAA sports from that point forward.
Some of the scandal out of the SEC usage of this have been related to claims that the players weren't fully informed that they couldn't transfer or retain eligibility after accepting the "medical", or that their medical conditions weren't bad enough to warrant a medical hardship.

I was was geeked to try Mercury, and I was so disappointed, I never followed up with what styles the next planets were trying to go for. Granted I'm not a Belgian fan, so if that theme continued, then I would probably not like any of them.

to just redshirt him next year, and have a fully healthy 5-yr Sr Spike in 2016?? Theoretically we'll have Walton and maybe Levert back, MAAR off the bench, and maybe even Jaylen Brown. Especially if Spike's going to miss all his off season conditioning, how much would he contribute in that scenario? I can't remember if we have a PG in the 2016 class yet.

I'm a gonna leave work today and just for grins in Ol' Rosco's honor, take the Old Miller Road back home instead of the interstate. Sure it's dirt, poorly marked, has trees within 2 feet of the driving surface, and the bridge hasn't been fixed in 15 years. Let's see if the Ford Focus can finally make that jump.

|3 weeks 5 days ago||Additional comparison for Peppers||
In his prime Troy Polamalu. Line up damn near the LOS, but fast enough to track back into deep coverage at the snap. Plenty of inexperienced QB's this year will be tricked up by counting 8 in the box only to have Peppers drop in coverage after the snap and steal a pass. That type of versatility by a safety, including what Rod Woodson brought to the Steelers when he dropped from CB to S, is what can make a defense transformative.

that a formal association of the former players hadn't existed yet, in this modern social media age. I can understand during Bo's era or even Moeller to Carr not having a formal association, but after the RR transition, the Hoke transition, and the letter campaign last year vs. Brandon, I would have thought somebody would have brought the players back together by now. Harbaugh seems at ease with "new media" and networking in the modern age, so anything to bring more cohesion to the former player base and utilizing them as a combined resource is a plus.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||This is why||
if there's a Jeebus in heaven, the NCAA will follow through with the hockey committee chairman's suggestion to go to 1st and 2nd round tourney games to be at the home rink of the higher seed, preferably with 2 out of 3. I'm all for craziness in national tournaments to make them fun, but there has to be some reward and balance maintained for rewarding an entire season's work over a miracle 1-weekend run (as in our beloved B1G tournament). Tilting the odds in favor of the higher seed with a home game I think is a good balance.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||I'm not surprised or disappointed||
Copp to me was a disappointment. I didn't think his two way play was as strong as his reputation, and the teams inability to close the door on many games this year in the third period I put on the captain for not setting the example. His PP point play was middling at best... Basically I didn't think he was that great this year. If you want to make this an indictment of Red, I'm ok with that, but the players also have not been playing up to their potential on an individual executing his job level.

Obviously we have to win to be in, but there's a good shot Minnesota already has an at large locked in. They win, they're on the cusp of a 2 seed. They lose they're a 4 seed at large. Looking at the PWR, seems I was right in that if we had gone 3-1 down the stretch instead of 1-3, we're probably looking at an at large bid regardless of BtT final result. Uggghhh. Win or die indeed tonight.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Go get a club fitting||
It doesn't have to be at a hoity-toity place either. Golfsmith stores have the video gear / simulation facilities, a big enough selection, and typically knowledgable enough pros to make sure you get fit with the set that best suits your needs. I went there for a driver fitting last year, and I came out with a clearance-sale driver from last year's model set that the pro adjusted for me in the store 'cause I hit it the best based on my mechanics. The guy could have easily pushed me into a more expensive club since he knew I was coming in without a budget, but his focus was on matching my swing to the club and making sure the simulation metrics confirmed it. He probably lost out on a couple hundred dollars more in sales on me personally, but because of his help and honesty, I've probably directed 6-7 others to his store and they've made out increased numbers of sales.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||The biggest change I'd be in favor of||
would be the 1st and 2nd rd NCAA tourney round to be best of 3 at the higher seeds arena. Advantage to the higher seed for a better season, takes some of the 30-sided die roll aspect of today's tournament away (if you can win 2 road games in 3 days, you're a better team), and would be unbelievably fun atmospheres. Could you imagine the noise if say this year's Michigan team got in as a four seed, went to Boston University, and forced a Game 3 in their bandbox? Or if Minnesota got in and had to travel to Mankato?? That's like Stanley Cup levels of excitement dripping from rafters of venues that are inherently loud!
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I don't get the OSU objection||
They have two hockey arenas in the same city within 10 minutes of each other (Blue Jackets's arena), and frankly they still have other facilities on campus and in Columbus that can host wrestling / basketball games for the HS State Championship. Understood about CBJ's arena maybe laready booked for NHL games or concerts, but lets be honest, it's not like we have to worry about OSU HOSTING any games, amirite? Hell with the crowd OSU usually gets for hockey, they could move a potential hockey series to one of the three hockey arenas in Dayton and they'd probably draw just as much.
