On that drive Minnesota was running outside zone where their OL is stretching the defense horizontally. They either get the edge(didn’t happen) or they create cutback lanes when the front seven over pursue their gap. LBs and DT’s created an interior lane for those three consecutive gains.
I would really like to see ND beat USC from a playoff standpoint. Entering Week 7 and there are still too many threats.
It’s been said several times by various platforms that Michigan and ND have the most head to head recruiting battles at the moment. If ND loses 1-3 more, which is possible, things should only improve.
Who are prospects Michigan can flip or win out on?
Got into some Weller last night. Feel a whole lots better than I thought I would.
Question for the west side of the state: how available is Buffalo Trace in stores? Had a friend say he was going to make a run and pick up bottles for anyone wanting 1.
All throughout Harbaugh watch ‘22 we’ve heard(mostly from recruits and their families) that Harbaugh has been very upfront and honest about his intentions. It’s very likely he was transparent with Warde and the University during his dalliance with the league.
Wonder if Bellamy and Helow would be interested in moving positions?
Another thought- are Weiss and Helow guarantees to stay or are they more interested in going to the league. That’s mostly what Weiss knows and the Helow/MacDonald relationship has been mentioned.
Was a very solid duel for the grapplers. The 2 minutes of SV, after 7 minutes in regulation, was one of the best sequences of scramble wrestling with Amine maintaining his cool and finishing with the TD.
Massa’s resilience paid off and as others have mentioned nearly recorded the pin with a sweet Can Opener.
I’m glad that BTN is starting to get into weekly matches at this point of January.
“He also doesn’t throw the ball on time. The offense seems predicated on him making plays.”
Agree. His footwork needs work. He’s not ready to deliver the ball at the top of his drop. Hitches at every drop back. That said, he’s not being brought in to play anytime soon and this is the type of prospect you bring in to the room. He is a good athlete and built very solidly.
Good take in a 2 QB class in between a McCarthy and possibly Moore.
The NG in most base 3-4 defensive philosophies is what you mention. However, if you don’t have the immovable object (ala Ted Washington, Casey Hampton) then you can play a single gap slant approach. Remember, this defense played an odd front sporadically the last two years. They will need to recruit for a cycle to get this position on campus.
You’re right with the part about if he stays. He will totally play the “I want to be here, I was never going anywhere, just focused on the task, getting the team better one day at a time”.
You caught a very important point. There are talented coaches all over the country at many different levels. But not all of them are a fit to translate that into success in Ann Arbor. It’s a unique place that people cannot define or solve at the moment.
This is the big question. With recruiting being at the top of a staffs necessary skills. Scheme, and X’s and O’s can drive a less talented program to play better than they are on a consistent basis. But to be top tier, it starts and finishes with talent acquisition.
This is most likely the reason that nothing was done since last March. Rolled the dice on waiting until Covid subsides and then make an announcement. And now we are in a mess. I don't see him getting fired and coming back in '21. But I guess there is a chance he and the University make a peaceful split.
Not sure people's opinion of Henson, but an interesting read.

100% agree. Can’t get enough NCAA wrestling- amazing.
And… the Wolverines are really good.

Comment and a question-

Too soon
Let's clear this up by saying HAYDEN Epstein. Hayden.
This type of acquisition is awesome. Makes me wonder what it is in reaction to- Zinter and/or Keegan?
Yes, and Frye is the run game coordinator
When does the Lick My Butthole March arrive?

That’s sad to hear. 2010 was the last time I visited. That was one of the best thing’s about it.
Where in the Outer Banks? Just got home from Avon.
1. Haleiwa, Hawaii- God’s country. Gorgeous, untouched and peaceful. Great beaches and no one there.
2. BBQ- ribs and tri tip
Drinks- Coors Light at the moment. But I’d prefer a bourbon
Please don't be version 2.0 of the Nojel Eastern transfer
Once or twice a year someone posts something that reminds me that Nussmeier spent a couple of weekends in Ann Arbor. Jonesy gets thes honors.
Marotta’s! Place is fantastic. Great pizza
Who will be the DC? (Excited to see who they bring in and from where-NCAA/NFL)
Do they feel comfortable with the unproven youth on the DL or do they look to add?
Can the LB’s take the next step?
Will Bellamy stay on the defensive side of the ball?
Where will Helow end up? LB’s, safeties, in Baltimore?
Can the offense start the ‘22 season with the explosiveness they finished down the stretch with?
How will the QB position unfold?
Will the RT position be held by one player or will we see change(es) during the season?
Will the offense operate with more of a “never satisfied” mindset? Matching the scoring mentalities of Bama, Ohio st, Oklahoma.
Will Weiss be in Ann Arbor?
Will Bellamy be on the offensive side of the staff?

Probably Micic more so. He’s got time to turn it on.

Should be good news for Partridge

Was that the Christian Pace class?
Probably the Rich Rod years.
“…you are part of the problem”
exactly true Toby
Any reason why the Bowens (96), Horn (95), and Messner (85) seasons are omitted from this list?
Winner
Would be a big plus in the department
2 thoughts about going aggressively after Jones:
1. A player already hinted at leaving
2. it’s all about getting the championship and acquiring the talent to do so, even if it is at the expense of someone
More of these “rumors” have come to be quite accurate lately. Don’t have a good feeling about this at all. Really hope Worthy stays.
It was mainly the stuffed beaver on the sideline.

Minter and MacDonald on the same staff would’ve been a good thing. Familiarity in all things scheme, technique, and terminology would be a plus.
It is 100% this. John wants his brother to have success and get Michigan back to competing for Big10 championships. This is like insider trading.

Excellent point- nothing is guaranteed. Retaining Harbaugh, hiring Campbell, hiring someone else-non of these is automatic fix.
You’re right with the part about if he stays. He will totally play the “I want to be here, I was never going anywhere, just focused on the task, getting the team better one day at a time”.
Shepard’s got you down already? He’s a calendar year away.
Millie's Cookies, this is the first strong Hafley take. Good work.
He might turnout to be a good coach.
I think most of the Hafley fans read the 11 warriors article that the ohio fanbase "feared" him most at Michigan.
This feels like recruiting for EA Sports
Getting warmer......
That's why I don't believe all of those related comments. Sure the program and staff have issues, but i'm not buying the "toxic" statement.
Let me start by saying I'm not against looking a Hafley, but how many peoples infatuation with him is due to reading the 11 warriors article?

If you don't win enough (2004-2020) these start creeping up and get really loud
This has led to the vegas line moving to 4.5 for Wisconsin. Surprised it hasn't moved more.
