I remember some fat dude

I remember some fat dude ranting on the steps of Hatcher about we should all smoke pot and go apply for jobs at Home Deport.  Because apparently he pissed hot after a forklift accident at Home Deport and they gave his ass the boot.  So his plan to get revenge was for all the stoners to go apply, fail the test, and Home Depot would go broke because they had to pay for all the tests or something.

Hash Bash is about the worst possible look a pro legalization movement could give off. If my first very visit to AA had been during that event, I might have decided to look harder at other colleges.

If you can afford to wait and

If you can afford to wait and accept on lot stock, the best is to wait for a dealer to need you.  Manufacturers will do deals along the lines of "If you sell 80 cars in a month, we'll give you a bonus of X dollars."  With X normally being in the tens of thousands.

So what you do is go reigster a Google Voice number.  Then you go to a few different Ford dealerships, make it clear you can afford the vehicle and are interested, but don't necessarily buy.  Leave your contact info behind and let them blow up you GVoice, which sales folk do.

The last week or so of the month when someone starts really hitting you hard, that's the guy.  That is the dealership that is at two or three cars away from the number of cars they need to sell for the rebate and they really want that rebate.  These are the people that will potentially offer you under invoice pricing because if they're at 79 of 80, it's better to lose a few grand on the new car than lose that bonus.  At that point you go down to the lot and buy what they have on lot because obviously they need to seal the deal before the manufacturer deadline.

The big thing to protect yourself is make sure you can then go refinance the car with your credit union or such without a penalty.  Also when shopping, indicate you want a midlevel car and are somewhat picky on color.  Then when it's the end of the month and they only have a full loaded black one, you can take that one and demand to pay a price based on the midlevel options and a price break since it's not the ideal color.

Last time I bought it took three months and having four dealerships blowing up my phone, but I got a Cadillac for 4k under invoice and a bunch of bonus options on it.

Frankly I'm just happy to see

Frankly I'm just happy to see that everyone can discuss politics in a friendly and rational fashion.  Proving that the 'no politics' was clearly unneeded and from now on our off season can include intellectually stimulating political threads where we all treat each other with respect.  Isn't this wonderful news everyone?

Seems like you could just

Seems like you could just sell large swaths of space on the bad end.  Let people bring in coolers, etc and spread out.  Sure the view would be mediocre to bad, but being able to sprawl out would offset it to a degree.  Then just do a railing between that and normal seating to keep people from try to sneak the coolers/etc into the normally spaced seats.

Swenson got his offer and

Swenson got his offer and acceptance from Hoke, not Harbaugh though.  But was given the boot for not meeting Harbaugh terms, so I don't really how your analogy works.

This is more like getting in and the admissions officer telling you that you need a 3.7 or better senior year.  You get a 3.8, but still get the boot because the new admission officer has decided they only take 3.9s or better now.  After all Swenson did still end up a 4* composite with nother P5 offers, so it's not exactly like he slacked off to the tune of getting a 2.0.

You should focus more on

You should focus more on positives like this and less on tweeting at State players after the game.

He committed the one year

He committed the one year they had Fickell (as a freshman in high school), Meyer honored the commit up until the greyshirt request.

Bad strategic move by Brazil,

Bad strategic move by Brazil, keeps it in the news cycle.  Just issue a statement saying "Well we looked into Ryan's complaint and the video evidence doesn't support his story because it shows them just moving from party to party at the Olympic village.  At this time all we can confirm is Ryan's hair looks stupid.  We need additional informatiom from Ryan to move forward."  No way on earth Ryan goes back to Brazil, so in six months they can just toss the report as no additional action needed.

At this point if Ryan does recant, folks will just assume it was to spring his buddies from jail.  Plus it makes Brazil look insecure as hell.  Multiple coaches and athletes have reported crimes, Brazil's own police force was protesting about how unsafe it was at the airport, so even if you prove Ryan made it up or embellished it, it doesn't change the overall reality.

So many more people than just

So many more people than just these guys knew.  When Sandusky retired he was 55 (purely for comparsion Harbaugh is 52, Hoke is 57, RR is 53).  Sandusky was coming off some really excellent defenses yet no one gave Sandusky an offer.  I mean sure he said he wanted to focus on his charity (gag) but still that kind of coaching talent would have ADs desperate for a good coach at least throwing an offer in his direction to see if they could lucky and lure him out of retirement.  Yet he had nothing, I believe someone fairly high up was quitely letting everyone know this guy was radioactive.

Hopefully B1G drops the sanction hammer.

I'm not sure if you can say

I'm not sure if you can say it is Molk just because the stats match.  Say for example Brian wanted to write a tell all on sports blogging.  He might delibrately adopt a persona/false profile that fits very closely to say Spencer Hall or one of the 11 Warrior guys.  All the stories about blogging for a large fanbase at a state school with a national footprint still work, and because there are some breadcrumbs pointing at Florida or Ohio State, folks would run off in that direction.

Server upgrades, drupal

Server upgrades, drupal upgrades, CSS upgrades to allow better ad placement, fixing voting, it has all been talked about here and either not happened or taken much longer to implement than it should.  I see Brian tried Cloudflare today, but it didn't get the job done.  Perhaps MGoBlog Drupal needs to go the way of the Haloscan variant.  Drupal itself is never that pleasant and perhaps this site just has so many customizations it is time to dump it.

We could use the upgrade though, MGo used to be one of the better sites in terms of layout, stability, etc.  Now compared to Shaggy, /r/cfb in reddit, etc it is lagging behind.

Peppers vs Harvin would have

Peppers vs Harvin would have been a great thing to behold.

15 or so is ideal.  It means

15 or so is ideal.  It means there is enough field the safeties have worry about people getting behind them, versus crowding right up on the line for run support, but still close enough that a couple checkdowns or runs will net you a fresh set of downs right on the goal line.

Close, but in the Michigan

Close, but in the Michigan Blogsphere, WLA occupies that space.

You should really consider

You should really consider pulling down the snippet.  We all know you got in and saw him, so it seems wise to err on the side of caution and inteperate his wishes about not being recorded to the extreme.  I mean I get you want to meet him, but if this behavior was the norm for Michigan fans, they'd end up needing to hire a department's worth of off duty cops for security simply to keep Harbaugh from being swarmed over by people who want to shake his hand.

I don't really see why you

I don't really see why you didn't just put that link in the opening post.  Opening post has no first name and a last name that while not Smith or Jones level of common, isn't uncommon either.

Over the course of the thread, in multiple replies, you provide links and context that make the information relevant and useful, but your opening post is useless in terms of standing by itself.  Or basically while b^3 might come off abrasive, the whole thing is avoidable with better formatting and more information included in the first post.  Starting a topic and telling people to Google for information and context on the conversation you chose to start is just bad form.

Braylon did a flip once while

Braylon did a flip once while while running out of the Victory formation.  I still remember seeing Lloyd immediately get him on the sidelines and get in his face.  Didn't see Braylon in the Victory formations for some time after that.

My knowldge is a year or so

My knowldge is a year or so out of date, but when we looked around epub options, we discovered that the idea of a strict and standard format is still a dream.  It's like the internet used to be, with specific customization needed for certain browsers or in this case epub readers.

http://calibre-ebook.com/ was the tool that kept bubbling to the surface as a way to convert ebooks and get them working on various devices.  Amazon also has its own publishing platform specifically for Kindle.   We found some specific issues in terms of taking something optimized for a Kindle and tossing it on a Samsung tablet, but if you're not doing anything too tricky the differences aren't horrid.

I can sympathize with her

I can sympathize with her point to some degree.  My semi-desirable (not Palo Alto, Menlo Park but also not Santa Clara) Silicon Valley town was running at 1.8x the national cost of living and buying absolutely murders your savings since the real estate specific cola is 3.8x and large amounts of cash down payment or all cash transactions are the key since it is always a multiple offers environment.  I had to go up to 55% down to finally win a bidding war and that hurts in many ways.

Plus CA is rough in that it has a high sales tax and a high income tax.  Normally you get one or the other (or they get you on property taxes).  On the hand plenty of pay offs for living out there, have to take the good with the bad.

I can see being somewhat salty when the Aid office merely looks at your parents combined income and goes "Nope."  Although to play the poor me is in bad taste because no one that level of income is hurting in SV by any stretch and her whole clothing is a complete "What the hell?".  However I did run into plenty of folks who assumed that six figures automatically means you have suitcases filled with 100s just lying around your home and how I wish that was the case.

Since it is unpopular

Since it is unpopular day...

I would honestly support the hiring of Charlie on the administrative side along the lines of what TJ Wheist does.  For all this flaws at fielding a balanced college offense and clock managment, you can't deny his skills.  He made Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen look like viable pro options to the point people drafted them and churned some NFL WRs as well.  Mid to high six figures a year as Passing Game Quality Control Guy.

It's also amusing in that WD

It's also amusing in that WD spent time in hot water for a Twitter rant.  I guess he can relate.

You are welcome. The book You are welcome. The book came out after her tenure so it didn't have to be a super serious academic text. You might even be able to get it via the public library.
Actually less at Harvard. Actually less at Harvard. When you first arrive the divide is clear. Because Harvard is more success at encouraging networking via societies, dining clubs, and also provides large stipends to low income students so they can participate, come graduation fewer members of the senior class have weak ties. Thus their graduates place well (this being one of multiple factors) and the institution's rank benefits from it. Plus it reduces drop outs which harms the rank.
Boiler Room Boiler Room
I would direct you to the I would direct you to the book 'Paying for the Party' by Dr Elizabeth Armstrong, who also happens to be a tenured professor at Michigan. In summary it shows that the first gens and lower income leave large schools such as IU or Michigan with social networks that are weaker. You can tell the wealth of someone by the clothes they wear, the car they drive, the fact they can put up a 150 dollar tab at the bar every Fridaly, etc. While people are not so gauche as to check your bank account at the door to a paty, you will also fail to make it into certain circles if you cannot display certain markers of wealth and status. With that you being the typical result. Some will overachieve just as others underachieve.
The Tranell Morant resume has

The Tranell Morant resume has Zook and Erickson's cell numbers in the reference section.  I really hope those guys have Google Voice numbers they give out for these kinds of purposes or something, because if that is the actual private cell line, ouch.

That Vegas, as always sets

That Vegas, as always sets its lines and attempts to control them in such a manner that they make money, not because they want to accurately predict the future with them.

Gundy when Pelini is

Gundy when Pelini is unemployed and on the market?  I suppose you can argue that Gundy did a bit more with a bit less than Pelini, but Pelini has a remarkably high floor at Nebraska, the ceiling just wasn't quite what the program wanted.  Pelini also has roots to our prime recruiting ground and such.

The only reason Gundy seems more attractive is we've never seen him to lose to teams we care about, but if you're at the stage where you are calling Gundy's agent, why not call Pelini's agent first?

Les's agent.  He's a pro at

Les's agent.  He's a pro at this phase of the game.

I mean I'm not shedding any

I mean I'm not shedding any tears over Hoke's looming depature, but it strikes me as unfortunate timing we have a post titled to celebrate his depature on Thanksgiving.  Would have been classier to go with a Hate Week themed item.

This game really challenges

This game really challenges Brian's assertion that coaching the Raiders would be a worse gig than cleaning up this mess.

Has anyone ever seen Braylon

Has anyone ever seen Braylon and Funchess together at the same time?  I mean think about it.  You have drop prone Braylon who is no longer playing pro ball due to his injuries.  Then you have a Braylon-lite drop prone and often gimpy Funchess.

Bowl eligible just means more

Bowl eligible just means more practices for Hoke to screw around with.

We excel at the super

We excel at the super physical hit, after the offense has secured the ball and the yards they need.

We are in a tied matchup with

We are in a tied matchup with a guy we once laughed at for leaving UConn for Maryland.  Ouch.

We were driving in the third,

We were driving in the third, headed for the potential of being up by two scores and now, sad trombone...

It's simple troll or stupid

It's simple troll or stupid person logic.  The fact that RR got Casteel and also had a year off to think about the fact his defense consistently regressed at Michigan means we never should have fired him.  Not to mention Gibson moving over to a non coaching role before leaving 'Zone entirely.  None of RR's growth could have come from his year off and time to reflect on what went wrong here.  So if we'd kept him, we'd be winning NCs right now clearly.

With Denard I'll agree, but

With Denard I'll agree, but Devin has shredded B1G secondaries depsite the fact he has never had a dedicated QB coach and constant OC changes.  The current model of Devin we see on the field is not a great passer, but there was potential somewhere in all this.

Reflecting on Denard and

Reflecting on Denard and Devin, on one hand it is awesome we've brought in a pair of explosive QBs.  However it seems to have cost us the ability to mitigate QB mistakes.  John Navarre or early career Henne both had flaws but the ten other guys around them could cover for them.  Whereas now it's totally dependent on one guy being hot every place or else pretty much doom.

You should wait till the 4th,

You should wait till the 4th, I might be drunk enough to find you funny at that time.

If we donate Hoke to a seal

If we donate Hoke to a seal exhibit at an aquarium as opposed to firing him, we can avoid the buyout?

I wonder which 6-6 team we'll

I wonder which 6-6 team we'll bowl against that is going to crush any hope or misplaced pride that tOSU will fail to crush next week...

That's not horribly untrue.

That's not horribly untrue.  They catch a couple of those slants and they'd have eight more points at least.  Their QB is just having things bounce off the WR's hands, we're nowhere close to that functional.

Man you have to scrape the

Man you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a highlight reel on this game.

Some safety action, both

Some safety action, both these offenses are bad enough.  Our D-Line is good and Gardner likes to run in the direction of our endzone.

Also, it assumes we still

Also, it assumes we still stopped them on that 3rd and 2 without the timeout.  Otherwise Maryland is +4 in points as well likely.  It's annoying we need to call those kinds of TOs, but given the product on the field it was not a horrid decision from a game management viewpoint.

BTN sucks, their studio

BTN sucks, their studio volume is 40% louder than the announcer game volume was.  Equalize that shit people.

I think I'm going to use

I think I'm going to use halftime to order a nice smoked meat sampler box for Borges with a custom "I'm sorry about most of the means things I said" note.
