His rap is bad. It's funny. And he ditched MSU to do it, which is also funny. I know people round these parts stress that we should ignore MSU and pretend they don't exist to prove we don't care about them, but lets be honest - that's hard to do when this sort of gold keeps digging itself up. And anyway, they have been pretty good at football lately, so I don't really feel like pretending that hasn't bothered me. I want to laugh at their misfortune a little, my sparty malice meter is higher these last few years than it's historically been, and they earned it. When they are well and truly relegated to nobody status, I'll stop caring. For now, I kind of hate them. |

I love that the Charity Bowl features 'Make Spencer Eat Cheese University' (MSECU) - if you look at the comments section, they even have a mascot & a fight song: Meats leave you bloated

I hope our tiny eaglet grows into a fierce raptor. The bird kind, not the Toronto kind. They are bad. |

Exactly right. Wear your colors, sure, he will notice that. But the best thing you can do for your colors is to back them up with class, grace, and respect. We can rag on Ohio all we want, because screw those guys, but when it comes to actually interacting with them, you simply have to be the best person you can be. It's just the right thing to do. |
| 6 weeks 22 hours ago | Nope. Relishing the tears of |
Nope. Relishing the tears of the vanquished is just part of sports. It's no big deal, it's not like you're celebrating a person losing their job or falling ill. It's just sports. This is what we do - everyone wins & loses. You feel good, you feel bad. You get to dole out some pride in victory, you gotta take your medicine in defeat. You can't be too sensitive about everybody's feelings, because it's honestly not that important. It's just sports. It's better to not be a bunch of assholes, but it doesn't mean you have to carefully navigate the minefield of human emotion to avoid offending the enemy. |

Watching this tournament has made me want to go shoot a basketball, just to see the arching trajectory again and hear the sounds of the ball rattling home, swishing through the net, and (more often than not) clanking off the irons uselessly. This team has helped me regain a huge appreciation for the aesthetic of the sport. |

| 6 weeks 2 days ago | I, too, am utilizing wardrobe |
I, too, am utilizing wardrobe continuity to give us the maximum probability of victory. I've worn the same shirt for each of our NCAA tournament games so far. I accidentally washed it with a bunch of other laundry before the Syracuse game & I was terrified that I screwed us, but everything turned out ok. In fact, I have watched the games in at least 4 different locations, with various other factors in constant flux - beers drank or not drank, solo or with friends, etc. I'm starting to think maybe our team is winning because they're talented and well-coached or something ... |

Not only is this poem clever & entertaining, but it's also a very complete summary of the key events in the game! Except not only did it include the things that happened, but how we all felt about it at the time. I will be able to read this years from now & remember how it felt to watch this game. |

| 7 weeks 5 days ago | I think so? I'm not sure. |
I think so? I'm not sure. We won, though. I feel happy. Belein = good. Edit: Ok ok I should expand a little to be thoughtful. It seemed to me like one of the biggest things Belein did well was to get Jeff Withey away from the basket on defense. We didn't always make the shot, but by pulling Withey towards the perimeter, it allowed McGary to go all McGary in the paint. Which, as we know, was huge. I guess I believe that Belein deserves some credit for getting McGary's production today. Awesome stuff. |

| 7 weeks 5 days ago | truly a noble endeavor. I |
truly a noble endeavor. I abstained from posting in the game thread, but I can tell you, I did not want to believe. I was afraid of getting my heart broken if I believed. but I stayed tuned in the whole game, experienced all the frustration & agony, and then finally the unbelievable relief & bliss. I can't say I stayed optimistic. that would be a lie. but I stayed hopeful. and holy crap am I happy! |

| 8 weeks 3 days ago | I have also played |
I have also played competitive soccer at a number of levels, and while I agree that the sport, in its purest essence, is a tough & physical game, I would also have to agree that the culture of professional soccer is a little bit "princess-ish". So to me it's two different things - a great game full of beautiful action that I can't stand to follow due to the terrible implementation of rules and the subsequent total corruption of the spirit of play. |
