Let's take a quick look at…

Let's take a quick look at the top 15 offenses in college football and the general schemes they run:

1. Oklahoma - No huddle up-tempo spread

2. Ohio State - Power spread

3. Alabama - Pro-style 2-back with spread elements mixed in

4. UCF - spread

5. Memphis - Mixed, but mostly spread

6. Houston - Spread

7. Clemson - Spread

8. West Virginia - Spread

9. Oklahoma State - Spread/Air-raid

10. Ole Miss - Spread/Air-raid

11. Utah State - Spread

12. Texas Tech - Spread/Air-raid

13. Georgia - Pro-style

14. FAU - Spread

15. Georgia State - Mixed spread

Notice a trend? The pro-style, "manball" offense only works if you have 5-star talent all over the field (but especially in the trenches) ala Georgia and Alabama. And even though Saban prefers a pro-style, he doesn't hesitate to spread it out and start throwing it all over the field if he has to. The faster Harbaugh realizes that this is what is needed to succeed in college the better. Good offense will ALWAYS beat good defense and we need an offense that can keep up with the Ohio States, Oklahomas, and Clemson's of the world. Until then, 9-3/10-2 will continue to be our ceiling.

No, I still think we beat…

No, I still think we beat Wisco, PSU, and NW and lose to MSU/OSU. That's 9-3, chief. Just because I think those three games will be difficult, close games, doesn't mean I don't think we win. I actually would include MSU as a toss-up game as well, but I just have a feeling we don't win that one.

I still have 9-3 with losses…

I still have 9-3 with losses @ MSU and @ OSU. @ Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Penn State could all go either way though. I think we win the rest with relative ease.

I think we come out flat

I think we come out flat today after the heartbreaker on Tuesday. MSU 64-51.

Dan Capron's crew (from the

Dan Capron's crew (from the OSU game last year) officiated the Iowa/Nebraska game today, so at least it won't be him. Hopefully it won't be the O'Neill crew, but for some reason, they always seem to get big games.

I guarantee we either get

I guarantee we either get this crew or the horrible John O'Neill crew for the Wisco and OSU games.

Is it just me or do the rims

Is it just me or do the rims at this place seem incredibly tight? Lot of in-and-out shots on both sides

and now we can add Louisville to the major screw-jobs this year. Why does it seem like were are almost never on the good side of these debacles?

Louisville's size is scary.

Louisville's size is scary. If we let them get as many second chances as OK State did, this could get out of hand quickly if we aren't torching the nets.

While NW and Rutgers are not

While NW and Rutgers are not intimidating environments, The Barn most definitely is. And even though Nebraska is not a good team, Pinnacle Bank Arena is also not an easy place to play.

The remaining schedule is bit

The remaining schedule is bit too hairy for me to feel comfortable:

vs. Wisconsin - Wisconsin has looked a bit vulnerable recently and we played them tough in Madison. This is a great opportunity to get a marquee win. WIN

@ Minnesota - Tough road game. Minnesota is much improved and I don't necessarily like our chances at the Barn. LOSS

@ Rutgers - lol. WIN

vs. Purdue - Purdue is not a good match-up for us. LOSS

@ Northwestern - This is a toss-up in my opinion. Northwestern is obviously much-improved but not without flaw. LOSS

@ Nebraska - Nebraska is always tough at home, but I think we squeak one out here. WIN

Regular Season Finish: 19-12 (9-9 Big Ten)

If this plays out I would say we need at least one win in the BTT; two to be comfortably in.

Over the last two games,

Over the last two games, Irvin is averaging 2.5 PPG 2.5 RPG, and 2.5 APG with 2/18 shooting, including 1/8 from 3. Bench his ass.

Michigan 69 Indiana 62 - we turn a corner tonight

I think we need 8 more total

I think we need 8 more total wins (including the B1G tourney) in order to guarantee a spot.

Michigan 67 Nebraska 64. This

Michigan 67 Nebraska 64. This is a must-win game.

This was a game that we

This was a game that we needed to win

Iowa is not a good team this

Iowa is not a good team this year, but for some reason we always play like dog shit at Carver-Hawkeye.

Likely FSU. Potentially

Likely FSU. Potentially Louisville though since Florida was FSU's best win and they looked horrible today. Louisville also beat them by 40+.

Obviously wanted the CFP, but

Even though I think we are truly a top 4 team this year, we didn't take care of business when it mattered. Obviously wanted the CFP, but I can't be too pissed with an Orange Bowl and the opportunity to embarass an ACC team.

Oh and fuck Iowa.

Our schedule worries me next

Our schedule worries me next year

We have an opening game in Arlington against Florida, a game against Air Force and their triple option, and three tough road games @ Indiana @ Penn State, and @ Wisconsin. We get MSU and OSU at home, but MSU should improve significantly, and OSU is going to be absolutely loaded next year and I fully expect them to be 11-0 heading into The Game.

Our young guys are going to have really step it up. Honestly, I think our ceiling is 10-2 and our floor is 7-5.

Probably 4 or 5. I truly

Probably 4 or 5. I truly think Louisville is a better team than Clemson and would beat them on a neutral field.

1. Alabama

We didn't deserve to win

We didn't deserve to win tonight, but John O'Neill continues to show that he is the worst referee in the country.

Damn impressive

Also surpise, but not more

Also surprising, but not more baffling than Tulsa.

How did Tulsa seriously get

Even though I'm a huge Broncos fan, I think NE takes the AFC 24-21

Carolina 33-19 over Arizona for the NFC

Rutgers is the worst team in

Rutgers is the worst team in the Big Ten

We really need Caris for this

We really need Caris for this one. Our last couple of trips to Iowa City for BBall have been rough and coupling that with a team that beat Purdue and State on the road, this could get pretty ugly if we aren't hitting threes.

Probably 1-2 with a win

Probably 1-2 with a win against Maryland (although we'll need a superb game for this to happen). I'm not sure why, but it seems like we always get our ass handed to us when we go to Carver-Hawkeye so I'm not too confident with that one.

Very interested to see how

Very interested to see how Donnal plays against that insane Purdue frontcourt

I don't see good fortune for

I don't see good fortune for much of the remaining B1G games. Many of them are not favorable match-up wise.

USC over Wisconsin 28-24

Alabama over MSU 35-17

Tennessee over Northwestern 27-21

Michigan over Florida 21-17

Ohio State over Notre Dame 30-17

Stanford over Iowa 34-21

Georgia over Penn State 34-24

Big Ten is currently 2-1 (wins by Minnesota and Nebraska, loss by Indiana) so I got the B1G finishing 4-6 overall.

Way too many things going

Way too many things going against PSU in this one. It's in East Lansing, Cook might be back, and PSU's sieve of an offensive line against Calhoun and MSU's D-Line is such a mismatch. But, hey, weirder shit has happened.
