There is something nostalgic or a certain charm about watching sports in an outdoor stadium. I don’t know what it is, but I prefer it, even when the weather is horrible. I just feel like I’m part of the experience when I get wet/cold/sweaty/hot/etc
I had a GF many years ago whose family had season tickets to the Bears. But they hated going to games with bad weather. Because of that, I had free tickets to Bears games anytime after Thanksgiving.
One of JB's rules is that he would not offer a kid until he visited the campus. I'm not sure if that we a good or bad thing, but just a thing many people on here thought was outdated.
I have it on good authority that in Chicago, there was really no way JB was going to land a top recruit out of Chicago unless he played dirty. I suspect that was how it was with most big time recruits.
Let me say this. I was definitely in the camp that Dusty May was an over-rated hire. I equated him to Archie Miller: good coach who made his mark at a smaller school, but didn't have the chops to handle the big stage.
With that, I'm super impressed in how he's put together the roster. I'm thinking we make the tournament this coming year.
When you put it in that context, it hurts even more. Michigan used to be QBU, and we couldn't lock in the top QBs the past few years. I get that times change, but lets hope that our approach is not a flash in the pan approach.
I think we'll end up just fine, but with that said, I am expecting more than finishing in the 10-15 range. Winning the NC should help us, but we'll see what happens.
I have to say, it really sucks that we couldn't close on Bryce Underwood. The overall #1 recruit in the nation just down the street with such strong connections, and we couldn't close.
I came oh so close to “marrying the enemy”. She was from Shaker and went to OSU, but didn’t care at all for sports, so the relationship was manageable around football season. But I just couldn’t get past the fact that she went to OSU.
Not for me! To put this in perspective, I think Tiger Woods is a shitty human being, a sociopath to be more precise. But I can acknowledge that Tiger is the best golfer ever. I'd pick Tiger over Nicklaus any day of the week.
Definitely not a safety issue. But with that, I do think Detroit is not a great city to host major sporting events outside of the standard pro team game.
I'm an adventurous eater. I've eaten horse, camel etc. When I spent a summer in SE Asia and I tried "bugs" because it was a common fare. It was the only time in my entire trip that I had to take cipro. Never again.
So. I’ve watched exactly 0% of women’s college basketball this year. But I have noticed all these transfers. Someone in the know tell me: is this bad and what does this mean for Michigan?
I agree, I don't see a perfect fit with Michigan, but if what the poster said above is true (in that Cal reached out to us), I'm not sure Dusty May is a better hire compared to Cal in the short term.
But there we people on "the edge of internet" stating this as such and that Michigan may be a candidate for him. At the time, I was thought there is no way he'd leave Kentucky for Michigan, but perhaps we were wrong on this.
I don’t envy the mods on their role. With that someone here mentioned an automatic 2-day ban for bringing up anything politics related. Enough to be annoying, but not overly punitive. I thought that was a good idea.
