...because you're white. You're not allowed to feel offended even it was supposed to be offensive or else some politcally-raged poster will call you out for it.
In all seriousness, you werent supposed to be offended, because despite using antiquated and played-out stereotypes, it was a likely a compliment.

Took someone that had a 1% chance to walk again and...made him walk again.
Plus, he has his own show.
|23 hours 7 min ago||I know...||
...I really took this thread south :)

I think you forgot an "/s" at the Ned of your post.
|1 day 37 min ago||So...||
...after reading down a few posts, it seems we are skating dangerously close.
|1 day 1 hour ago||I know you don't mean for it to get political||
Also know that:
discussion of inadequate team chemistry + undertones of racial segregation + coach using the word "oreos" = political powder keg waiting to go off
We'll see what happens - I hope we can stay about the fray

|1 day 11 hours ago||Obvious question is obvious||
What was the stuff that was not to be repeated on the Internet? Come on man, throw us bone!!!
|1 day 17 hours ago||#1 in our hearts!||
Seriously though, tough question. Hard to be objective when answering this. I think there are probably a good 20 or so coaches I would rather have over Hoke. I guess that puts him on the cusp of a top 25 coach.
To be clear, I don't want to fire him this year (unless there is a meltdown) - he deserves his 5 years.
One way I like to look at this is think about what other schools would rather have Hoke over what they currently have. I understand there are factors, such as fit, that look beyond the pure performance aspect, but looking at it this way helps you get to an "objective" equilbrium on his overall ranking.

I guess you don't get out on the internet much...

...embroidered on the wall hanging that covered the safe in the wall. The OP took some liberties in the quote by adding the word "football", but no big deal.
|2 days 22 min ago||I meant recant||
In that to recant the idea that Hoke's job is as safe as people think. I wasn't clear on that (sorry, typing from my phone)
|2 days 1 hour ago||Then there is no hope for you in this discussion||
Because no matter what I say, you'll get defensive about it and file it under "fairy tale" or "bs".
|2 days 11 hours ago||Then you love for Hoke IS relevant||
Because it's blinding you to the performance of the teams he fields and how it impacts people of influence, including DB.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Um...no||
His seat is definitely warm. It's not hot, but its warm. And I have some good sources to confirm that. I won't go over it again, since I have recounted my information several times on this board.
This is definitely a "make or break" year. He won't get fired this year (unless something REALLY bad happens), but it will set the tone for the folllowing season and how DB will handle any contract extensions.
I know you love Hoke. But, cummon man!
|3 days 24 min ago||Not trying to argue||
But has Hoke ever won a conference title as a head coach? A quick wiki search says no.

...I actually did live in Michigan for a little while...in Saginaw...and I went to Heritage for a little before moving to Chicago. Having experienced several different high schools, Heritage was by far the worst when it came to sports. Soccer was decent, but every other sport sucked really bad.

....however, I think Tokyo is one of the most over-rated cities I have been. Maybe its because a lot of stuff got bombed out during the war, but I found it to be uncharming for a big city. No doubt, probably the safest cleanest big city I have ever been (next to Iceland) and there are certainly some interesting places to see, but overall I just found it too culturally sterile for my tastes. To each their own, I guess.
I tell people that a weekend in Tokyo is enough. Spend as much time as you can in Kyoto.
|1 week 11 min ago||The Blue Lagoon...||
...was pretty cool. I went there first. After my road trip was complete, it was clear that it is likely Iceland's biggest tourist attraction. It was very commercial and sanitized. Tourist buses were the norm. What's more, there was an OSU grad working there - he made it very clear to me (I was, of course, wearing Michigan gear).
What I'm trying to get at it is that, while totally awesome and worth going, the Blue Lagoon was probably the most "un-Icelandic" thing I saw. The charm of Iceland lies in the pure, uncommercial and untouched nature that surrounds them. You can easily walk to places that no one human has ever walked or seen before.
Fun Icelandic fact: Only 1 million people ever in the history of the world can say they are from Iceland.

Rented a car and drove around the entire island with some inland trips. One of the most amazing trips I've ever been. And I've been all over the world. Highly highly recommend it.
|1 week 21 hours ago||Illinois vs Michigan rivalry||
I'm convinced a good portion is derived from those Illinois folk who did not get into Michigan, which creates the same level of jealously that insecure people get after being dumped by a hotter person.
I will say that this "rivalry" has definitely cooled in the eyes of Illinois faithful over the past 5-10 years. The harassment has certainly subsided and we (Michigan) are becoming just another school in the big ten in their eyes.

Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words, will not only save the NCAA, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA

Cuz if Hoke ever caught wind of what Urban said, all Hoke is gonna do is say, "well..." then clap his hands a few times and cross his arms.

Surveying those that say you should go to the game, I find it interesting the amount of qualifiers you need to rationalize the decision.
