...I agree for the most part. I went to Ross for MBA and it was the best decision of my professional life. Many JDs came over to Ross because they figured out the shit of having a career in law.
The only negative is that Ross (like most top MBA programs) don't really accept students right out of undergrad. Gotta get about 5 years of good experience.

I can go for days about this. (Just like I can go for days to convince people that Roger Moore was the best Bond). The way I see it, its who play's the character that makes it. Blofeld was played by 4 people. Personally, I think Telly Savalas was best.
On the flip side, I thought Michael Lonsdale was phenominal as Drax. The movie was average and I didn't like Drax as a villian per se, but it was a good performance by the Michael Lonsdale.

Please remind where anyone in this thread (including myself) said that JB should be fired.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I guess you and I have...||
...different ideas of what "inflammatory" means.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I get it now||
JB has a Lloyd Carr "untouchable" quality about him. You can't even give one ounce of constructive criticism without being jumped on. I should know better.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Yawn||
You sound like Izzo.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Pump the brakes!||
Read my post again. I simply critqued JB's coaching this year, that's all. I made no inference to wanting him fired. I have not turned on him. I hope he stays.
Take five, man.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Of course it wasn't his fault||
But those are really just excuses for some bad coaching this year. The perplexing coaching decisions (i.e. autobench, inbound passing schemed, etc.) have been discussed in length here, so I won't rehash it. These things more or less kept us out of the NIT.
Amaker had no problem making the NIT every year, but one (the sanction year would have made the NIT) with average recruits and middling coaching. JB hasn't made the NIT twice.
As mentioned, I like JB. I'm not advocating that he gets fired. I hope he stays as long as we wants. And I hope he learns from this year. Next year will be interesting to say the least.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||If we don't even make the NIT, well||
That's gonna really sting. No one to blame but JB for that. I love him and all, but to not even make the NIT is pretty embarrassing.
I guess we can drop that Kentucky '13 comparison. At least they were an NCAA bubble team and made the NIT.
I'll be hoping for a miracle this weekend...
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Or...||
...it was because of some poor coaching that these kids are not better positioned to earn these awards.
I like JB, but this year was perplexing with some of his coaching decisions. I agree that the deck was stacked against him, but we are about 5 games below of where we should be this year.

Have been going there for almost 3 decades. For years, I would put their burger up there with the best in Michigan. They were very quirky about things. Until very recently, they did not have lettuce or tomato on their burgers. In fact, they didn't even have those things AT ALL in the place (i.e. no real salads there) and you were not allowed to bring your own lettuce and tomato. They also didn't serve coffee for years.
I think the burgers are too dry nowadays. Still decent, but really need to bring back some of that old mojo.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Sigh. Au Cheval is good...||
....but not the best in Chicago/Illinois. For the purests our there, it's a fantastic burger. However, try Edzo's or Kulas Korner. Way better in my opinion.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Not really||
I would put LC in the "talent, no coaching" camp. While certainly not as bad as Hoke, LC was notorious for underachieving with the talent we had.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I strongly disagree||
It's not great by any stretch, but it's not bad. And since they are expanding the lanes, they are expecting a major growth in that part of the burbs. So it could get interesting in the coming years.
|4 weeks 50 min ago||I'm really missing the "well" count||
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Of course they do!||
That's not the point. We were #17 (probably not the most accurate ranking at that point) at home and they were...NJIT (RPI in the 200s at the IIRC). That was a straight up embarrassment.
Rationalize it with injuries doesn't change that.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||My worry is that we are Illinois circa 2005||
Great recruiting (D Williams, D Brown) coupled with some surprise senior contribution (L head) lead a talented Illinois team to the ncaa finals.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Doesn't matter||
We should NOT have lost to that team, even without Walton.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Poor marketing on the consortium!||
They could really use a Ross grad to help them through that :)
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Really? News to me...||
I click on the web site and one of the first things I see is...
"Our mission is to reduce the underrepresentation of African Americans, Native Americans and Hispanic Americans in education and business."
|5 weeks 3 days ago||So what you are saying is that your Ross degree...||
...helped you excel in your career? I gotta say, I need some clarification. You are saying not to do it, but you are also saying that it got you a foot in the door into a top consulting firm and a good career trajectory.
Not knocking you, just curious. Perphap I missed the point.
