Or lead to a place where it might be paraphrased?
|6 days 20 hours ago||That's kinda of the point||
Michigan has to reach far back to show relevance. We are not really relevant now (to some extent). Wisconsin has a lot more recent success that resonates more with kids.
But I'm with a lot of folks. All it takes is the right coach and we're back, baby!
|6 days 21 hours ago||Just listening to it myself||
It was really bad, because it was mostly true. They really held nothing back and it was painful, but at least they backed it up with some stats.
|1 week 18 hours ago||There may be some merit here.||
But its very minor. Hear me out.
My perception during the RR era and definitely during the Hoke era (and somewhat during the Carr era) was that it was OK to lose to OSU more often than not. I don't know what it was, but we accepted this fate - that is was OK to be second fiddle to OSU. We stomached OSU defeats by rationalizing moral victories and other such excuses.
We didn't really demand anything more from our coaches in this regard. This may why incoming coaches might say something like this.

...is the only person to be simultaneously respected by Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer and Bill Brasky.

But that's not the point.

The UC is very close (I.e. Walkable) to the west loop, which has some of best dining and nightlife in the city. Beyond that, things are a cab/cta ride which isn't too bad. Having been to NYC and msg countless times, there is MUCH more to do around the UC than msg, at least stuff that is worth doing.

....what did you expect?
When you strip away the layers of politics and other such biased judgements, and look at this from a purely objective stand point, you will see that Hoke performed just how he should have. He was always a mediocre coach at best (probably always will be). And that is exactly how he performed here.

I like it. It's in the same category as scUM, notre lame, dick rod, dicktonio, urban slimer, etc.

Not trying to pile because I generally agree with you, but "gracefully" and "(Brady) Hoke" should never be mentioned close to each other.

|3 weeks 2 days ago||Does Harbaugh have his name on a building?||
As an FYI, neither of my sources is any Harbaugh
|3 weeks 2 days ago||To be totally honest||
I have two really good inside sources. One source has his family name on one of the buildings on campus (most of you know the building). Last year, they told me that a sizable portion of donors were getting "antsy" with Brady Hoke, enough so that Brandon started putting out feelers for a new coach before this season. (in a similar fashion he did for Nuss). I told the board this, and I got negged to Mexico City (not quite Bolivia). According to them, Brandon's leash was getting short and he ABSOLUTELY could not mess up the next hire (if it came to that). One guy told me about a week before DB's "resignation" that he was going to be let go in the next couple weeks. What I'm trying to say is that these guys know some juicy tidbits and they have been right about several things in the past. I trust them.
So, what are they telling me now regarding our current situation. Bubcus! One guy says he doesn't know much, and the other clearly knows something but won't tell me.

Have you not seen the numberous objective analyses regarding the development of our players? Some of this coming from NFL scouts. I'll give you the cliff notes' version: Hoke and co. are doing a lackluster job developing talent. Plain and simple. This is not my analysis, but it doesn't take a football expert to see the "fruits" (or lack thereof) of Hoke's player development. Sure, there are some nice examples of positive player development, but the question is if Hoke is getting the most out of them. I think objective observers are saying "no!"
"I hate this meme that this board keeps saying. It is hurting recruiting, other coaches can point recruits to this board and say Michigan fans don't think thier coaches can develop talent"
Do you really think the opinions and analyses by posters on this board has any impact on recruits? I'm confident it doesn't. And if it does, it negligible.
"As fans of Michigan we should do our part to make the team better and stop tearing it down."
My job as a fan is not to make the team play better (at least not in a direct manner), that is the job of the coaches and the players. My job as a fan is to show up and cheer like heck for them to win.
