Ryan Mundy sighting! (Holding penalty, he made a nice defensive play though. Good for that young man.) Also, no Denard yet :(

Good Ol' Chad Henne with a solid drive for a field goal. He showed some mobility evading a sack (reminsicent of the Florida game... kind of.)

That's also clark at 1:55 though right? he's a damn monster.

I remember thinking in '09 and even '10... if we only had the '08 defense, we'd be significantly better (we would have gone to a respectable bowl game.)

Call me nuts, but I think the 2007 team would beat the sugar bowl winning 2011 team 7 out of ten times. (I know i know... struggle against mobile QBs).
Actually, the more I think about it, those would be fun games to watch. In many ways I feel that 2011 season was a gift from the football gods to say sorry for those rose bowl matchups against Texas, and USC.
If we'd only blocked that FG at the end!

Heading up to lake placid NY with my parents and siblings (5 and 3) before I head to Seattle for my summer internship. I sound like I'm 18 but I'm 29. I just apparently live like a college student. MBA life is kind of awesome at times, minus the debt and no income part.

I went to a rutgers game a few years back. My memory is a little fuzzy after this MBA Rugby world cup at Duke (shameless plug), but I have to say i thought i remember taking a train out to NJ, then still having to take a shuttle bus from the train station to High Points Solution Stadium. Remind me, are we really not going to play at Metlife? HP Solution stadium is super small.

I have to say, lots of international folks i've met are intrigued by american football. I'm a diehard baseball fan, but you have to admit, football is just easier to understand and watch.
I'd say one additional challenge though, would be athletes (or the NFL) wanting players risking injury for the Olympics. Also, how many games can you get in? It takes a few days to recover after a game.

I know I've been MIA for a while, but holy cow guys take 'er easy. Am I the only one who has 99% confidence Hoke is going nowhere?
I honestly don't think Borges is going anywhere either, fwiw.

Well, as long as BTN or ESPN doesn't air this, we should be fine. Sparty can't read.
|43 weeks 6 days ago||Not necessarily, he has to||
Not necessarily, he has to alter his running stride to avoid the trip up, which, impedes/obstructs his ability to run as he otherwise would have been able to. In theory, here he would have to high knee or leap over the fielder.
|43 weeks 6 days ago||I really don't think this||
I really don't think this call is controversial at all. It's only controversial for Red Sox fans. By any objective measure, the call was spot on. For anyone thinking the runner tripped on purpose, do note he turns around and moves forward, so he didn't run into the 3rd baseman intentionally, in my view.

Call me crazy, but I actually liked what I saw out of Devin Gardner today. Had some bad turnovers but rebounded much better than I thought he would have.

I'm just wondering how that'd even go down. And does this happen during the game? Do we at least have etiquette to do it in the locker room at half time?
|47 weeks 1 hour ago||I want to see the boys making||
I want to see the boys making big hits on defense, and swarming the ball. Offensively I just want to see the o-line get push (obviously) but i want Devin Gardner to be quick and decisive. Same for Fitz at RB, I want him to have and choose the right gaps. I want to see a back up RB emerge as well.
/Hangover rant over
|48 weeks 5 days ago||It was Jehu- and that was||
It was Jehu- and that was right in front of me. I think the ball had more zip than he thought. to be fair, i also thought Devin floated it, but in reality it was a tremendous pass, Chesson just needed to continue with his route.
|48 weeks 6 days ago||Absolutely seemed to be the||
Absolutely seemed to be the case. After Desmond Morgan had that game saving interception (IMO), i started a chant "Des-Mond Mor-Gan..." No one bit. I kept doing it for at least a minute. That to me, was the most frustrating of all. One guy did bring a cowbell, but i only heard him use it a handful of times. (Maybe 2-3 times.)
It was surreal that our Michigan Wolverines were playing on the east coast... I can't wait for Rutgers next year. My friend's dad (donor @ Rutgers) is saying they're talking about moving the game to Giants Stadium- which I think would be smart.
|48 weeks 6 days ago||For those who watched on TV-||
For those who watched on TV- can someone explain what the atmosphere looked like, what our O-Line looked like? From my seats it was hard to tell why we struggled to run the ball.
I posted in another thread but it was at least 50/50 michigan, but we as a fanbase did not bring it- we needed the band there.
My Cool Starry Bra story: I saw buses being escorted to the stadium... and then a regular car following them (By regular i mean white infiniti).... the driver was none other than Dave Brandon.. or someone who looked exactly like him.
|48 weeks 6 days ago||Don't be fooled, It was at||
Don't be fooled, It was at least 50-50 michigan, but these Michigan fans were like the odd cousins you have that you rarely see. For example, I was working hard to get chants going, but no one was biting... it's as if they didn't know them. I told fans next to me to start wearing Maize in the future- it stands out on TV, and it's easier to band together etc.
We really needed the Michigan band there to bring the noise and some cohesion among our fans. The Cheerleaders were decent, but we really struggled until the fourth quarter (as a fan base.)
Their fans kind of suck to be completely honest. Not violent or anything but not hospitable- you get that cold northeast stereotype thing going.
tl;dr: Our fanbase/alumni showed up in person, but left a lot to be desired in terms of making noise. UConn surprised me with how engaged they were, but their fans are meh.
