Jordan Kovacs rips it up, right in the Lions backyard, three-time all big ten player and he goes undrafted? What part of game saving tackles and interceptions does the NFL not like?
There were 21 Safeties taken in the 2013 draft this year. Here is a look at how Kovacs performed during the UM pro day three cone drill and would have ranked at the combine.
Keep in mind that the three cone drill at the combine is literally a combination of everything a player needs. It tests power, linear power, circular speed, multi directional speed and breaking.
Kovacs Three-cone drill: 6.62 seconds (1st of 14 Safeties)
That is a fast cat fellas. Dude can stop and go and get to a spot in no time.

10 non-smoking football players + 1 non-smoking football player = 11 non-smoking football players
Which could comprise a football team.
It won't work if you do 10 non-smoking football players + 1 smoking football player because there is too much running in football and smokers cough when they run. I tried doing the math a few different ways, it just doesn't work.

Would you rather have a smoking punter chasing a return man as the last man to beat?
Or would you rather have a non-smoking punter chasing a return man as the last man to beat?
Team rules are important beacause they make the team stronger.

The kid has talent.

How would we start working towards that expansion? Do we wrap around the brick colliseum to cover the north and south end zones, or do we do an outdoor seating vertical end zone expansion similar to what they are doing with Lambeau this year in their S. end zone?
I do like the idea of getting closer to a solid 140,00.

And gentlemen, please feel free to root against Pitino's horse: Goldencents
There will be no refs at Churchill Downs bailing this horse out of an empty gas tank at the mile and 1/16th pole.
Sorry Rick, your horse is going down! Study up fellas, for the next few days it's all derby, trifectas, superfectas, boxes and wheels.

It is one of the nation's biggest convention cities. So, they may want to incorporate the stadium into their convention facility, in a fashion similar to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
If so, maybe it is more than just a sporting event facility, which could help make the case for a new investment downtown. I'm speculating, but it wouldn't be a surprise if that's one of their non-sports targets.

Quietly hanging out with Sparty, Wisconsin and Iowa.

Anyone want to buy a yellow parapet steel "halo" full of Michiganisms? We have the world's largest out back under some tarps. Free if you haul OBO.

The Senate thing was just a stupid rumor.
That being said, it makes me think that all future AD contracts need the following safeguard clause:
Congrats, you did not destroy your brand today via a self inflicated "kamikaze" death spiral into the side of a mountain, please don't do it tomorrow.

But the lembas is tasty?
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Sorry||
Recently, beginning in 2011, one significant Notre Dame home game is aired during the 7:30pm time slot per year, and this year it is USC.
The 9/21/13 Notre Dame vs. Sparty game is a 3:30 pm kickoff on NBC.
All of the other Sparty games are TBA. However, if Sparty runs the early season gauntlet . . . Western MI, USF, Youngstown State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois?
Is that even a football schedule?!
I guess Sparty could end up on primetime television as some sort of consolation prize for having the weakest schedule in the history of college football.
Seriously, someone needs to look at this thing, the 2013 Sparty schedule is a total hilarious joke. It looks as if a Big Ten team decided to pretend they were in the Mountain West or something. They avoid Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Penn State. Wow, thanks, let's have a playoff now, I guess.

Are you afraid of the dark?
|1 year 30 weeks ago||What||
What about Jabrill Peppers?
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Your Right||
Man, I would take a Ty Law 2.0 any day as well. Both Wolverines are certainly worthy of the NFL Hall of Fame.
But your right, if Peppers is being targetted for offense and special teams, that certainly wasn't Law's area of expertise . . . although Ty's three super bowl rings and 53 career NFL interceptioins also got the job done.
I generally thought Jabrill Peppers was going to be used as a Cornerback, but that 10.77 second NJ 100-meter dash record and his highlight tape certainly makes you wonder.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Or how about Ty Law 2.0||
Here is a quick snapshot of some of the very greatest defensive players Mattison has coached: I'm missing quite a few as I only focused on NFL franchise All-pro credentials, but he has obviously had a chance to coach some of the greatest defensive players in the history of football. If you start adding all NFL players and college greats . . . the Mattison list gets much larger.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Calvin O'Neal||
It's not easy to break through the Oosterbaan/Charles/Carter blockade at the C position. However, that being said, Calvin brought a dominating intensity to the Linebacker spot that made him one heck of an All American during Bo's early years.
|1 year 30 weeks ago||Amani Toomer||
Could also be thrown on the A recievers list. He had a pretty nice stat line in the Super Bowl a few years back.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Want to talk about the Lions?||
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Seriously?||
The sort of good news here, regarding not showing up on time, is that this is a problem throughout college football. So, it's not specifically a Michigan issue.
However, that being said, if you can't show up on time to enjoy a fall Saturday in the largest stadium on Earth. If that stadium experience doesn't work for you, then you might as well not bother. In fact, don't show up, because I'm guessing your the lowest common denominator and everyone in your section will suffer.
There are going to be 115,000 people there, join them on time and put down the damn pom pom!
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Look||
As much as I like the Hinsdale Central Red Devil Helmet's Horn's, I think a set of maize wings might be just what the doctor ordered.
I hope Ian likes the idea of playing in front of 115,000 people in the greatest stadium in all the land.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Who are the Lions?||
Weird. Never heard of them.

We are actually levitating 971 feet above Everest, to be exact.
|1 year 31 weeks ago||Let's Do This!||
When you take the thirty thousand foot view of the current state of Michigan athletics, you quickly realize that you are actually levitating 71 feet above the 29,029 foot summit of Mt. Everest, next to a space whale, geting to watch Coach Hoke climb the greatest mountain with a bunch of athletes in Winged Helmets.
This is really happening, and we are about to absolutely take it to the opposition, under the lights, in the World's largest football stadium.

|1 year 31 weeks ago||Exactly||
Leaving after your freshman year isn't what it used to be. The NBA is full of giant veterans and journeymen just waiting for the first opportunity to send your 19 year-old self packing for the Belarus B League.
Take advantage of the rookie scale, insurance and time commitment that is given to those who return and get drafted higher the next year.
|1 year 32 weeks ago||I would vote to rotate the banner like Google's homepage||
Have a bunch of approved banners from both sports. That way you can feature a bunch of different athletes and coaches within the structure of the banner logo/brand.
|1 year 32 weeks ago||Man||
He straight up flew on that 1st dunk. Eye level with the rim dude!
NBA likes that!
|1 year 32 weeks ago||Congrats to THJ! Best of luck in the NBA! Just like your Dad!||
It's the Sophmore's team now.
If McGary and Robinson return (with Stauskas), it provides them an excellent opportunity to prove that they are worthy of being picked somewhere from 1-10 in next years draft.
If you get drafted there, obviously, you get a much greater financial commitment and development commitment from whatever NBA team picks you.
Here is hoping they stay and take advantage of the opportunity, just like Burke did, and end up being rewarded in a similar fashion.
