So I came up with the ticket spreadsheet a few years back. I always planned to do something better. Now I have twins, so I don't have time. If someone wants to program a new solution, I bet it would be appreciated.
Until then, I plan to selfishly attempt to promote a new tab I created on the ticket spreadsheet to enable mgoposters to sell/trade Michigan memorabilia. After my twins were born, a few generous people sent me hand-me-downs. Living in Columbus those were hard to come by.
I'd like to pass on the good will, so I'll be listing the clothes they can no longer fit. I'm guessing this would be something that would be useful to many of us as I see the overwhelming support a new family member is announced.

I had never heard the name before today. I live in Columbus and have had like 10 people facebook/email/text me about his story. Is there any possible fire at the root of his smoke, or is he just a loud mouth with no content?
IE - should I be worried ?

Very few times this is actually relevant/related.
|6 weeks 3 days ago||So complex||
If someone is doing this by hand, it would blow my mind.
I was a huge band geek in HS, and was really proud of our marching band. My best friend and I petitioned the director to let us write a drill for our senior year. He told us he would consider it, but warned us of how complex there were.
We were both top 5 in our class (inner city high school, so thats not as impressive as it might be elsewhere) but this was one of the hardest things I did in HS. We thought we had it perfect, and the director gave us 2 practices to team it to see how it would go - and as he predicted it was a disaster.
Attempting to teach kids who have been drilled for years exact timing and spacing to march at different speeds than the person next to them does not go over well. Our crossing patterns completely fogot to take into account the length of a trombone. What on paper had been brilliant (in our eyes) was a disaster on the field (Hey- Al Borges!).. After 5 weeks of re-design we finally had an acceptable version. I put more work into that drill than I did my AP physics class.
Whether written by hand or by computer what these bands are doing these days blows my mind.

The last stunning upset is a pretty easy call in my mind - Kansas in the tourney.
I haven't felt that good about anything in Michigan sports in quite a while.

Worst- kordell Stewart hail mary.
Scariest- the browns playoff game against the steelers. Wore a browns jersey and was literally crowd surfed away by a crowd of drunk steeler fans.

So in a display of incredible lack of ability to plan, we scheduled our family vacation to end the same day as the Notre Dame game. I will be halfway between Hilton Head and Columbus b the time the game starts, and it appears that is a dearth of not only places to watch the game, but even any kind of decent accomodations where I could stay and watch the game overnight. Any reccomendations?

My twins are 5 months old. Prepare for the hardest thing you've ever done.
A few fellow mgousers sent some little girl MGoHandMeDowns, so I can certainly send the ones my little girl has outgrown your way if you are interested.

I second the suggestion of Thurman's. Its quaint, local, and delicious. The burgers are not only ridiculously large, but actually taste good. They also server deep fried pretzel bites.
I had schmidt's for lunch today, they have a sausage buffet unequaled in my experience. Way too many jokes to be made, so I'll leave them to your imagination.
Although nowhere near the Horseshoe, Columbus does have one of the 2 best zoo's in the country. While some claim it is the best, I'd still take San Diego every day. They do have little leopard cubs right now that are adorable though.

My personal favorite is a small pseudo-touristy place called La Refufe Des Fondu. As the name implies, its a fondue joint. However, the kicked is that they server you wine from baby bottles. You'll leave in the best of spirits, and a memory that will last a lifetime.
The place is 2-3 blocks from Sacre couer. If you have some time in the area, I highly reccomend it!

As someone who lives out of state, I appreciate the heads up. The clearance items aren't my style, but maybe they are for someone else. The last time moe's had a sale like this I cleaned house with what many others disliked.

2 years ago, all we had was a European directv package for my father in law to watch soccer. I used a hdtv antenna for network shows.
I managed fine with netflix until football season came aroud and half of the Michigan games were on espn, or btn. (live in columbus so Osu took the network spots usually.)
If you have sports covered, you'll be fine.

That's the rule for ribs. The longer they cook at a lower temperature the better they will end up. Ribs are also tricky because of size, and many grills don't maintain a consistent temperature through out the grill. Learning to control charcoal was too much work for me, but the investment in a nice Weber grill did wonders for mine. It has 3 gas controls so I leave the center one off to remove the possibilty of flame ups.
The best ribs I've ever had were from a guy who smoked his ribs with charcoal from Hawaii and wood from a rainforest in Fiji or something. I think he said he smoked them for 8 hours.
|24 weeks 5 days ago||pigfoot||
I used to make my own, tried many different recipes and realized my wife and I share a palate that appreciates spice and scovilles more than most.
Then one time at the jazz n ribfest I decided to try as many sauces as I could. I came across a stand called pigfoot and asked if they had a sampler with all their sauces. They said they didn't prepare any with their killer sauce but hed open a bottle. He warned me most people didn't like it, but I was in love immediately.
It turns out I love all of their sauces, and can't make anything that competes on my own. Their killer sauce is great for heat, and kids LOVE their applivious. Their sweet has won numerous competitions here in central ohio.
I entered a rib cookoff last year, during the power outage the weekend of the 4th , and even without all my stuff got 3rd overall (out of 42) and won the kids vote. I combined a couple pigfoot sauces and added some passionfruit wasabi jelly we brought back from Hawaii...
I actually went to the home of the owners of pigfoot and bought a few gallons. They were nice enough to give me a few tricks that have made my ribs much better:
Now I know this won't be accepted, but if in a hurry drop your ribs into a pot of boiling water with bay leaves for 10 minutes before smoking/grilling. You won't win a competition, but will have tender ribs in 90 minutes.

I had a 32 back in 1998, best friend had a 35.
I got offered about 12k/year to go to UM (woulda been a walk-on to the tennis team, so that may have factored in.. ) Nothing that would blow me away, but not average HS student either..
I do believe the scale has since changed.

While were talking about important things in life, validation for significant lurking would be nice. Many are fervent readers, but infrequent posters. Someone who has been visiting the site once a day for the last 4 years should be entitled to start a thread just as much as the idiot who has posted 'AWESOME' 100 times.
Just a thought.
|28 weeks 3 days ago||Question:||
Would this camera result in better stills of the games? (not complaining about current ones....) if so I could be convinced via kickstarter to throw in a few bucks...
I know nothing of photography, but do love great in game photos.
|29 weeks 17 hours ago||Possibility||
Maybe what he means is that he expects that his RB should be able to consistently have more success one on one against an undersized CB than the bubble screen would? This is dependant on a RB that is either big enough to just bowl him over, or agile enough to make him miss... Lets hope Green is both.
|29 weeks 1 day ago||Welcome to the club||
As a 3 month veteran of the father of twins club, let me first congratulate you, and then warn you. The next 3 months will be one of the most challenging times you will ever have.
I barely remember the first month our twins were alive, I think the part of your brain that is able to store memories shuts down when it is completely sleep deprived. This is advice #1 - forget day/night, sleep when they do. I don't care if its 7am or 4pm or 9pm, sleep when they do.
You want to be a great father to them, and right now the way you can do that best it by being the best husband you can. Your wife will be even more stressed than you are, and will have twice as much responsability as you do - so do what you can. Wash the bottles, change the diapers, learn to swaddle them quickly.
But most importantly, ignore 99% of the advice you receive. Your children will be like no other children before or after. We swore we would never sleep in the bed with our twins, but after 36 hours of no sleep we fell asleep with them on our chests. I honestly believe it was the right thing to do, because it was the only option.
We too had premie twins, and you will be flooded with information about how to best take care of them. They may eat fine from your wife's breast, or they may need formula. They may sleep fine, or they may need hours of kangaroo time.
Should you hit that moment when you havent slept for ages, and they are both crying and you can't figure out why - just remember everything you went through to get them. The moment will pass - and the twins will be okay. Should you in a moment of weakness ever contemplate how much easier having just one would have been - NEVER EVER EVER voice it. Trust me on that one.
Find your local twins club, they will have tons of useful information. Parents of multiples are eligible for quite a few discounts - enfamil and similac will both give you a free case of formula. Hit me up if you ever have questions.

The closest thing I've seen in real life to this was Wally Szczerbiak at the indoor pool at Miami University. He stood far beyond NBA 3 point range and made something like 45 of 50, with the first 24 in a row. We would chuck the ball football style to him, and he made shots over and over. We were just screwing around, but it was that day I realized he wasn't your average MAC player..
