In theory you need 0 regular season wins to make the NCAA tournament - so long as you win the 3 to 5 games to win your conference playoff.
I guess besides the $$$, it gives every team a glimmer of hope.

It does seem like a difficult sell that the resorts "brand" is damaged, considering that the resort previously mentioned that their bookings were up compared to previous years after the incident - no doubt from the free publicity.
I do want to see the frat get hammered hard, just I don't see the resorts brand as damaged.

Weis is set to get paid $4.6 Million during the 2015 college football season, which might land him in the top-10 highest paid college football coaches for the year while he sits at home eating cheeseburgers from his couch.
What is hilarious, is that Notre Dame will have paid him nearly $19 Million dollars after firing him.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Even the Luck year he brought||
Even the Luck year he brought in a player as a ATH/QB.
Counting him, Harbaugh averaged just over 2 QBs per class. Hoke averaged just under 1 QB per class.
Hoke's first 3 years we got 3 star Bellomy, Nobody, and 5* Morris who didn't play his senior year. That is a horrible 3 year showing for recruiting the most important position.
Harbaugh is doing a great job of building the position up.

I wonder how his mom feels about Ohio State lying to him AND oversigning?
I wouldn't mind seeing fans and the players themselves (like Weber) stand up and do something about schools lying and oversigning.
Weber needs to do what is best for him and maybe that is attend a school that is neither OSU or UofM.

We didn't recruit Alabi? Rivals and Scout both show that we offered him.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Ohio State has won the last 3||
Ohio State has won the last 3 recruiting battles at Cass Tech against us - Weber, Alabi, and Webb.
It doesn't matter if Weber will be a break out player or not. Just because some of the past Cass Tech stars haven't panned out, doesn't mean future ones won't.
What matters is sleazey recruiting tactics like oversigning and lying to kids to get them to commit.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||I am sure Urbz is also||
I am sure Urbz is also keeping these kids in the dark about the fact that even if they have great grades and are saints on campus they can be cut due to his oversigning if they don't perform well on the field.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I bet you also believe that||
I bet you also believe that if they could have, they would have played Mike Weber in the playoffs against Alabama and Oregon - despite Weber not knowing the playbook, not having been trained or coached up by the OSU staff, etc...
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Are you really that naive?||
Are you really that naive? If you have to lie to yourself and others to try and maintain your integrity - then you've already lost it defending your BS coaches.
Hey, hopefully Weber transfers somewhere else, it will help your oversigning problem so you don't have to justify your coaches breaking some other poor kids heart.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||And when Michigan position||
And when Michigan position coaches know that they are leaving literally the next day, hopefully they won't pull an OSU and lie to the kid.
It doesn't bother your concience that you are excusing oversigning and now lying to kids so that Urban Meyer can win? I would be ashamed if my school acted like this and would speak out to try and change it - not look the other way like you.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Weber, you may as well||
Weber, you may as well transfer to another school right now and sit out for a year.
Ohio State punched you in the gut and will most likely red shirt you or give you minimal time this year anyways.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Oversigning is unethical -||
Oversigning is unethical - until Ohio State does it and you rationalize it away.
You over signed by 3, you are stuck hoping that 3 will transfer under their free will or.....get injured...so the Buckeye coaches won't have to pressure someone to transfer or drop out.
Ohio State oversigned. Admit the obvious fact.

Good point. OSU has 4 DEs in this class and Alabi is ranked 4th of 4 per rivals. It may be in his best interest to move on for playing time...that and he would have to live in Ohio for 4 years.

I think we'll be fine.
I'd put the over under on new 4/5 star recruits at 2.5 and I'll take the over.

|4 weeks 3 days ago||Bill Nye did a poor job of||
Bill Nye did a poor job of looking at the evidence.
He missed the fact that it was heavily raining and that the leather absorbs water and expands. This influences the pressure (PSI) of the ball downward. He has not responded to this point that was made to him and as a scientist he should respond to the point or drop his conclusion.
There are several experiments on YouTube, including from HeadSmart Labs that show a ~25 degree drop in a dry ball at 12.5 PSI that is also made wet loses about 1.8 PSI.

New England to cover and the over.
On a side note: should the NFL move the Super Bowl to Saturday night to make it more convenient to stay up late for most working people?

He has an offer from Dartmouth - I assume that the Ivy Leagues may bend admissions for athletes, but not drastically. He must be smart.

Tell your nephew that it doesn't matter what college he goes to. It matters who he is. If he continues to work hard and be an honest person he will find success no matter what college he attends. A study of students who were ALL accepted into IVY League schools showed virtually no difference in long term income between those that went to the IVY League Schools and those that got accepted, but went to a good public school instead.
With that said...steer him to Michigan, afterall, we have more majors and better graduate level programs for him to find his career from since he is undecided. :-)
|5 weeks 1 day ago||There are other experiments||
There are other experiments now. All showing the same exact effects on PSI consistent with the Patriots balls.
1) Does colder air lower a ball's PSI?
If a cold wet ball has more air pumped into it at halftime and the ball is still cold and wet when measured after the game - why would you think the ball's PSI should change? The ball at the end of the game would have a very similar temperature as it did at half time and a similar amount of water absorbed into the leather.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Are you denying science? Do||
Are you denying science? Do you not believe that colder air will lower the PSI? That wet leather expands lowering the PSI? Is there something that you disagree with in their experiment?
The footballs had more air put into them while cold and still wet at halftime...hence the footballs would retain a similar PSI when remeasured still cold and wet.
A guy going into a room with the ball bag is not proof of wrong doing and "if" he did let out air - it was minimal at best and certainly not 2 PSI, as science indicates that you can lose up to that much from the dry 75 degrees to wet 50 degrees.

|5 weeks 1 day ago||Of course the weather||
Of course the weather influenced the Colt's balls. People are ignoring a lot though:
1) Andrew Luck's balls started off at 13.5 PSI, Brady's at 12.5 PSI. The Colt's balls can fall 1 PSI and still be legal.

He has a nice offer list including: Texas, Alabama, Northwestern, TCU, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Louisville among others.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||You are wrong on one||
You are wrong on one point...the ref did inform the Ravens that he was ineligble.
#1 The replay clearly showed the ref telling the defense that Vereen was ineligble. Harbaugh admitted that the ref informed the defense that he was ineligble - John wanted more time for his defense to react to it. John wanted time for his defense to be able to figure out who was elgible and how to align to it.
#2 You can visually tell who is eligble and ineligble based on the formation, who is on the line, who is covered, etc...
#3 There was literally an announcement in the stadium - and I think the announcers also reported the announcement live too.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||FSU is more an indictment of||
FSU is more an indictment of the 4 team system.
How could you keep FSU out?
I would prefer to see a 6 team playoff so every major conference champion has a chance of making it in. The regular season would still be meaningful as it is difficult to finish in the top 6 and more importantly the top 2 teams get a 1st round bye giving great importance to finishing in the top 2.
Imagine this system:
(1) Alabama vs the winner of (4) Ohio State - (5) Baylor
(2) Oregon vs the winner of (3) FSU - (6) TCU
6 teams in, isn't letting in any obvious weak links. Every major conference champion gets a chance to finish in the final 6 and make the playoffs. Regular season still has strong meaning, especially to get a first round bye.
|9 weeks 18 hours ago||I see a lot of flaws in your||
I see a lot of flaws in your argument.
#1 Most of the guys you mentioned as having been coached up by Hoke, were already starters or seeing significant playing time BEFORE Hoke got there - Denard, Lewan, Omameh, and Schofield.
#2 Of course some players will develop well regardless if the coach is below average at developing players. A "D student" gets most questions correct (65%) - he is still poor at getting answers correct.
#3 Can you in good conscience tell me that the QBs as a whole were developed well under Hoke? Denard, Gardner, Morris, and Bellomy? What about the Oline as a whole?
#4 Statistics show that recruiting rankings are reasonable indicator of talent and success...5 stars are more likely to make the NFL than 4 stars, and 4 stars are more likely to make it than 3 stars and so on...of course many exceptions...teams that recruit at the top are much more likely to beat those in the middle are much more likely to beat those at the bottom - statistically. Hoke recruited very well as the team regressed. Why is this if not for the explanation that he and his staff were not getting the most out of his players.
Hoke out recruited Dantonio. Were all the rankings way off year after year - or is one of the two coaches better at getting the most out of the players? If we could magically swap all of our recruits during the Hoke years with Dantonio's...Dantonio wouldn't be worse and in fact I'd probably bet that he would have a better record than he did with his own recruits. While Hoke would probably fair worse off.
