I am not part of the "cult" of Fleck as you say. However, you illustrate a lot of negativity surrounding Minnesota right now. Shouldn't they be happy to get a new coach coming off of a 13-1 season and some new recruits above their average?
You keep saying that thes players didn't have commitable offers from BigTen schools, but that is not true.
The QB that Fleck is bringing with him to Minnesota had offers from Louisville, Cincinnati, and Wake Forest - that isn't horrible. Other players show offers from Illinois, Louisville, Purdue, and Syracuse. December 2014 was a very dark time.
We had scandals from our AD, concussions, and Hoke lying about our kicker's alledged raping of a felow student - he said the kicker missed games due to family issues.
We were 5-7. Our previous bowl game saw us get annilhated by Kansas State in a lower tier bowl. We scored 1 touchdown in garbage time in our previous 3 games vs MSU. Our offense was a total joke against even mediocre teams. Our recruitng class was in the bottom three of the BigTen.

-Major advantage to be the #1 or #2 seed and get a 1st round bye, which places extra value on regular season.

-Every major conference champion has a chance to get in, we must admit that Stanford deserved a chance last year.

True, but individual players wearing it on gloves or shoes is not as prominant as every player wearing it on the front of their jersey.
I am 100% fine with it, but I do think it looks unusual. I bet by the end of this season I will be fully acclimated to it.

I don't mind scheduling Notre Dame again, but 3 big rivalry road games in 2018 along with supposedly paying Arkansas $2 Million to get out of that series seems too steep of a price. Also Notre Dame got an extra home game on us in the last series. I feel like we gave too much for the chance to play them again.

If you want more objective facts here you go:
Saturday Baseball TV ratings are in sharp decline.
Youth participation in baseball is in decline.
MLB has the oldest median-age fan base and is failing to connect with younger sports fans.
Look, I am not saying Baseball is dead or will die within the next 20 years, but there are detrimental issues that are obvious.

MLB still has 63.9% of its players as white. The NFL has 27.7% of its players as white. Yet the NFL is very popular among white suburbs. I don't think it is racial diversity that is hurting the MLB. In fact, I think it helps. Hispanic kids are far more likely to tell me that they like MLB than white kids, but even there it is a minority of them.

Baseball is 100% on a downward trajectory. I am not saying it will be dead anytime soon, but I am a high school teacher and I talk to kids. Kids like football, soccer, basketball.....it is difficult to find a high school kid who likes the MLB.
Our soccer and basketball teams easily have enough kids to fill out a team and have cuts. Our baseball team has to bribe kids to join so they have enough players. I've heard kids say that they wanted to play on a varsity team during their high school experience, so they chose baseball, since everyone is guaranteed to earn a letter.
Baseball is slower paced in a fast paced society.

Not to scare you too much, but you won't let your kids play football, only safe sports like Soccer??!!
Did you know that there are some studies that show that soccer is worse for kids brains than football?
40% of high school soccer kids get a concussion, just 30% of high school football players.
Soccer causes brain damage.
35% of college soccer players have abnormal EEG patterns.
Some studies conclude that Junior High athletes are MORE likely to get brain damage from soccer than football.
Studies show soccer players have damage to their white matter fiber tracts.
According to a study at Purdue, a women's varsity college soccer team takes as many 100g hits to the head as the male varsity football team in pads and helmets.
If you truly wanted to be 100% safe, you couldn't play any sports ever - what kind of a life is that?
If the Wright Brothers wanted to be 100% safe, they would never have built gliders and fliers as they crashed countless times.
