As great as special teams coaches are, I think most of them don’t know the mechanics of kicking and punting,” Lopata said.
If you are an NCAA special teams coach, wouldn't you study everything about kicking? Even if you've never kicked in your life, it seems like you'd read/study so much that you'd become an expert. Weird that they don't seem to do that.
Beilein is wrong on this. The kid completed his obligation to Michigan. Michigan isn't letting him come back. Why should have not be able to go anywhere he wants?
Beilein and Michigan are completely wrong. Forde is right.
Nashville rules. The only thing is - like someone said - the strip clubs suck.
I would start at 7th and Broad. That's where Legends is. Then just make your way down Broadway. Tootsies, Stage, there's a few bars across Broad - including a trailer park one that I can't remember the name of.
But don't miss Robert's Western World. Its the best bar in Nashville - especially when Brazilbilly is playing. Awesome music.
If you are in your mid-20s, you should definitely end the night in Printer's Alley at Lonnie's. Don't go there before midnight at least. But they are open until 3 and its always packed.
They not only scolded the students after the game, they scolded them during it. The person mentioned in the article scolding the students was the Athletic Director. And he didn't leave, as the article said.
And there was an apology call and letter sent by the DLS administration to King as well as a call into Tom Markowski (you can see it in the News).
I am a pretty proud DLS alumni. But this is obviously incredibly embarrassing. There's no excuse for these cheers or behavior. I hope the King community will accept DLS's apology.
And I hope others won't judge the entire DLS community by the stupid actions of a few dumb kids. There's no question the DLS administration is embarrassed and will handle the situation appropriately.
I don't see why people are so against this. M will (hopefully) be very good with a RS Senior Devin Gardner at QB and will win big. And unlike any of the other 1-AA teams, this game will get HUGE publicity.
Its a win-win for MI. They get to play a bad team, but still get credit and publicity for winning.
I see. He disclosed the tip he received in December, not just the knowledge. Got it.
So according to Tressel, OSU let the 5 guys playing knowing they had knowledge the guys were ineligible for the entire season. Makes them culpable for knowingly playing players they knew were ineligible.
I'm confused. Didn't everyone know about this in December? I mean, that's the reason for the original suspension. OSU got a letter from the DOJ and it conducted an investigation.

This would be awesome to see.
Willie Mitchell's shot per minute played ratio was amazing.
It sucks but I would think Harbaugh can find another guy who can recruit like crazy. It will be ok.
Totally agree. If Shea is too injured to pull the ball, play McCaffery.
If Shea is too injured to pull the ball and run, then play McCaffery.
If you need bbq sauce, it isn't good bbq.
This quote is really strange -

We want Spike!
Come on. We aren't persecuted by national media. We get TONS of great press - look at the love fest for Harbaugh.
Beilein is getting called out on this because its a bullshit thing to do to Spike.
Lets drop the persecution complex.
If Izzo had done this, we (and mgoblog) would kill him. Its horseshit.
Beilein is wrong and doing a kid - a kid who gave his all to this program and University - a big disservice.

There's already a precedent - Johns Hopkins.
Not UT. They wanted no part of that game.
We are going to J Gilligans before the game. They have a $7 shuttle.
Yes
Holy moly. The
Bring on Jim Abbott.
Also - I had no idea that Darin Erstad was the new coach at Nebraska.
The Nebraska women's volleyball team has some quality there.

Can't blame them.
"Builders of Boys. Makers of Men."
I was always a ND fan. I applied to only two schools - ND and MI. Got into both. I couldn't afford ND but I played the lottery every week to try.
One day at dinner, my Dad said, "Oh. I sent in your acceptance to Michigan today."
A Wolverine for life after that.
This is a funny post. People who read the facts in the article are "jumping to conclusions" by condemning those facts.
But you are perfectly fine with assuming he is "doing all the right things."
Hi pot. I'm kettle. You're black.
Tom Strobel cares about double rainbows?

"Justice Hayes is a spread guy no one expects to play much."
What does that mean? No one expects him to play much this year? His whole career?

So ... what did Tressel tell them?
Seriously? He coached the Nets for like 5 years.
All maize is the way to go. Its awesome.
I also think it would help recruiting.
Y'all are nuts. All maize unis are AWESOME.
I hope they do this. And keep them as occasional alternate uniform.
People who
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
People who say its not a huge deal are nuts. Its devastating for M basketball.
Don't blame Darius - he's gotta do what he's gotta do - but its just so f'in depressing. F&*K!!!
You watch your tongue. The 'ole number 1-0 from the class of 92 was one hell of a QB.
Its Harbaugh time. RichRod has been a failure.
