It's a question of

It's a question of risk/reward, with the risk far outweighing the reward.

I'm set to graduate from a bottom-end top 25 law school in a couple weeks.  Full disclosure, law school has worked out for me, as I was able to secure a big law job post graduation.

However, the employment numbers truly are scary. A friend of mine at school was asked to be put on the student committee seeking post-graduation donations from graduating students. She was told that only 31% of our class has secured post-graduation legal employment.

31%, and we're set to graduate in 13 days. At a top-25 (granted bottom end of the top-25) school.

I am still glad I went. It was fulfilling and I'm really excited to get started in September. But I don't think I'd have that same, fuzzy warm feeling if I was part of the other 70% of my classmates. Just some real numbers to chew on.

Frame of Reference

Last years final overall rankings according to ESPN: (ESPN 150/Total # of recruits)

Shallman and Hill get 3 stars.

So ESPN gives us:

You can really see the difference in foot speed and technique between Dawson and the other high schoolers there. Those other guy just seem to be plodding out their stance, whereas Dawson seems to be quick and explosive.

Beyond the major sites

Beyond the major sites, does anyone else find it kind of weird how random blogs continue to pop up everywhere that have contact with these recruits? Of course you have those blogs that have established themselves over time and become credentialed (Here, BHGP, Black Shoe Diaries, etc...), but every day there seems to be a new "reporter" who gets in contact with these kids and have something to say about their recruitment.

I can now see why the recruitment process gets old for some kids so quickly. Beyond Rivals, Scout, 24/7, their subsidiary sites, and major credentialed blogs, it seems that any schmo who has facebook and a blogspot address can hound you endlessly for info.

Well if you look across the

Well if you look across the rankings, McCray is ranked 4-stars on rivals, and 247, and ranked higher numerically then Gedeon.  However, Gedeon is also ranked 4-stars on scout (as well as rivals and 247), which indicates he was in their early top-100, where McCray was not ranked by Scout yet.  So, at this point, I'd just like to take either.
