That my was my first game at the Big House. I was 9 years old. My dad - a grad from UM Medical School - woke up and said “victory is in the air!!!” We thought he had lost his mind. Of course, he was right on the money. A game I’ll never forget,
“When Beilein took over the Michigan basketball program, nobody could see an NCAA Tourney appearance in the near future. Let alone the multiple B1G championships, Final Fours, and 5 Sweet Sixteens in the past 7 years.”
And he’s done so by running a clean program and being a class act. Thanks, Coach B!
As the data show, the outcome is not quite as severe as Brian thinks it is, but there is no denying the past 18 years have been nothing short of lopsided and brutal for M fans (which is Brian's point I think).
Here's hoping for better days in the years to come.
Lack of versatility in offensive strategy held us back in all three losses this season.
Thedefense gave up 55 points in the final game of the regular season and 41 points in the bowl game. No amount of offensive tweaking is going to matter much if the defense plays that poorly. Just sayin’
"Unless Patterson has the same injury fate that Wilton Speight did this will be the first time inHarbaugh's tenure at Michigan that he has returning starter at QB for most of the year."
Observations like these are important and tend to get lost in the sea of social media.
"I did something last night that I’ve never done before, though now I wish I had thought to do so. Before going to sleep, I sat on my bed, closed my eyes, and pictured the people who support me, so many of whom I only know through their Twitter or mgoblog avatars, filling a room around me. I was taken aback by the mental image I drew, the size of the crowd, and especially the way I found myself lifted off my feet and carried through waves of friends looking at me with love in their eyes."
That is beautiful, Ace. Thanks for sharing. I believe you are firmly on the road to recovery. You can have as much love as you need from this Wolverine. There is no greater healing agent. :)
On the “Attack Each Day” podcast this week, Jack Harbaugh said Michigan has 8 out of 11 guys on defense that are either Freshman, Redshirt Freshman or Sophomore. On Offense we have 7 out of 11 guys that are either Freshman, Redshirt Freshman or Sophomore. Our Punter is a Freshman and our Placekicker is a redshirt Freshman. Our punt returner is a true Freshman and our kick off returner is a Freshman.
I thought John Harbaugh's take on the team looking like "Pros" was encouraging, especially given all the youth. Congrats to the coaching staff and the young men who are willing to be coached by the pros.

The strange thing is I can't remember switching the channel to The Twilight Zone.
Bizarre...
Nice OT post. Some great listening. Wondering if our fearless leader will be using any excerpts on a upcoming podcast?
Don Brown is the best. Wish we could find his equal on offense.

Incredible performance! Coach B should add that to his recruiting video. Not even pneumonia can keep our players out of a championship game. BOOM!

In the spirit of Craig Ross, here's some data on the M-OSU rivalry going all the way back:

Gotta also focus on playing great defense and special teams all season long.

The players deserve better.
If that happens, we'll have the makings of a quality Harbaugh-led football machine in 2018.
