McMurphy told Clay Travis (I know, I know) that he’s getting conflicting info about the staffer. The university says she’s no longer employed there but is on the website.

Buckeyes are ignorant of many

Buckeyes are ignorant of many things especially Hoke-speak.  It was technically, "Not....Good."  He went on to say how good it is for the B1G and he's looking forward to competing against Meyer in The Game and in recruiting.

I posted this in Heiko's thread

If you need to hear from Hoke...

He's making rounds on national radio shows:

Thanks.  That's what I wanted to know.

If coaches are doing their

If coaches are doing their job then the players are developing during the season not just during the offseason, correct?  Congrats on seeing some of these changes ahead of time but, with all due respect, your job isn't on the line.  Obviously the coaches saw it as well and made the change but had to wait until they were confident in the players, cf. Demens, Kenny.

I'm surprised you haven't

I'm surprised you haven't been +1'd yet.  I feel the same way and thought that last year.  The Rose Bowl had me worried but then watching him a few times this year calmed me down.  How does a guy with his speed and elusiveness get sacked so often?  He has not internal clock.  DRob's is better through 7 starts than Pryor's.

Isn't "obnoxious" and "State

Isn't "obnoxious" and "State fan" redundant?  I don't have a most story but I just find all of them, and I have family and friends who are, this way.

No offense, but why would he?

No offense, but why would he?  The word has been Michigan and Auburn for so long and now with Auburn out of the picture, I think he likes the excitement this is building.  If he clears it up, then we know it's Michigan.

I think the reason the QB iso

I think the reason the QB iso is so effective this year is because Denard is now able to throw out of it.  Last year he wasn't even looking to do that.  I think being a year older has helped being a more effective runner.

I was just wondering the other day how Denard's stats this year compare to Pat White's R-Fr. year and what types of plays we are running compared to WVU that year.  I know this isn't what you did but I would be really interested to see it if anyone has the time/ability to do so.

Remember we only committed 1

Remember we only committed 1 penalty against UCONN and 3 against UMASS.  When we play at ND, there is an above average number of penalties called against us (http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1127626--behind a paywall but basically Michigan "commits" more penalties at ND than their season average), and I think Saturday was a combination of very poor officiating and guys making sure there wasn't a repeat of last week.

Look at the last 2 years under RR.  The only consistently positive thing was discipline and very few penalties.  It's a really good thing that you didn't go off on RR bringing in the wrong players and that he needs to teach discipline.  He is doing that.

Yes, yes, yes.  I believe

Yes, yes, yes.  I believe this team has what statistics can't measure and what won't show up in the box-score--they love their coach and each other.  The senior class is small but vocal and the rest of the team looks up to them.  That will account for W's.  If we cut down the turnovers that will overcome our inexperienced and, perhaps, weak secondary.  I really like our boys in the trenches though.

By the way, 35-17 good guys.

FW, thanks again for the

FW, thanks again for the insider info.  This was probably posted elsewhere but I thought Misopogon was off on his diary shortly after Turner left.  Showing preferential treatment may be the way to keep a handful of athletes but it's a great way to lose a team.  I hope RR has time as well.  I can't endure 3 more years of transition under someone else.

The OL has received nothing

The OL has received nothing but rave reviews but in Monday's presser, RR didn't seem too thrilled with them.  What are your thoughts on what he was doing there?  Is he keeping them humble and hungry?  Or was this another example of Ft. Schembechler 2.0?

Can we win some turnover

Can we win some turnover battles this year?  UConn was -2 in that game.  We all know that is the difference between at least 2 of our losses last year being wins.

I like that RR has never

I like that RR has never sugar-coated anything.  I've wondered about this apparent change of tone as well.  Each year he's seemed more confident than the previous year.  Is he just tired from a long weekend or is this how he displays confidence in progress?  In other words, is the bar the highest it's been since being at Michigan and so what used to be a good day is now average and enough to make him mad.

Players are usually more positive than coaches but there seems to be a greater discrepancy between RR and players' quotes than previously.

I had similar question last

I had similar question last week.  What I was told is RR pressers are Mon and Thurs and another coach on Wed (GERG last week).  I'm sure it'll be on mgoblue.com and Tim will have tidbits shortly after it's over.  You can follow him on Twitter during the presser.

Does anyone know RR's press

Does anyone know RR's press conference schedule?  I thought it would be every-other-day but that hasn't been the case.  I know GERG did one yesterday but I was wondering when RR's next one is.

I usually find Spath's

I usually find Spath's articles to be little more that statements of the obvious, like a recent article that the D-Line should be the best group on our D this year--wow, insightful!  This one is actually pretty good.  Good find.

Everybody slaps.  Slaps you.

I saw 7:45 pm.  Probably on mgoblue.com and I'm sure Tim will have notes up later tonight.

EDIT: Dang, RedGreene beat me to it.

I appreciate keeping your

I appreciate keeping your source secret but was it brutal as in hard or brutal as in bad?  I'm assuming hard if your source is a player.  If it's a coach, it could go either way.

Anyone have an idea of when

Anyone have an idea of when Suh might sign?  I know this was the last thing standing in the way.

He named Michigan his leader

He named Michigan his leader in an interview with Sam Webb: http://michigan.scout.com/2/986210.html (behind a paywall) and it was from this weekend.

As one grateful for what Bob

As one grateful for what Bob Bradley has done in taking the US to another level, I think it's time the USSF lets him choose whatever position he wants other than head coach of the USMNT.  I think coaches are only good for one WC at a time and if he's allowed to continue on, the team will regress.  His starting 11 is inexplicable.  How come he can't find someone to pair with his son or with Altidore?  I know the Altidore pairing has been answered but he was unfortunately left off the roster.  Edu or Feilhaber seem the easy and obvious choice as the other center mid but alas.

I do love that Bradley essentially runs a 4-2-4 but I think he needed to change that (one of Brian's points I believe) for this tournament.

I, for one, hope we hire Jürgen Klinsmann.

Which makes sense because our Which makes sense because our running game is based so much on the QB being able to legitimately run. If the D knows he can't really run because only a touch downs him, then what's the point of running our read option? I think that's why we saw so much out of the I.
I totally forgot about some I totally forgot about some of those hits. I remember Adams having a good game but that last stick was awesome! They had such a good game plan (where was it the rest of the year aaaaaarrrgghh!) and attacked Tebow. The Vest thought to himself, "Why didn't we try that the year before!?"
Does anyone know if G-Rob Does anyone know if G-Rob went to VT to learn about what they do or have his D's been along these lines before? I would guess that he's coaching/teaching something he's quite familiar with and not just doing what RR wants. He didn't need to take the DC job but wanted to and I would be hard-pressed to see a former HC and successful DC at the college and pro level coming and teaching something he's not too familiar with. Any insight is appreciated.
Or for a differing philosophy Or for a differing philosophy see Patterson, Gary and the Horned Frogs of TCU. D made up of HS RBs and QBs, even the DL. Yes, yes, yes, I know they play in that weak MWC (*sarcasm*) but they were one of 4 teams to be at least 12-0 with some convincing wins. Their D is fast and was pretty good. They actually did well vs. a good BSU O.
I like that RR has let I like that RR has let Woolfolk do as many pressers as he has. He tells it like it is and doesn't give the player-speak. Like when he threw Schaffer under the bus last year and this year--I read somewhere (Scout I think) that they didn't trust Schaffer. Also saying we was skeptical of G-Rob at first but now really likes the D they're playing and how he coaches. It seems like he's really becoming a leader and is willing to play wherever it will help the team most.
If he stays at guard I read If he stays at guard I read that it is the best for him and the rest of the OL. Some of the other guys like Lewan and Schofield may be better tackles. Also, in a related thought, they want him on the field and guard is the best place for that to happen right now.
Per Magnus:
"The Michigan
Per Magnus: "The Michigan drill is not conducive to getting spectacular plays out of your defensive linemen. They go head up against the offensive lineman, which rarely happens in games. Usually, the only time you have a guy going head up against an offensive lineman is if the defensive lineman is a nose tackle in a 3-front alignment. Meanwhile, the running back just picks a side and goes. So unless the OL is a complete waste of space, you shouldn't expect to get many plays from the defensive linemen in that drill."
I thought that too but I I thought that too but I think he said "Shaw and Cox" but it was kind of slurred together as "Shawn (or Shaun or Sean) Cox"
Personally, I have 2 Personally, I have 2 issues: 1) mgoblue isn't putting up the info they're "promising" like practice notes. I know this is not great insider info but it's better than nothing. 2) I think freedom of press is a very important check and balance but I wish they were free from being idiots. I think we can all see why Carr played it so close to the chest (not vest because "vest" = bad). Granted he was from a different time but he also knew how the press distorts words and abuses access. I can't wait until RR can legitimately not have to answer ridiculous questions because his track record speaks for itself (he should have handled Dorsey questions better, IMO, but eventually he can, "We do our homework. Next question." or whatever).
Who won? Just kidding I was Who won? Just kidding I was watching and the last 50 replies answer.
Maybe being closer to RR and Maybe being closer to RR and Barwis will help him stay out of trouble.
Good things come to those who Good things come to those who wait.
Rest easy my friends, here's Rest easy my friends, here's a small tidbit: http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/fbl-spring-game-2010.ht… It's not much but it's something. I hope there's more after tomorrow's practice since it'll be the first in full pads.
Do I see a bit of a shiner on Do I see a bit of a shiner on the Texas Swashbuckler? Who says soccer is not a physical sport? Only those who played in gym class or at the rec league level, that's who!

It appears so: It appears so: http://www.annarbor.com/sports/um-football/denard-robinson-still-a-quar… Unless he crowbarred (too soon?) this from someone else.
Those are some significant Those are some significant weight gains, esp. the OL. Isaiah Bell's HS coach was quoted as being surprised at how big he is now, I guess that's not an overstatement. I think he'll see some significant time this year and will be one to step up (re: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/who-do-you-think-steps-next-year).
RR's comments have been RR's comments have been consistent with each year he's been at Michigan--08 was very cautious, 09 was more confident, and now showing some excitement. We all now there will still be bumps in the road but each side of the ball will show improvement.
Anyone else would have been a Anyone else would have been a crime against BG, Michigan, the Big10, and college football. Rittenberg does a decent job overall and this is one of his better moments.
I saw The Happening so I I saw The Happening so I think it's a good preemptive strike. If all of France commits suicide, it's on the police. Clauseau will get to the bottom of this.
I wondered the same thing. I wondered the same thing. Answer: http://netforbeginners.about.com/od/chatting/f/whatistldr.htm If it's too long and you don't read it, it stands for, "too long, didn't read."
If these will result in major If these will result in major violations, why would Brandon state now that RR will be coach for the 2010 season? It seems that if the allegations could result in major violations, Brandon would say that his status is uncertain until the August hearing. No self-respecting program will keep a coach after major violations are found out under his/her watch.
Cohesion with the rest of the Cohesion with the rest of the staff is obviously a high value to RR. Since Braithwaite has been around the staff a decent amount, it's safe. There really isn't an adjustment for the players either. This may not be a blockbuster "hire" but what the team needs is consistency. I think we're learning we need to trust RR's ability to assess talent. The same goes for hiring coaches too.
