If you want oysters I think the happy hour at http://www.lukeneworleans.com/ is second to none (though the blind pelican has substantially worse oysters for a third of the price during happy hour (25 cents an oyster)).
If you want poboys, parkway bakery is a favorite of mine. Cochon butcher has the best muffaletta in the city (and everything else they have is amazing).
Skip bourbon and head to frenchmen st for entertainment, and head further into the marigny/down to bywater if youre liking what youre seeing.
Even for games on the BTN? I tried to go out for one of our games on the network last year and a guy who owns a bar by my house says he'd tried multiple times to get the BTN, but was told that the BTN isn't available to commercial estbalishments in New Orleans for reasons unknown (SEC network).
It is the way the game is now, but it's the same for everyone. Look at next year's class . . . Beilien seems well equipped to keep this program relevant for the foreseeable future even given the current state of CBB.
