Part of it may be they…

Part of it may be they became more and more basketball on grass versus under Urban they would smash more. (Much like our talented Wrs but we just don't throw them the ball much)

Took a peek at 11 Warriors…

Took a peek at 11 Warriors and apparently he he was one of a few Assistants  who was NOT offered an extension at the end of the year,  so there may be some spite here, which is fine with me.

Reputation as an excellent recruiter, poached Mike Weber from Detroit and of course Elliott, Henderson and most recently  Judkins from the portal.  Spices up the rivalry for sure.

In terms of schematics, I…

In terms of schematics, I like our chances with Wink  and his vast experience dialing up defenses against the more sophistcated pro offenses calling plays against top notch College OCs.

Gotta have the personnel/players  of course, but for instance, I would put money on Wink versus Sark or Will Stein at Oregon in terms of game planning and intra game adjustments. (Again, need the suffcient talent of course)

Cullen aside, who seems like…

Cullen aside, who seems like a good schematic fit, to me it doesn't seem like we're  hiring at a U of M , National Championship , world class university level.

Campbell as OC and some of the other hires/promotions seem like hires that middle or lower tier Big Ten teams would do. Maybe it's tight purse strings budget or the potential NCAA riff raff, but we should have our pick of assistants,  or head coaches who want to come here as the OC  or DC or other staff positions. I.e. for OC, Moorhead, Jason Candle, Tom Herman (ducks), Josh McDaniel (duck) and others.

OMG Bottomless?

OMG Bottomless?

Continuity  was part, not…

Continuity  was part, not all, of the push for Moore as HC. I'm curious to see  how much, if any, player attrition follows with continued coaching attrition.  The possible point being, choose the best and most qualified HC candidate because players, assistants and recruits may come and go regardless.(Moore may turn out to be the next great HC in college football)  But just for comparison,  Deboer had a rough start at Bana but now has had several recruting and retention wins and is getting things steadied and came woth a ready to go staff. (After some drama with Grubb) . I know the timing of JH leaving also affected us and limited external candidates available.

Just me, but the Campbell OC hire was underwhelming for a National Championship  team and I hope we get some momentum going with future staff hires.

Kramer on Seinfled fighting…

Kramer on Seinfeld fighting children in karate class: ': It's not the size of the opponent , it's the ferocity!'

Kramer on Mgoblog:' Its not the points of the Poster, its the veracity!'

I was a middle class kid…

I was a middle class kid from Phoenix and  would hang out with the kids of gazillionaires  from Hong Kong, India and other places, and at the same table,  would be our friend from rural West Virginia.  10 cent wings at Touchdown Cafe on  Tuesdays and nobody thought anything of it. Only later did I fully realize the differences. (All due respect to Ernis, as personal experiences vary)

I graduated in 99 and at…

I graduated in 99 and at that time, for undergrad,  I believe you had to start in LSA or another M college then apply to B school after second year. (Admission was largely based on how well you did in Acct 101 and 102) Maybe that's changed now.

All that aside, my advice would be study what you truly like and things often fall in place. (Aside from a kid who knows exactly what they want to do at 18, i.e.Engineeer Pharmacist , microbiologist  etc)

You have time to select a major.  I majored in  Econ and was mostly miserable because I felt it would open the most doors. I was in advanced  math classes with Engineering and Math majors and was simply not on their level.

Side note: I remember  Investment Banking firms on campus recruiting Anthropology and English majors , since they felt those grads could be more easily coached versus a B school grad.

I mouthed 'oh no' before I…

I mouthed 'oh no' before I read the full title.

I  really hope to keep the Ravens tree growing with someone who is already familiar with the scheme.

Moore as the Head Coach with…

Moore as the Head Coach with external candidates  considered for DC (assuming Minter is gone) and particularly OC. I'm  all for continuity and culture,  but some fresh ideas on offense from an elite OC could be helpful. The schedule year in and year out is going to be grueling and not ideal for a  first time HC and a  first time OC.

Good fodder for the weekend…

Good fodder for the weekend nonetheless.

Better him (for us) than Joe…

Better him (for us) than Joe Moorhead, whom I know there was talk of.

That aside, their goal seems to be a more balanced attack vs basketball on grass so maybe he can help there.

Off top of my head  I…

Off top of my head  I believe we wore all blue back in the Norfleet/Hoke days at home versus Penn State. I remember Dennis's dance while awaiting a punt return.

Side note, for me, the all blue with maize accessories really pops and looks outstanding , and our traditional home with blue accessories (rather than white socks) are my favorite combos.

3 straight conf…

3 straight conf championships and wins over OSU. He led M to a Natty. He's a conquering hero.

Going out on top and going for that Super Bowl ring just seems natural versus a (potentially) anti-climatic return and the complex legalese of the M contract negotiations.

You're not alone, I know…

You're not alone, I know some on this board have hoped he (Tuttle)  may apply for an extra year but I haven't seen anything that he actually has/intends to apply for that. ( OP's notes section states he intends to apply for a Medical, if so, would be welcomed)

If M does look to portal, I…

If M does look to portal, I believe Jayden DeLaura, McCloud from James Madison and Will Rogers are the remaining portal qbs of  note left in this transfer  window.

Unless we snake oil Finn (from Detroit) away from Baylor.

JJ is like the Hutch of Qbs…

JJ is like the Hutchinson of Qbs with his approach and tenacity.  Lions have more pressing needs, but JJ's competitiveness  and team attitude/family make him a Dan Campbell type qb.

Would love if he could be a late first round pickup and groom to be Goff's successor. (Who knows about Hooker)

If needed, Orji/Davis  ala…

If needed, Orji/Davis  ala Tebow/Chris Leak.

( With Orji actually throwing )

Herbstreit is obsessed with…

Herbstreit is obsessed with no calls on potential M penalties and our special teams costs us lots of  yards a game in punting and punt return decisions.

Use Mcarthy's legs and bring…

Use Mcarthy's legs and bring back misdirection frm Bama game with throws to backs out of the backfield.

I tuned into the SEC Network…

I tuned into the SEC Network and with the exception of Tebow, the hosts are even more petty and blinded by love for Saban and the conference  than I thought. BAMA got robbed overtones plus no mention of the many gifts M gave Bama. (2 muffed punts, missed fg, missed Xtra point , terrible punting etc)

I think the Bo mentality of…

I think the Bo mentality of its all about winning thr big Ten and not much else matters.

Payton Thorne! ran for 50…

Payton Thorne! ran for 50 yards against Bama on RPOS but maybe Moore doesn't watch film?

Moore and Harbaugh turtling…

Moore and Harbaugh turtling it seems. I realize JJ isn't playing well either but I hope  the first half moral victory wasnt enough for the staff.

Run defense is getting leaky

Run defense is getting leaky

Keep up the crossing routes…

Keep up the crossing routes and would like to see more Mullings(less Edwards)  toting the rock as Blake's backup.  Split Edward's out wide.

At some point, Orji has to…

At some point, Orji has to be able to throw. We let Kalel Mullings throw a pass! Defense would be just as surprised if Orji threw.

Doman is pooch punting…

Doman is pooch punting. Giving 10 yards of field possession each kick.

Offensive gameplanning will…

Offensive gameplanning will also have to be more creative . We can't just line up and handoff against 8 men in the box all day.

We're  on a remarkable 3…

We're  on a remarkable 3 year run in football. That  aside, we gotta win  one playoff game or it'll perhaps have an asterisk next to it. TCU was perhaps the easiest draw in recent CFP memory, and the game planning with a month to prepare didn't seem  comprehensive.

Might as  well just bring in…

Might as  well just bring in Orji and read option rest of game. Would be more effective at this stage of the game.

What worries me is this is…

What worries me is this is our offensive game plan  with a generational talent at  qb and  rb.

I read Jonathan Smith gave…

I read Jonathan Smith gave Aidan Childs the 3rd possession  of every game (when possible) at Oreg Stae to get meaningful reps. (Burning redshirt aside). Sounds like an interesting strategy to get guys more game ready when their time comes. (If he lures him to MSU)

Leonard is a gritty leader…

Leonard is a gritty leader with lots of experience.  Not sure about his pure passing ability alone being able to win a game , but a gamer for sure. (reminds me of Max Duggan)

He's intriguing for sure. I…

He's intriguing for sure. I just wish we had some sample size for his passing. He's only inserted for read options. Not sure if it's because of coaches  confidence or just a result of the situation.

If JJ declares: Cam Ward (if…

If JJ declares: Cam Ward (if he enters portal)

For a multi year option to challenge existing Qb room:  perhaps  Nate Johnson or Brendan Sorsby from Indiana (3 to 1 td to int ratio as freshman running for his life plus has some mobility)

I don't agree with the…

I don't agree with the grounding call but I love the grounding call.

Compromising player safety:…

Compromising player safety: Barnhart at Left Tackle

Defense was incredible, but…

Defense was incredible, but my gosh, Penn State stinks on offense. Drew Allar (19 years old or not, is no 5 star).  They're Iowa with all white uniforms.

Incredible emotion post game…

Incredible emotion post game from Moore. Love the authenticity from a Sooner for our university.

The  offensive play calling was questionable  no doubt, but he's  a future Head Coach somewhere for sure.  (Just turn over the play calling duties haha)

Thank goodness for Blake's…

Thank goodness for Blake's vision because Sherrone was gonna make no attempt to move the ball otherwise.

Peyton Manning style… Peyton Manning style audibling for 30 seconds every play for 1 yard gains.
Yes, we're winning but…

Yes, we're winning but Sherrone pulling a Schembechler impression . Playing to not lose.  Let your Heisman Trophy qb throw the ball.

Thankful that Penn State OC…

Thankful that Penn State OC Mike Yurchich is incompetent.

Get Barnhart out of there …

Get Barnhart out of there (Jones, Persi) and open up the offense. Drew Allar isn't very good, score 21 points with no turnovers and we win.

Barnhart  getting worked.

Barnhart  getting worked.

Even with USC and UCLA out, …

Even with USC and UCLA out,  Washington, Oregon and Utah should be able to best CU for several years to come so long as the coaches stay in place.

I'm getting Hugh Freeze/Ole Miss vibes with all this, even with NIL legal to pay etc -i.e. star studded roster, may pull off a spectacular upset here or there.

All speculation at this…

All speculation at this point, but if this did happen, I wonder if he'd take Matt Weiss with him ?  Weiss , rightly or wrongly, seems to perhaps  be the most maligned assistant over the past couple seasons , recruiting in particular. (Very much up in the air how the play calling is handled)

I'm also worried how it would affect JJ and other key players  who view Harbaugh as a father figure. As said before, Portal giveth and taketh.

All conjectures, but has me worried. (Hopefully for no reason)

I do love to see NIL really…

I do love to see NIL really benefiting the existing roster to return. The Ewers million dollar heist of OSU and other unproven 5 stars is not so good side of NIL.(Dante Moore getting first round pick money without throwing a single pass)  It's a boring New Years so I was checking out the past 2 or 3 years of top 10 QBs on 247 and there was a lot of 'who is that?'.

I.e.Watched Clemson's Klubnik(Big NIL)  in Orange Bowl and while he is a true frosh with little experience  , he looks nothing like a 100 rated QB or even in the same league as JJ, despite having loads of 5 stars around him. (Several wobbly ducks, and Mark Sanchez -esque butt fumble type scrambles.)
