Also for anyone who is interested in the Thursday day game; YouSwoop had $80 rooftop deals last I checked for that game.
I completely agree that the call was legit. What I didn't like was the ref waiting 5 seconds and calling it only after hearing all the fans cry for a penalty.
I grew up in the Mormon faith, and although at 18 I chose to no longer practice, a lot of comments on this thread are disappointing.
BYU is more than upfront about their honor code, and quite frankly there are plenty of Catholic colleges with similar rules regarding alcohol and sex (Notre Dame). I knew I didn’t want to follow that sort of an honor code so I didn’t apply to BYU. It really is that simple. Manti Teo is a Mormon who didn’t go to BYU, it happens.
But if you chose to go to BYU you know what you’re accepting, and you know that if you break the rules then you have to face the consequences.
Religion is an intensely personal decision for most people, perhaps some of the posters should think about that before spouting of ignorant hate filled comments. These posters need to go back and watch the South Park episode about Mormons. Regardless of what you think about the validity of their beliefs, it it’s not hurting you and gives that person a good life, then why do you care?
Because high school Seniors don't understand all the rules. Think about all the things about college that you didn't know at that age.
Also, I wonder how many of the kids who may not academically qualify understand the oversigning rules. And since these kids who are on the fringe academically are also the ones who are most at risk of getting cut due to oversigning....I find that to be a big problem.
I agree with you but I think we're talking about two different things. I'm not talking about can the team itself be successful in the short term, but can we get back to competing at a top 10 recruiting class every year level?
Yes success on the field will affect recruiting positively in the long term, but can Hoke, Mattison and Co. hit the ground running before success on the field comes, or after one 8-4 season? or will it take multiple years of 9-11 win seasons to convice the elite high school teenagers to come back to Michigan?
Tom do you feel this is more of a perception issue? i.e. it looks bad to throw out a ton of offers and strike out a lot?
What was your overall impression of RR's recruiting ability? We'll never know what would have happened had he stayed, but if RR keeps Dee and a few others isn't that a top 15ish class?
I guess what I'm saying is do you feel that building Michigan's recruiting prestige back up is a long term project? or something that could be "fixed" with 1 or 2 excellent classes?
I wonder if MSU had just gone 15-22 over the past 3 years, would this poll result be the same? Somehow I doubt it. I feel like Sparties are more bandwagon fans, especially in football.
I don't even understand your comment. The lack of documentation regarding the job descriptions for the quality control staff directly lead to the most serious portion of the NCAA violations leveled against UM.
To me the lack of documentation and the failure to correct that problem are two sides of the same coin. It's a lack of organizational competence within the athletic department. But in that regard I place blame on the AD not the head football coach.
This wasn't a football specific breakdown, it was an athletic department breakdown, so I don't blame RR for that.
And I'll take my information from Brian over the Freep any day of the week thank you. Brian is obviously biased towards UM but he backs up his arguements with logic and facts that have been well thought out. That's more than I can say for Freep or even DetNews for that matter.
