Hockey pet peeve: "when a teammate tips a puck in on you, which is exactly how my first collegiate goal against happened. Thanks, Copper."

I think you missed most of the data in the 2011 column, particulary on the OL.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Head Start||
Clearly this is a next-level traffic management effort offering a wider window of time for crowds to disperse. Those declining an extra helping of WOW can still watch the entire game and leave ahead of the rest.

Lots of good looks too. Just brutal

For some reason I suspected gizoogling recipes would provide for an especially funny read. I was not disappointed.

Everything is bad and awful. I feel angry about this.
|22 weeks 6 days ago||Question for coach types||
Could this be a hint at a shift to a 3-4? Is that even possible with the available personnel?
|23 weeks 2 days ago||Uh Oh||
Probably Jeff Meyer's fault.

|25 weeks 8 hours ago||Grey Poupon?||
Missed golden (mmhmm) opportunity for current events reference-- those jerseys were clearly washed at a hotel laundry in Sochi (LOL there are no finished hotel laundries in Sochi).
|25 weeks 2 days ago||Caught the end too||
Whoa...no fan of MSU there.
|25 weeks 2 days ago||Yes||
Joe-hater checking in. It looks like a giant grey toolshed and it doesn't get much better inside. The location is awful too; stuffed between the Lodge and its off ramps, the backside of Cobo, the JLA parking structure and the Detroit River. The last one would be a huge plus if the original development at all accentuated its surrounding.
That whole end of downtown was poorly executed as it effectively ends at Washington Blvd with the neighboring blocks to the NW taken up by parking. It's a shame that the recent renovations to Cobo and now the new arena couldn't have been integrated into a more coherent development near the riverfront.

Five years ago we were in Maui for the Super Bowl so my Costco find of a Kona Brewing Co. sampler inspired a Hawaiian theme. Going with teriyaki sliders with mango curry coconut slaw and grilled pineapple on kings Hawaiian rolls.

I guess its a matter of what we believe to be more credible, Hoke concocting these stories OR the OSCR review being truly private and the accused providing the cover.
I know there's a tinfoil hat element here but again, how could Hoke and the AD be so tone deaf if they knew what was happening.
|26 weeks 9 hours ago||I hear you||
Obviously many of us here have on maize & blue glasses but I just find it near impossible to believe that Hoke would have had Gibbons at the banquet if the Athletic Dept was fully aware of the status of the OSCR investigation.
Let's say hypothetically that the OSCR is entirely removed from the AD until such point that an outcome from the OSCR process would impact a student's status within the AD. There's a pretty easy explanation for his 'iffy' status at OSU, his attendance at the banquet as well as the 'family matter' for the bowl game. That explanation would perfectly fit Hoke's actions and comments from late November through the Bowl game. Unfortunately we may never know the truth of what happened between November 20 and December 23 inside the football program but it would sure clear the air if we at least knew how and when the OSCR and AD communicated.

Between reading the comments to articles like this and seeing my own Facebook feed last night, I am constantly amazed how simplistic people can be. I had to talk myself down from engaging each piece of willfully ignorant vitriol and every share of a chatsports article.
The irony in all of the ranting and raving about coverups is that it's likely that his status as a football player is what ultimately led to his removal from the University. I think like everyone, we want to know when Hoke and the AD knew everything regarding the OSCR process but to assume they took some nefarious role in this is ridiculous.

He IS Will Ferrell, right?
|26 weeks 1 day ago||Not only that||
but given the privacy matters here, it's possible that Hoke wasn't even permitted to characterize the issue as disciplinary in nature.

|29 weeks 1 day ago||Sam Webb on Borges||
Can't start threads but towards the end of Sam's show this morning the subject of Al Borges came up. He didn't claim any insidery information but he seemed way less certain that the staff would go unchanged into 2014. Nothing earth shattering but I thought a worthwhile tidbit from a guy who hears more than most when it comes to the program.

Our QB coach you guys....
|35 weeks 8 hours ago||Necessary||
I may not like every word but I applaud Brandon for getting in front of all the hot seat crap. Perception becomes reality and being proactive here and being a cheerleader for his guy is the right thing for the program.
We know Hoke can recruit. We know he can assemble a defense under Mattison. We now know Brandon is firing shots across the bow of the USS Borges. Let's fix what's broken and get behind this team.
Happy Thanksgiving and Go Blue!!
|35 weeks 2 days ago||Nope||
It was all speculation coming from 'coaches' of the 'wouldn't be surprised' variety because click here, hot seats and even hotter takez.
The Internet is like a feedback loop from hell when it comes to sports fandom.
|35 weeks 2 days ago||'11 and '12 vs OSU||
In both years UM has outdone the average performance against OSU. Say Borges goes all Debord Capital One Bowl on OSU and Michigan is again in that 100-120% range this weekend-- likely putting Michigan in position to actually win the damn game. We hate him more, right?
Thanks for the work as always dnak. Your comparative stats really help solidify the ol' eyeball test each Saturday.

Two critical things occured to me while reading this
1) We have a lot of guys on the roster with two first names
Frank Clark, Jake Ryan, Willie Henry, Thomas Gordon, James Ross, Desmond Morgan, Jourdan Lewis, Raymon Taylor, Jarrod Wilson, Courtney Avery, Cam Gordon
2) Damn is it exciting that most of those guys are coming back next year to be coached by Mattison

Shared a bottle of Cayuse syrah with a neighbor-- a Spartan no less. He's feeling particularly gracious these days apparently...

That is one cool looking horse. I bet those stocky mo-fo's could pick up a blitzing clydesdale.

Say you're standing in front a nut kicking machine. The machine is repeatedly kicking you in the nuts. You have a metallic taste in your mouth and begin thinking that a fork in the eye would be a more enjoyable experience.
In that situation do you think a blue shirt or black shirt would have been more approriate?

Hot & Creamy Votes presented by Rotel. LiveBloggers use the Hot & Creamy Vote app to vote on playcalls during the game. Pure Queso for run. Chipotle Salsa for goin' long. Refried beans for bubble screens.
Going to need a lot of tortillas because we've got bubble screens for days.
