But keep in mind, if Harbaugh wanted more time with recruits he would have left the 49ers earlier, knowing how important relationships are. He would have resigned. But, to keep face - the door open in the nfl - he needed to finish his duties.
In the sporting world, everyone including coaches are looking to network. The kids get dumped on. It's sad.
It happens more often in baseball at the collegiate level. These kids give verbal commitments - (baseball has much less scholarships- 11.7 ) these college coaches offer 5x the allowance, let the season play out and then award the select few the partial scholarship. In the meantime, the athlete is loyal to the school and let's other schools know he's Committed. Losing out on other opportunities.
You certainly are valid with your points and opinion. Go Blue.
Weber partially to blame. U commit to the school not the assistant coach. It's a sad situation happens all the time. Assistant coaches leave and get plucked, especially when Ohio wins.. And produces NFL talent.
Kid needs to stick to his osu commitment.. If he pursues the release he's tarnished goods.
If I was Harbaugh n company, I wouldn't take him back for all the tea in China. ( if he received his release- will not happen)
Michigan has won on this one. They didn't get the prospect (the battle). Let's see if they can win the war (recruiting credibility with recruits that are neck n neck with both schools)
Maker.. If Harbaugh can get a pro style QB with the tools - Gentry. I would say that's pretty amazing, providing the work he has developed in the past with talent.
Unfortunately for Hoke and company they were not able to land or develop the next NFL QB. Morris - verdict not completely out yet. In my opinion, Morris has not shown signs to slow the game down.
If you examine all four QB's in the playoff system this year, they all have NFL tools and talent while performing.
Considering the time frame they have had, it's amazing they were able to flip players? That's recruiting and scouting. They have targeted high level athletes. In the scouting world - high level athletes have a better chance of figuring it out at the next level. I would only expect them at this point to work from behind the 8 ball.
I'd rather them be aggressive and recruit.
Other college teams do this as well. They offer more then their scholarship allotment. They hope enough stick.
Avg mlb fast is 89mph. You have 3/16 of a sec to engage. Hardly a comparison to bowling. Don't see only but 1200 players in the world playing mlb baseball.
If you can't bet them.. Hire them. Simple Cardinal Rule. Drop the Michigan arrogance. Besides, that's why we are speaking about this in the first place.
My mother can identify the elite athlete. It's not rocket scientist material. These coaches have to forecast the future on the guy that fits their program design. They deal more with the norm per day the three star then the 4 and 5 they call it.
Those sites are money generators. Nothing wrong with it. Just know your reading it for entertainment purposes only.
Having coached and played collegiately and professionally there is so much that goes into evaluating and developing a player. Star ratings don't make players, coaches do.
Outlined in white. Notice the coaching boxes are in white outline near 1st and 3rd base.. Just my opinion .., when they put things together on paper...
Leading both league in meals... Cheeseburger is a close second...
Unfortunately, when these power hitters change their diet... Their product changes too, historically. Our old hitting coach use to say, " when he's fat... Keep'em fat."
It's frustrating..( I grew up in Michigan.. Played in Alabama - my collegiate career) As I see the trend in Football too. The last 10 years I have covered the country in baseball. Just see a lot of the similarities in Football.. Especially in the SEC.
It looks lil league that Michigan undershirts for the second year.. - with sleeves don't match the jersey.. What is this pee wee football.. Adidas has to do better then this..
I'm on here often, but never post. I work in MLB baseball, evaluate players and write reports for a living. The whole idea of doing so is that our superiors can vision & Draft accordingly to where the future prospect will end up. Our reports like FB reports are from a different vernacular. Your opinion is done buy live and video evals. They are your opinion . They paint a picture in which others can follow- nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't feed the trolls. Continue to report. Thanks
Wow... The guy has won overall... I work in the baseball industry in the deep south SEC coverage. What does Dave think he'll get up there? I realize the progam has taken a slide, however, Rich has put Michigan back on the map for college baseball.
Rich should have never parted ways with pitching coach Bob Keller... his only mistake.
agree 100%!!! I live in Pensacola, Fl saw the man vs food challenge and decided to go there during a game day weeknd. We gave it two attempts on back to back days... very disappointing...
Strike that... Had to look again at our tix.. Sec 121.. Row 22.. Seat 17/18.. Me and my girlfriend.. I had on a home #1 jersey.. And she wore a Columbia blue zip up with a maize m on the pocket area! That video looked as if u were in our seats! Lol! That's the way to do it! Unfortunately my phone died.. I wanted to film at the end.. So.. Thank u!!!! Go blue!
I certainly agree...

These coaches in the SEC have it a little bit easier down here. There are more athletes to choose from and the academics- excluding Vanderbilt - standards are less then the Big Ten for entry. ( nobody seems to look at that).

When I speak to these athletes they feel Big Blue is just another school.

However, when the coaching staff gets these players to visit, it certainly changes the complexity of their mindset.

So key is... Get them to visit!!!!

Hopefully we can snag some talent once in a while.

GO BLUE!

I'm hoping the Sugar Bowl opens the Louisiana recruiting trail for GO BLUE! Maybe pick up one of those dominating Louisiana DT's or RB's!!!!

Working in the baseball industry (SEC territory) I've seen first hand the dominant athletes here in the deep south.

Hoke and Company will continue to put a fence around the north and keep those athletes up there committed to BLUE.

But for us to make an impact with the national title run (consistent) -we need to snag those highly skilled position athlete's in the south.

GO BLUE!!!

Happens at the baseball level too.
These staff members are well connected and paid.
Love Michigan Football. However, the South has better tailgates and Football.

Northwestern is fun too, Chicago.
I've done the drive and flights to most of the big ten venues.
I wound have to say, Penn State is the best package.
However, I highly doubt if Fielder stuck to the veg thing. If so, he's been pounding the ToFu.

Generally speaking .. Lsu.. USC, Clemson, Texas , Vandy, UCLA, Georgia Tech sell themselves..

I would encourage you to repair it at your age.
You are active and have many years ahead of you.
Next to full recovery would be expected.
Dr. Ostrander and Dr. Andrews are top notch. If you're in the panhandle region.
Best of luck to you.

Confused here in the South...

No bang for your buck.. Plus cheap meat...

That would be a great addition based on his comfort level with Coach M!!
I certainly agree... Support your son. It's his life decision. Let him live his life.... Period.

10/4 thanks for sharing!
U sat next to my buddy Mike (goatee- blue coaches polo and his brother Fred (w maize cap) . I think.. They were in seats to my left..
