short directional kicks?

I think those short directional kickoffs that came later in the game were by design to protect our shaky coverage team.

That was awesome!!!

Thanks for posting that. I just got even more pumped for tomorrow.

After the last historically bad couple of years,

could we seriously expect to be "there" in the 1st game,  after one off season with the 3rd staff in 4 years?

Right now it's all about teaching technique, something that was probably, (obviously) lacking previously.

But I have to admit that the improvement in the secondary, shown in this UFR, is promising.

Along with the confirmation that Kovacs is good, is it time

to except the fact that Will Cambell, while an incredible physical specimen, is simply not a football player? Very disappointing, but also fascinating that a guy could be that highly rated out of high school and be completely ineffective at the next level.

This would be the person you are referring to:

Believe it or not, it's actually not directly about Rodriguez. It's actually about Bill Martin.
Rodriguez and the football program are collateral damage in this guy's misguided vendetta.
He's a strong minority hire advocate and wanted English to get the job and has had it out for Martin going back to the firings of Ellerbe and Amaker. His wife is a freep columnist and a local news correspondent for WWJ-TV. He is on the board of regents at EMU, but is also UM alum and booster with deep connections in Detroit politics and media. He also has a consulting business that deals with-what a coincidence- compliance issues in college athletics.

Don't ask me how I know all of this. Just like Rosenberg, I'm quoting "unnamed sources".

He has some interesting quotes in this article. There is so much more to this story. But here's your starting point.
