Born in Michigan but grew up Born in Michigan but grew up in Colorado.

My first 3 years, we had 2 wins total. My senior year we went 6-4 because a guy named Steve Szabo was our DC after he helped out at nearby Colorado State. He coached the linebackers at Michigan in 2006 when they had that amazing defense but also coached the Patriots, Jaguars, Boston college, you name it. He played with Roger Staubach at Navy and fought in Vietnam. I played outside linebacker and Szabo was an incredible coach - no nonsense. His two a days were ROUGH. Even at 70 years old he'd put the fear of God in you if you screwed up.

That was so much fun. Also three years ago.
Coaching Staff

It's not just that Michigan is losing, it's that they're losing but they think they're just one play away from being national champions, which is entirely untrue. Michigan is lucky they've got seven wins this season. This arrogance that's passed down from Hoke and company that says, "We're Michigan, so we'll expect to win even when we don't prepare well enough," is truly pathetic. With Rodriguez, at least he was always fired up when the team was down in a game. You always knew adjustments would be made in the second half to try and mix things up. Not with Hoke. If you only looked at Hoke's staff throughout the game, you wouldn't know if they were winning or losing. I'm just so depressed about the future of Michigan football right now.

Coach Hoke

Coach, can you, you know, answer this question, you know,  without, you know, saying "you know"?

The Defense better improve....

The past three years defensively have obviously been nightmarish, but with Greg Mattison, who has been everywhere and is now back home, the defense better improve. I just can't take it much longer. One of the x-factors is whether William Campbell lives up to his hype or if he keeps goofing off. If it's the latter, expect teams to push him around and find easy holes to run through. If he lives up to his hype, he and Martin could really be a force to be reckoned with. Recruiting for '12 has been better than anyone has expected, and Hoke, although he doesn't sound smart, gets power football and has had success everywhere he goes. The offense will be great as long as Denard stays healthy, it's up to the defense to win games. It's hard to predict for this year, but I'm going to say 8-4 give or take a couple games.
