As a 12-year old born and raised on the Tigers, 1984 was a magical year. My brother and I remark about what a number of childhood memories center on those Tigers and other events of that year.
Much the same for 1997 Michigan football.
Even as a fan, you just know you are part of something special when it's happening.
Hoping for a magical October in Detroit and a return to enjoyable autumn Saturdays in A2 sooner than later.

Great addition to the blog.

my last game, so maybe this has been around for a while.
The salute of the Vietnam veteran was a real nice touch. You could see how much he appreciated it.

when I read this article about Hoke (wish I could embed the actual skit):
RIP Chris Farley
Long live Brady Hoke!

"Fig Things". Had forgotten about that one. Hillarious.

I am completely buying in on the Willie Henry hype. If the technique can begin to match the strength, opposing offensive linemen will tire from picking themselves up off the turf all afternoon.

- Multiple sacks by the D line.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||A 25 + point win that accomplishes||
the following would be great:
- No injuries
- Improved O line play
- Strong rushing effort
- No turnovers
- Multiple forced turnovers
- Multiple sacks
- Nothing revealed offensively for ND
- Everything else that will benefit us
That's all I request.

|8 weeks 6 days ago||Were Norfleet to eclipse||
Breaston's records- he'll have earned it. He has been an exciting return man and hopefully will finally reach pay-dirt on one this season.
However, what would Norfleet setting the record for number of KOR already as a junior mean? Did DN field a larger percentage of kick-offs than SB because the other return man caught more on Breaston's teams? I remember SB being injured from time- could this be why? And, the least desireable reason- have we been giving up so many scores that Norfleet can reach these marks already?
Not sure if we can really know this answer for sure......(I need to get back to drinking)
Anyway, here's hoping Norfleet smashes the records- by fielding only the 2nd half kick-off every game!

Fitz and the Tantrums did the 7th inning stretch.
Were they there?
Don't know too much about them.

stands behind the bleachers and under the scoreboard had Old Style.
The fact that regular seating cannot enter the bleacher area and vice versa may explain it. Maybe the bleacher seating is the only area of Wrigley selling it.

By the way- anyone else notice the spot at the end of the video about 2014 football tickets for sale? That topic has been well covered on this site, but I don't ever recall seeing it being advertised in this way before.

They seem to taunt you with the fact they can.

we had in 2011- tickets can be 16 inches long, weigh 25 lbs. and feature Rich Rod, GERG and Madonna on them for all I care!

Can anyone post this Beilein outburst?
Would love to see it.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||Thanks for the||
hard work and great article, Brandon.
Whenever I read about the character of these young men (recruits and current players) and see the comments that some of"their best qualities are off the field", the sting of this past season doesn't hurt as much. Success on the field is satisfying, but helping these men continue being valuable members of society and helping them earn a degree is worth rooting for as well.
Good luck to these recruits wherever they committ (Michigan!).

the Sugar Bowl?
Although only a few years ago, seems like 10 after this season.
Here's to better days ahead for both Junior and the MIchigan football team!
|1 year 3 weeks ago||Thanks for the post.||
As much as opposing teams can smell blood in the water after our last two efforts, the team that put up 59 points in the opener and played pretty well against ND is also in the back of their minds.
Which Michigan team will show up this Saturday?
|1 year 4 weeks ago||I find that games-||
and other things in life that you look forward to and anticipate- should be approached with hope, not expectations. Expectations can be difficult to achieve. And unmet expectations get me frustrated and can steal the joy of what overall is a great experience.
Hoping the boys have a good couple of weeks getting ready for the B1G schedule!
|1 year 5 weeks ago||Ugly- yes.||
This is still a fairly young team, and this is part of the growing pains.
Are they ready to handle the success and expectations that follow a big win like the ND game? Not quite yet, as today's game proved, but they won.
Part of the on-going learning will be how they respond this week in practice.
I am optimistic the UConn game will show they are still learning- and still moving forward toward a B1G champion-caliber team.
Better days (and better wins) ahead. Cheers!
