We're going to pursue a non-profit G-Suite (Google) setup first. Mainly because at least some people have familiar with Google docs/sheets and have Gmail, and because if we went with Slack we likely would be integrating with G-Suite anyway. So we may go Slack at some point, or at least when the board members consist of people who grew up with What's App and Slack, not Compuserve and AOL. :)
My first year in grad school I would grab two bean burritos and a Mountain Dew from the East U. Taco Bell and sneak it back to my study carrel as I questioned my own existence.
A couple years later, Bandito's hit the scene and had a huge bean burrito you could get for takeout for $1.95.

I'm not so naive to think that athletes aren't special and don't deserve special treatment. But Brandon basically divorced his department from the overall mission of the university. Athletics are PART of campus life; Brandon wanted athletics to be its own fiefdom where he was lord. Goodbye, DAB.
The release represents a strong forging of an important relationship with U-M students, who are an important strength of the University as it forges forward in its important mission of strong academics.
If Brandon forced the MMB to wear "I'm Thinking Arby's" hats and do a halftime tribute to Kraft, it would be 100 times more acceptable than this. This is insulting to everyone, and it was done with foresight and intention! I'm normally a fan of patience but this weekend is the final straw.

Sweet Polly Purebred I had no idea student tickets were so much. Hmm, looking at the inflation adjusted price for my first ever student season ticket that included games against Notre Dame, Florida State, and tOSU, it's about $125. Student tickets should be $25 a game, max.
That makes comparisons easier within and across years. It discounts the impact of serial SEC-style over signing but the advantages of interpretation are enormous.
But the U may also be working with a research partner to conduct the research. On the email -- I mean embed it into the comment itself. Or your phone number. Ideally some human is going to go through and read every comment. If a customer specifically asks for a follow up in a comment, good protocol is to actually follow up. But there may be a resource issue. So if you leave your email/phone in the comment itself and you hear back then you know that a) a human read it and b) they care enough to follow up. If you don't hear back it doesn't necessarily mean that a) and b) don't apply, but it's a hint at least one of them don't.

Some people believe you should only survey on what you can change -- and since the marketing team isn't going to change, say, the quality of the team or the schedule, they don't ask about it on the survey. I think that's shortsighted; you have to know what's driving people's opinions even if you can't change those factors.

3rd trip to the 'Shoe. Had seen a UM tie in '92 and loss in '94. OSU undefeated and #2. Seats down low right by the MMB. Buckeyes move the ball well in 1st half but settle for 3 FGs. Can feel tension in stands. Beginning of 3rd quarter, Griese to Streets, and a collective moan from the crowd. Michigan keeps pounding the ball, two more FGs, two girls teaching is a "Move the chains Move the chains MOVE-THE-CHAINS" chant, celebrating with band, looking up at a silent 'Shoe at the end of the game. Good times.
And of course '97, celebrating so much two bleachers broke.

- don't sneeze at r-squareds; an r2 of 0.3 is pretty big in this limited data
- that said, outliers are driving a lot of the r2, especially Michigan :( in the guards/rushing relationship

Less than 15 minutes? 0. $70 is a bit more than a t-shirt. Reverse-weave hoodie, at least!

Be curious if you do a time-lapse viz that looks at only the 4* and above recruits and shows where they came from by year -- is 2002 far enough back to show the migration of where the top recruits hail from?
Hard to believe I forgot something in that too-long post, but I did -- for whatever reason, the Columbus area is bad for allergies, according to a few doctors we talked to. The whole family is on Zyrtec; I only took it seasonally in Michigan.
I moved to the Columbus area a few years ago after nearly 20 in Ann Arbor. We chose Dublin based on proximity to work and schools, but many of the other communities mentioned are great. I would say that Upper Arlington (and Bexley) are the "old money' parts of Columbus -- great schools, great houses, but the $ per sq ft is super-high. That's one reason we ended up in Dublin. Downside of Dublin is that it's basically a community of subdivisions; unlike Ann Arbor there's very little "there" there. If you're going to be about an hour north of Columbus, that seems about Marion-area. Delaware (the town) is a bit hipper than Marion, and further south is Lewis Center (growing suburb) or Powell, which is like Dublin but with a nicer mini-downtown.
OSU fans are everywhere. Thank goodness the principal at my kids' elementary is a U-M grad! She promised my kids wouldn't get harrassed for wearing maize and blue -- though my daughter was given a buckeye necklace her first week at school. Ouch. The thing to remember is that the Buckeyes ARE the only game in town. It's not like Michigan where fandom is split between U-M and MSU, but then most fans unite behind the Detroit sports teams. Professionally, Columbus is split between Tribe and Reds, between Browns, Bengals, and Steelers, the Blue Jackets stink, and the Crew, while great (and yellow!) are "just" MLS. So everyone rallies around the Buckeyes. Imagine the Wolverines, Spartans, Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Pistons all rolled into one program. That's OSU. Red is everywhere. Everywhere! My recommendation would be to represent but just be prepared for some grief.
Generally it's a great area, and it's the most active economic region in Ohio (helped by OSU and the capital, along with Nationwide, the Limited, Battelle, Ashland, Cardinal Health, and a huge Chase operation). Moneybags Les Wexner has also endowed a pretty thriving arts scene. A couple negatives -- as a semi-foodie, the restaurant scene, while flourishing, is generally meh. Much better meals available in Ann Arbor (and, I'm sure, LA). Other downside is the topography. While there are hills about 45 minutes northwest, east, and south/southeast of Columbus, the city itself is in a major flat plain that runs more or less from Toledo down through Columbus and over toward CIncinnati. Oh, and the inland water sucks. Only lakes are reservoirs and most have issues with algae bloom. No Pure Michigan, for sure.
First, there is no evidence that replacing a coordinator systematically leads to better results. Sure, there are exceptions, but the overall rule is that a new coordinator does no better than the guy who got fired. Second, Borges just calls the plays -- most of them, anyway. Are the turnovers Borges's fault? The crappy blocking? The loss of two of our best running backs (assuming Denard got boo-booed in the 2nd half?). Third, we know Borges is pretty smart about football, at least based on his press conferences. And he's adaptable, trying to work with whatever parts he has at hand. Does he have a subconscious lizard brain? Who knows if it's his or Hoke's?
I love SmartFootball and the way he dissects offense. Apparently that's given everybody the ability to call a better game than a coordinator. Fans want their teams to be Legos, and if one part doesn't work, just swap it out for another one. I think teams are more organic than that, and parts aren't so easily swapped. Hoke has built this team and this is the staff HE wants. With Borges you get the good with the bad. If it was all bad, I'd be pissed. But it isn't all bad. He did call the Iowa game, after all. And the first half of the OSU game. Yeah, I know, and the trash tornado and Iowa 2011 and ND this year. So he's not perfect. If fans could armchair analyze defense as easily, they'd find Mattison hasn't been perfect, either. Should he go?
This is a TEAM, with everyone contributing to success or failure. The facile reductionism of pinning the blame on one guy is unwise, immature, and petulant. But go ahead, burn him in effigy. I'm sure the next guy will do better. Or worse.

May be a dumb question -- can the group "own" the docs? So when one president rolls off and the next one rolls on, you can just transfer that way?
One challenge is that most people do NOT have gmail addresses or are gmail users. Some people are using their work (!) email for it as well.
