4 years 51 weeks ago | its the fact that ESPN let |
its the fact that ESPN let him/ or planned for him to do this. I don't see the benefit in this for ESPN. You are a corporation with millions of customers, some of who you likely offended and for what gain exactly. |
4 years 51 weeks ago | He can have what ever beliefs |
He can have what ever beliefs he wants. However when you work for an organization like ESPN you should have the brains to not publicize beliefs that are likely to alienate a large portion of your viewership.
This post isn't political. I'm sure other people voiced the same opinion Broussard did today. They however don't work for a national sports network. He should not have went on TV and attacked Collins's religious beliefs, which is exactly what he did. OTL is now trending on twitter. I'm sure ESPN is thrilled. |
4 years 51 weeks ago | Its his opinion, but ESPN |
Its his opinion, but ESPN just offended a large portion of there audience by letting him go off like that. I really hope ESPN didn't know he was going to do that. If they did that was a terrible business decision. |

4 years 51 weeks ago | Its a hate group. The SPLC |
Its a hate group. The SPLC carries a lot more wait than you do. You said it wasn't controversial. It was. Do you remember the Pepsi commercial from that year or the Coke commercial? The SPLC is very well respected non profit organization that has spent decades fighting groups like the KKK. They are also listed as a resource on hate groups by the FBI. They also frequently partner with the FBI. Don't act like they are some fringe political group. They aren't. You can't seriously believe that the FBI would partner with them if they were.

The he has one a playoff game is the dumbest argument ever made in sports. It is a team sport. The LS won a playoff game to you know. Both of those GMs have since been fired. |
4 years 51 weeks ago | If you think that wasn't a |
If you think that wasn't a controversial commercial you are insane. His viewpoint happens to be one that tells other people how to live their lives. The majority of Americans and world are strongly opposed to his viewpoint, so how exactly is is not controversial? Oh and that group who he did the advertisement is officiallly designated as a hate group. |

Playing the everyone hates Christians card? Really? How about his history of supporting radical groups like the church he was going to speak at in the winter that has a history of spewing homophobic hatred and hatred towards all other religions (including other Christian religions). Or simply the fact that people are sick and tired about hearing about an awful QB. |

5 years 4 days ago | Not like the ACC did they |
Not like the ACC did they certainly didn't. The ACC could have stated they were starting a network like the Big10 did instead of spouting off about their Grant of Rights. They started a network and announced that. They did the same thing with the 50 million dollar exit fee and we know how that ended. The Big10 starting a network is not even close to the same thing as the ACC announcing a Grant of Rights. When the Big12 signed their grant of rights no one in the media was going on and on about how they would never lose another team like they are with the ACC now. Regardless of any future realignment moves the ACC is the decidely 5th placed conference in a 4 team playoffs and is made up of almost half of the former Big East. |
5 years 4 days ago | I stated that other |
I stated that other conferences also have them, however none of them made a point of trumpeting how iron clad is was. Only the ACC felt the need to do that. How enforceable does the ACC's 50 million dollar exit fee appear to be? No one outside of the ACC League Office actually thinks they are getting 50 million out of Maryland. |
5 years 4 days ago | I doubt his is enforceable. |
I doubt his is enforceable. Just because the ACC says it is doesn't make it so. The moresomeone screams that something is enforceable (which is in effect what the ACC is doing) the greater the chances are that they realize if someone challenges it that it won't be. How come you never hear the Big12, PAC12 or the Big10 flauting how similar agreements they signed make it impossible for them to leave? This will meet the same fate as the ACC's lawsuit with Maryland will.

Penn State has nothing to do with Kentucky. Not sure where you are going with that. My point was Louisville was under a lot of pressure to beat Kentucky and almost lost to a bad Kentucky team. |

Louisville has faced 1 kenpom top 20 team in the tournament and they played that team with a huge home court advantage. Michigan has faced 4, including Kansas which was basically a road game. Louisville almost lost to a 9 seeded Wichita St. team that ended up in the final 4 because they were in a terrible bracket. The pressure is all on Louisville. Winning the conference tournament counts for absolutely nothing, other then the additional games you won. It is not a part of seeding criterita. 10 losses isn't getting a 3 seed in my opinion. 5 years 6 weeks ago | Palm has them as an 8 seed. |
Palm has them as an 8 seed. They would have to fall to probably a 13 to be left out. 16 teams would have to pass them. As long that RPI stays top 40 they would be fine and it will. Look at who Kentucky, Tenn, St.Mary's, etc. have beaten. Those teams are on the right side of the bubble. A bunch of the bubble teams are in the SEC so they are going to eliminate each other. Who else would jump them? Maryland? No chance. Providence and St. John's probably will need to get to the Big East final. Iowa is going to be in front of them. They don't have the quality wins and they played a weak Big10 schedule. Umass and Xavier probably need to get to the A10 final. |

He could be right, but this guys loses nothing if he is wrong and looks great if he is right. How many false realignment rumors have we seen the past 2 years from random twitter sources. |
5 years 7 weeks ago | The outcome of the Big10 |
The outcome of the Big10 title game does have bearing on seeding. The committee has multiple scenarios mapped out depending on the outcome of the late title games. It does not occur after the committee has made their decision.. How could it? A team could make the final and be in a situation where the only way they get in is winning the autobid.
Beat Purdue and win the Big10 tournament and we get a 1 seed. |
5 years 7 weeks ago | Kansas has the TCU loss |
Kansas has the TCU loss draggin them down, Miami has lost to Florida Gulf Coast, WF, and Indiana St. Georgetown lost to USF. Most teams other than Duke and Indiana have bad losses. Even Duke has the Virginia loss which isn't looking that great after they collapsed at BC. |
5 years 7 weeks ago | They are not going to be a 5 |
They are not going to be a 5 seed. That is not happening. If they beat Indiana and get to the Big10 final they likely be a 1. For one seeds you have Indiana, Duke/ Miami (1 not both), Gonzaga and after that Big10 #2 or Kansas likely. Georgetown would have to run the table to be in the discussion and I don't see any chance of that happening. |

They should consider using some kind of strength of schedule to break ties at the end of the season to determine conference tournament seedings. Wisconsin missed both us and Indiana this year. I expect they will be an early exit from the NCAA tournament. |
5 years 7 weeks ago | Him and Palm have a habit of |
Him and Palm have a habit of making some suspicious last second changes to their brackets. Yahoosports' big board to me looks pretty accurate and its also easy to read. Lunardi yesterday had the Vols moving into the bracket after an awful loss to Georgia. That is not in any way logical. He has Alabama as the first team out. No way that is correct. The committee over the years has made it clear with the Pac12 that major conferences teams with nice records, but no good wins and alot of bad losses will not get the benefit of the doubt. |
5 years 7 weeks ago | Do not listen to Lundardi. |
Do not listen to Lundardi. His bracket sucks. Half of the time it does't even follow the bracketing rules the committee uses. |

5 years 9 weeks ago | I can't see both Miami and |
I can't see both Miami and Duke getting one seeds and the Big10 only getting 1. Miami plays at Duke and that game will either hand Duke another loss and remove them from the 1 seed conversation or knock Miami down so that the ACC tournament will likely decide which teams gets a one seed. Miami barely escaped Clemson, BC and an injury depleted NC St. Also the Indiana St. loss, which looked like it might not be a bad one, now looks like a bad loss. My guess for the 1 seeds is 2 from the Big10, 1 from the ACC, and 1 out of Gonzaga, Big East, Florida, and Arizona. |

I hate Big10 refs. It isn't rational that a team 6 steals, 5 OREB and 3 blocks and only 4 fouls. If you play like that you are going to foul more then your opponent. |

You don't play on the road in march so that comment is way off |
5 years 10 weeks ago | I bet Indiana and OSU |
I bet Indiana and OSU consider Illinois a tough place to play. How tough a road environment also depends on how good the opponent is. For instance Miami is not someone who has an arena that is tough to play in, but if say Virginia goes in there in a couple of weeks and wins everyone will consider that a great road win. |
5 years 10 weeks ago | I did not say at the same |
I did not say at the same level, but Indiana and OSU (who Illinois beat by 19) showed Illinois isn't an easy place to play. Wisconsin, OSU , and Indiana were the 3 toughest road games, but they were not by any means the only tough road games. The Big10 has 7 teams that are basically tournament locks. Michigan is 2-3 against them, 3-2 without a fluke shot at the buzzer. Illinois is no train wreck. They have wins over the #1 team, @ #5, #11 on a neutral court, and Minnesota. |
5 years 10 weeks ago | The pressue will be on Sparty |
The pressue will be on Sparty tonight as they are leading the Big10 as of right now. They haven't faced that kind of pressure yet this year and we have seen what the pressure of being #1 in the country has done to teams and we seen K-State get hammered last night by their rival when they were in first place in the Big12. Marquette was in first in the BigEast and they proceeded to lose to Georgetown. Arizona regained first place over Oregon and promptly lost at home to Cal. |
5 years 10 weeks ago | Indiana and OSU both lost at |
Indiana and OSU both lost at Illinois and we beat Illionois by 14. MSU lost at Minnesota and we won there. OSU doesn't visit Minnesota and Indiana and Wisconsin still have to. Saying we are 0-3 in tough road environments is not correct. |
5 years 10 weeks ago | Miami's 2 best wins were Duke |
Miami's 3 best wins are MSU at home, Duke at home without Kelly and at NC St. by a point without their PG. They lost by 12 to Florida Golf Coast and got destroyed by Arizona on a neutral court. The ACC is awful. Its Miami, Duke, NC St. and the other team that looks to be near the bubble is Virginia, who lost to 3-21 ODU and two other mid pack CAA teams. They also beat BC by a point. I fully expect Miami to lose at Duke. |

5 years 10 weeks ago | Considering those birds |
Considering those birds nearly went extinct being in an arena couldn't be any more dangerous for it than being in the wild. The chances of it being crushed would be about the same odds as someone getting hit by a bus. |

5 years 10 weeks ago | There is no tie-breaker for |
There is no tie-breaker for the Big10 title. Big10 will get 2 one seeds almost certainly, likely us and Indiana. Our schedule left is very favourable. It is going to be nearly impossible for the committee to forget the Kansas loss to Duke or Miami losing to Florida Golf Coast (though I think Duke destroys them and ends any thought of them being a 1 seed anyway. There NC St. and Duke wins have major astericks on them). |
