just to say this is outstanding. made me laugh sitting on my couch, and when my wife questioned why this happened, she had the same response when i told her... you win the internet, indeed.
Hockey Nat'l champs, Football nat'l champs, Hoops NIT champs. That was probably a little bit better. Granted, NIT is one thing, but they were still champs and the campus was excited about it when they won. Plus, tractor traylor was bringin' rims down!
Although I do agree that in terms of upside for the next few years, sky is the limit for all 3...
Miami is definitely worth checking out for the Orange Bowl, although my view is probably skewed because I was there for NYE 2000 in South Beach with the epic UM-Bama game the next day. South Beach was nuts for the millenium NYE needless to say. Probably better to go to the Orange Bowl around 'college age', as the attractions in South Beach are more suited to that demographic. Oh, and Bama fans were awesome tailgating but extremely pissed and spewing vitriol post-game. Guess I would have been too. Wide Tide!
Also Brian, yes, you are an idiot for not going to the '97 Rose Bowl as a student. Awesome. Although I think '99 Bama Orange Bowl was a better game. But man, 1997, my sophomore year - Football NC, Hockey NC, and hoops NIT champs to boot! Great years to be in Ann Arbor...
Go to Terry's Turf Club in the Nati for the best burger in town and a hopslam, sit at the bar and talk to terry, he'll throw you some extra food... and then enjoy the diabetes kicking in while on the couch watching football...
I know, I do feel a bit greedy... I actually went back within 24 hrs and they had 2 cases left. But it is an addiction, can't help it. Giving a 6-pack to my buddy who just had a kid helps my conscience? i can say that with a straight face...
Thanks for the tip, I have been calling binny's for two weeks asking if they knew when it was coming in, they claimed no idea, end of january. Sitting waiting for takeout last night and checked the site and saw this. Called them and sure enough they had it. Rushed over there 15 minutes before closing. One case per customer, I asked for 3 and the guy laughed at me and said he wished he could buy 3 as well... It sells out in chicago in like 2 days, going back today for another case...
Looooong time lurker, 1st time poster... Had to pop the cherry seeing this thread. Have twin boys due in 2 weeks! Extremely fired up. Do I really know what I'm in for in the 1st 3 months???
By the way, my wife gave the hall pass to head to AA on saturday 4 hours away, with the phone in my hand the entire time just in case. She is a keeper!!
