Sure it is. Michigan's pre-professional programs are far better. Michigan's research opportuntiies are far better. Michigan's science programs are far better. Michigan's graduate schools are far better (Med, Law, and Rackham). Undergraduate liberal arts are comparable between the two schools. I'm sure Catholics appreciate and get value out of the faith aspect of ND, but that doesn't make it better academically. Michigan is the better overall institution.

Well I'm clearly generalizing, obviously there are going to be plenty of exceptions and I'm glad you're one of them. That said, circumstantial evidence doesn't discredit the notion that ND is largely revered nationwide by Catholics and that bias artificially inflates their ranking past where they actually perform academically.

You're looking at the businessweek rankings which are pretty invalid and not widely used. For banking and consulting recruiting Ross is far better than Mendoza.

Only if you're looking at Businessweek rankings, which I don't think anyone besides ND people look at. As far as being a target school for Wall Street and consulting recruiting, Ross is undeniably better and has a much stronger presence in top firms. ND largely gets looked over.

Your data source is way off. Notre Dame is over $50k annually all in with tuition room and board. Northwestern is over $60k all in and Michigan out of state is around $50k as well.
|2 days 15 hours ago||That's not true. Michigan||
That's not true. Michigan grads have plentiful opportunities for amazing jobs right out of undergrad, much more than you'd find out of MSU. Hundreds of companies come to recruit on campus, especially for eng and ross. Kids without perfect GPA's are still getting jobs out of UM that state grads wouldn't even have access to apply to.

Notre Dame isn't better academically than Michigan. It gets a rating inflation because of the nationwide infatuation of the institution that Catholics give it, but Michigan's programs generally outclass those at Notre Dame and the plentiful research opportunities at Michigan aren't even comparable to Notre Dame. Michigan's business and engineering also are better than Notre Dame's. Northwestern probably has a slight advantage for sciences and liberal arts, but again for business (which NU doesn't even offer at the undergraduate level) and engineering I'd take Michigan regardless of cost difference. Whether or not 30k a year is worth it for one school over another is always a decision personal to a family, but don't short change what UM offers (especially over ND).

Sounds like it was. In his Instagram post he said Harbaugh offered a fifth year but he felt it was best for him to do his graduate year elsewhere.

He's a great player. I don't get why people here shit on announcers because they praise players on other schools. I've seen Besse play since he was in high school and he's really talented. Minnesota high school hockey produces a lot of great players, and Besse is already drafted and getting big PT as a young player in D1 without going to juniors.

In Bag Men there was mention of a going rate that it cost to get someone not to take a visit. I'd put money on that being the case right now.

Honestly, there's a big difference between what is officially allowed to go on in a suspension period and what actually goes on. Officially the chapter isn't supposed to operate in any fashion, socially or otherwise. In practice, big fraternities on campus are already prepared for scenarios where main activities are "officially" suspended. Big fraternities here all each have a network of satellite houses around Ann Arbor and are able to "slush" money to consistently rent out other venues to hold events in. At the end of the day, the right to assemble remains. Three huge fraternities are off campus and out of the ifc which means they're essentially permanently "suspended" from having functions with IFC and Panhel organizations, but it happens anyways, and easily. That's just how it is.

Mudbowl still goes on as normal. Technically sororities aren't supposed to mix with them but it happens all the time anyways. Easy to get around the rules (as with most things).

The greek system at UM is thriving right now. Numbers are at an all time high, over 20% of undergrads are now in greek life. A new sorority was added this year as well as a couple new fraternities over the past two years, and another sorority is planned for 2016 or 2017.

I'm going to the game on Saturday. I'm not expecting anything within 15 points, but winning this game made it way more exciting. The expectations aren't going to be sky high, but at the same time people are going to be looking forward to spike dishing it off to Dolye and MAAR tossing a dime to Dawkins. College basketball has never truly been about wins or losses in its core for me and the last few years have produces players I'll cheer for come thick and thin. I just want to see out guys play out of their potential. The game vs Wisconsin should provide just that and I'm excited.

They always say "Russell Wilson out of Wisconsin" which I find interesting. I guess that's what people remember him for most but obviously he spent way more time at NCSU.

After UTL 2011 that's all I can think about when a team is driving with around 2 minutes left.

I wonder if Woodson would ever consider a role with the coaching staff after he retires. I'm sure he's already set financially, but his recruiting prowess would be legendary and he still clearly bleeds blue all the way. It'd be so cool to have him back in a few years.

He's working on one with John Saunders, topic unknown, as well as a project on Herb Brooks and the 1980 Olympic Team. Very possible he gets going on something concerning 2014 Michigan football as well. He always takes the winter semester off from teaching to work on writing books, so hopefully something gets out this year.

Heads up people: Rutgers isn't that bad at basketball. Should have been fairly obvious when they beat Vandy and @Clemson, and even more so when they beat Wisconsin. There's a good program building in Piscataway.
