Does anybody remember any Does anybody remember any player who committed to Michigan very early in the process, let's say over his junior year, who has been the best player of the class? Off the top of my head I can think of Ricardo Miller, Shane Morris, George Campbell, Marvin Robinson, this Ward kid who ended up going to Purdue las year, Vlad Emilien, Dymonte Thomas, Shaun Crawford, and now Erik Swenson. It sucks for a kid like Swenson or Miller, because you can tell they love Michigan from the very beginning. But I wonder if talent evaluation has been a problem with predicting how a player will develop over such a long span of time. We have seen a lot of these player's stock fall like a rock over their senior year and we have been watching them go from 5 to 3 stars. And deservedly so. The thing with a guy like Hoke is that he was truly honorable and was willing to stick to his word, even against the best interests of the team. Don't you think he knew Shane was not as good as he expected him to be by the time he signed? I'm not saying he should have pulled his offer, but by then he hadn't added any Qb in the previous class nor kept any other option for 2013. I love Harbaugh and even though I don't really like how some kids are been pushed out of the class, I don't think you can win when you choose to drag dead weight that is impossible to avoid with projecting kids so far before they have to actually play for you. I think recruits are doing themselves a disservice by starting their recruitment so far before they sign. Coaches cannot wait, because if you don't start recruiting a kid at least during their junior year you have no chance of getting him, but it's risky business, because is really hard to project how good anyone is going to be 2 or 3 years in the future, so there are two possible scenarios in the end if they don't develop as expected, you either commit to a coach that sticks to his word and the team is not that good (Ricardo Miller, Marvin Robinson, Jerald Robinson, Shane Morris, Denzel Ward) or you commit to someone who wants to win and end up out of the class.

For a second i expected this thread to be about a bengal tiger.... stupid life of pi

Mmm.... 0.69m isn't  a short

Mmm.... 0.69m isn't  a short length at those levels, that's over 2 ft. Not to say Jackson is not a great athlete though.

I remember getting more

I remember getting more excited about the commitment of both kellen jones and antonio poole over jake ryan and desmond morgan, jt turner over courtney avery, terrance robinson over roy roundtree, sam mcguffie over michael shaw, ricardo miller over drew dileo, marvin robinson over thomas gordon... do i need to keep going? needless to say i try to give guys a shot before passing judge on them now...

Im not sure if i am writing

Im not sure if i am writing this because im drunk, but i've never been at ann arbor and im not even american... im one of those fans that get to know and fall in love with the school, because of knowing people who went there... that plus the fact that i found the history and tradition very likable, its easy to fell in love with a school like that... i might be what some people refer to as a walmart wolverine, nevertheless one of the goals i have in life is to attend a game at michigan stadium. I have been a fan, that follows recruitment, and watches every game for at least 5 years now btw...

I'd say he did it to prevent

I'd say he did it to prevent people in bucknuts  to inform the rest of the world that his offer to OSU was un-commitable anyways once he choosed to go elsewere

Feeling a little insulted

Feeling a little insulted here, but i'll nod along

Hope it works out the same

Hope it works out the same way it worked with Jake Ryan 3 classes ago. Ohio getting Scott McVey, The highly touted linebacker recruit out of san ignatious and Michigan getting Ryan, his 2 star late bloomer with MAC offers team mate... I'm very happy with the result.. just saying'...

Taylor Lewan said that the

Taylor Lewan said that the three interior lineman are also seniors!! he's leaving!

/Freak out

I just don't care, still

I just don't care, still enjoying the mere fact of having a baltic named tall canadian as a SG. It's well known having one on your team is not just effective, it makes you cooler.

It  really annoys me to

It  really annoys me to watch  players such as zettel or dee hart  playing for other teams. Dawson would be just there, but only worst since he's from cass tech and he would be playing for a rival.

Is it wrong that i want him

Is it wrong that i want him to be a part of the class over the westcoast kids just because it means neither sparty nor ohio can get him?

Now i get MSU fans.. It would

Now i get MSU fans.. It would suck to root for that team, i feel guilty wishing they complete the passes and stuff, yet they are always shooting themselves in the foot with stupid flags. Gotta be so frustrating to actually wish they win every game.

It's funny how they keep saying it doesn't look like a Dantonio coached team week in and week out when they go mad and start collecting personal fouls.

Was it me or JT Floyd played

Was it me or JT Floyd played a hell of a game today? I recall some nice pbu's and real nice run support.I think he even took  care of the fullback in a 3rd and goal.

I heard he cancelled his trip

Always underestimated how easy it was to double post

I heard he cancelled his trip

I heard he cancelled his trip to East Lansing after this visit.
