Hope grad here...

I too am surprised by the presence of Hope/Calvin/WMers. I never went to a game or got too into the rivalry during my 4 years at Hope, but sure enjoyed the time there. Great college. I just spent most of my rooting on UofM! Proud to have degrees from both schools!

Tough to say

I'm always hesitant to judge a conference on a bowl season, with 5+ weeks of preparation for a team, you'd damn well better have the best game plan of the year ready. So I think sometimes things can be misleading, I know when we beat Florida a few years back it may have been a different story had we just faced Georgia the week before instead of having so much time to rest and prep. But that remains unknown.

I will say, selfishly I was hoping the Big10 would get trounced in the bowl season and then make a comeback behind a resurgent Michigan team next year, with much credit falling to the Wolverines.

This is just it...

it may have been 100% innocent, but Braylon must know that a comment like that is not going to help to smooth any dissension within the fan base. I can't speak for him, and yes this was very minuscule, but I'd be quite careful with my words and try and reflect nothing but support for my alma mater.

Nothing good

can come from a comment like that, has Braylon just lost his mind since going pro? Shut up, play ball, support your alma mater. If he was worrying less about stuff like that maybe he'd actually be playing up to his talent level again.

Prediction

3 arrests.

Jefferson/Stills

Sounds like a band I would listen to.

oh doctor

I'd love to travel to those away games, Boulder is like Ann Arbor of the Rockies, with slightly more hippy infusion.

Remember when Brandon Graham

Remember when Brandon Graham entered MSU's backfield and showed Glenn Winston what violence is really like. That was fun.

Not a big fan

of these "alleged" stories from random radio callers. We sure have had our share of rumors twisted and turned into BS at UM over the past few years and it's maddening. I don't really care where it happens, I'm just not a fan of these internet rumors that explode into madness instantaneously before any chance of factuality presents itself. Well, that is unless it happens at Ohio State, fuck them.

If I'm Notre Dame's AD...

I hire an inexperienced football coach from a small high school in Wyoming where they play 8-man football. I give him, or preferably her, a deal worth 1.5x Weis' contract. I then sit back in my super expensive chair, pull back on my block M hat, tap fingers, say "exxxxxxxxxxcellent!"

Gummer.

I'm in the minority...

but I don't think Donovan Warren is AS good as he's often given credit for. Don't get me wrong, he's a very solid player, but I believe he stands to benefit quite a bit from one more year in CFB. I think his value is boosted by a lack of talent in the rest of the secondary, therefore making it even less attractive to throw his way. When people do throw in his direction he's usually within close enough proximity to the receiver to make the tackle before many YAC are accumulated, but I don't see him right in the pocket of the offensive player breaking up the pass often enough. I think another year at Michigan and he makes that step to be as good as many perceive him to be, and helps his draft status substantially. I hope it is the case that he does choose to stay for his 4th year and has a very strong campaign on a defense that (hopefully) makes big strides. If he does end up declaring for the draft, then best of luck, I'll be rooting for him on Sundays.

I recall several times during

I recall several times during the game yesterday thinking to myself "why did Shaw take so long to cut into that crease?" It appeared to me that he was a bit slow in his reads, hopefully that's something that improves heading into next year.

TreseLLLLLL. How many L's before he's sent to sweater vest heaven?

Either way

not where we want to be. We will get there, we certainly didn't go 1-7 due to a lack of hard work. I have faith, and lots of it.

semantics

I'm not sure I'd call it a "good day" as no day is good that involved a UM loss to OSU. I would however call it an encouraging day and an important building block heading into the... sigh... offseason. No doubt in this guy's mind that the compass points towards the right direction.

Why was this thread not titled...

Safety Stevie often angered

Safety Stevie often angered me, but he had a great year. He showed up and played hard every game. I always thought he looked good when he wasn't in coverage at safety so this position really allowed him to thrive. Good for him, I will miss him.

classic TV in the making

I love every segment that involves Lou Holtz slobbing over ND. Each time we're one step closer to Mark May crushing Lou's skull on live TV. I thought the ND vs. Pitt segment would finally be the one tonight. It wasn't, and to think I made popcorn for nothing. Oh well, popcorn is good.

with any due respect

My thoughts are that I trust Coach Rod, someone who understands offenses and breaking down other defenses more than 99.9% of us could ever hope to. He also has the most access to his players to understand which mismatches could benefit us, and there's not a shadow of doubt in my mind that if he sees Denard starting giving us the best chance at winning, that WILL happen.

obviously

Woodley = pure man.

I hope when UF is up by 50

I hope when UF is up by 50 Tebow walks over to Kiffin on the sidelines and takes off his shoulder pads displaying a shirt to which Kiffin respods, "hey that's my wife!" And Tebow says, "and that's me!" A la Doug Remer in Baseketball. If anyone could do it, Tebow could.

Ask them how long the

Ask them how long the suspension was for the Boise St. player who's hit on the shoulder after a game led to another player's year long suspension?

Another thing...

it would be nice to see a few sets with Tate/Denard both in the backfield. Not too revealing, but a few plays to test some things out, and to put a little thought into the back of the minds of future opponents.

Tate beyond earned the next

Tate beyond earned the next start. Hopefully he's able to come out, after all of his crazy hype this week, and show how far beyond his years he truly is and put together another solid performance. I hope Denard gets at least a quarters worth of snaps, and it would be nice if Sheridan has a series or two when the game is out of hand. But in my opinion, with all the crazy amount of press Tate has gotten this week, this game will be as telling, if not more, about how far beyond his years he is. Because this is a classic set up for a letdown in performance. Not a loss, but a decrease in efficiency and a few lackluster plays. I'll be watching intently.

Michigan's rapid improvement calls Pryor's college choice into question -Mandel

I pick Tate, what an easy dude to root for. No doubt about it though Pryor would be an absolute monster in this offense, but his inability to throw will continue to come back and bite him.

Congrats to both of them. I

Congrats to both of them. I was very happy to see Stonum step up in that game, great job in multiple facets of the game. The kid, well the kid's got the Forcier.

Classy move

That's not something I would expect, but assuming this is true, Clausen just went up a few notches in my book. And the dude looked dang good throwing the ball too. I guess it's no longer a tie, Pryor moves into the clear lead for my most hated CFB player.

I had to miss the WMU game

I had to miss the WMU game for a wedding, so the ND game was the first time I heard it, and I've got to say I was a fan. I thought it got the crowd rockin' during a lull that was a commercial break or waiting for things to set up and I noticed it was usually piped in right about when ND was entering their huddle and it got the stadium rocking! It was great as it really elevated the noise earlier in their play calling, and the crowd noise certainly had an effect on the game. I'd say so far so good, but realize it's still a work in progress.
