Jim Tressel resigned

My post from the other Chad Kelly thread

Hey guys, I live in New York and in fact go to Canisius, the rival of the team that Chad Kelly plays for. While they did snap our 5 game win streak over them with him at the helm it was more a result of their insanely fast RB. Kelly doesn seem to throw very well but from what I saw is very fast and is a halfway decent corner (note this is Western New York football so who knows how good he really is). For a little perspective my school has produced three D-1 talent players in the past 3 years. John Urschel who is a guard at Penn State, James Gaines who is the starting middle linebacker at University of Miami (FL), and mst recently Travis Eman, who turned down offers from TCU, Syracuse, Boston College and the Univesity of Buffalo. He seems to have serious character issues according to kids at his school/ on his team. Sorry if my post isnt up to Mgoblog standards I don't post much.

EDIT: Removed unsubstantiated rumors.

Also, i'm not sure if its a fact or just a rumor, but i've heard that the kid is outrageously dumb and a few of my friends who go to his school say they'd be surprised if he even is eligible for college academically. There is a reason the students at our school chant "Chad can't read" during football games. Sorry if my post isnt up to Mgoblog standards I don't post much.

Absolutely, sorry im still

Absolutely, sorry im still relatively new and am not quite sure what belongs on the board and what does not. I thought that it may pertain to potential character issues.

This isnt necessarily true

This isnt necessarily true anymore, this year they just deferred all of their early applicants.

I'm a currently deferred

I'm a currently deferred prospective student and i can tell you that the admissions process is getting much more difficult. They had a 20% increase in applications this year, possibly from their switch to the common app. For extracurriculars, try to specialize in things he likes. If your son likes politics try debate team or mock trial, if he likes science try looking for some kind of internship at a hospital or something. However with the acceptances i've seen this year I can honestly say that even if he is overqualified there is a chance he may get rejected. Though Michigan takes a holistic approach and a strong body of work is important sometimes it can come down to a little bit of luck. Hope that helped.

Whoa, I was unaware that Rush

Whoa, I was unaware that Rush Limbaugh was roaming the MGOBoard.

I remember my first Michigan

I remember my first Michigan Admissions letter... it was a deferral... im still waiting :'(

I'm not so sure. It kind of

I'm not so sure. It kind of seems to me that based on Hoke's disdain for "basketball on turf" the coaches may try and recruit more pocket-oriented passers, than mobile QB's who can be converted to other positions.

There's a play in the five

There's a play in the five wide set with arkansas, i believe it is the short pass audible, that whilst messing around I discovered is nearly uncoverable. The two WR's on the right run slants the inside man on the trips right runs a hitch, the middle receiver in the trips runs a quick out, and the outside receiver runs a streak. Its completely indefensible. I they run man, thro a slant, if they run cover 2 time the throw to the streak, if they run cover 3 hit the hitch... its so gamey.

As a Buffalo Bills fan I can

As a Buffalo Bills fan I can honestly say that he reminds me a lot of JP Losman +3 inches or so. Amazing college career, not so amazing pro career...

2-3 quarterbacks seems a

2-3 quarterbacks seems a little excessive for this class. Plus, I believe I heard the staff is only looking for 1 quarterback per class. Also, not to be THAT guy but i'm not really sure you can pass judgement on pocket presence based on passing drills.
