"He makes it really easy on you as a coach because he has tremendous football instincts," Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh said. "Things come really naturally to him. He doesn't have to see things too many times. He has a good sense for how things should look and feel, and he's a tough, physical guy."

i still think you should try and lead the receiver. it's much easier for a receiver to adjust forward than backward.

guys like larry czonka, jerome bettis, christian okoye or brandon minor didn't make guys miss much. smith seemed to take a step back against unlv, but he definitely showed patience in the osu game, waiting for his blockers. hopefully, he can continue to improve there, because he does run hard.
that said, i like the potential of Drake the best. he does have the ability to make guys miss and great speed to go with it.

maybe not this game. but if it was an important game like big ten title game or nat'l title game, bet a grand or more against michigan and attend the game. if UM wins, the grand means nothing given the outcome. if UM loses, you attend the game for nothing. you win either way.

i noticed that he had 11 helmet stickers. how? did he have that many good plays in the first two games? he will surely get a few more after today.

i still think he is our most explosive runner with best vision and cutting ability. gotta keep him healthy.

when we made the final 4, burke led that team, player of the year. and he was lower ranked coming in than our newest commitment.
mcgary was a high recruit and definitely was key to the run. GRIII was the highest rated recruit in that class but i don't believe he played to that ranking; though he was a key component.
when we made the final four, i could argue morgan was the key player on that team; especially the way he handled the bigs on the other teams during that run. we were picked to lose a few of those games because of our disadvantage in the paint. morgan won those battles. only the refs took him out of the kentucky game. morgan was a borderline 2*/3*.
Comparing Rivals' rankings of key players:
Finals team: Burke (#142), GRIII (11), McGary (30), Stauskus (71), Hardaway (NR in top 150), Morgan (NR)
Current team: Irvin (#24), Walton (37), Levert (NR), Chatman (25), Wilson (86), Doyle (NR). Wagner is a wild card many think would be ranked in top 50.
To me the rankings are very similar, so yes JB can compete with that. Sure, i would have liked to get a top 50 wing player but we ended up with watson and wagner. If the key players get healthy, Doyle improves and Wagner and Robinson provide depth, this team can make a deep run.

how did JB "fuck up" langford/battle? battle is the guy that bailed and he lost langford as a result. it sucks for us but dumb kids change their minds. that said, should JB still be recruiting hard for PGs and Cs in this class? i mean, god forbid, if one of them decommits.

i think JH can land some quality future TEs w/o Clark's baggage, especially since JH has showcased all 3 TEs already this year in just 2 games.

you mean guys with a track record of winning in smaller markets...unthinkable.

outside of kentucky, who???

JB needs to work on that shot though. he doesn't follow through and has very little rotation. he can only get better.

dawson is a better fit for the nba. he is a better scorer in transition. nba is more of a transition game. he is also willing to do the dirty work like playing D and rebounding. it will be interesting to see if he can handle some of the nba's 4s.

you realize he played a number of years in the nfl (indy i think). honestly, there is not one guy on the current team i would take over the 97 team given your specific matchups.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Lloyd||
had a way of minimizing his QB's talents. brady is a prime example. his O during the henne years also bothered me. i loved mike hart, but how many times did UM run hart off tackle on first down then second down? then, say "hey, chad, it's 3rd and long. keep this drive going". if lloyd threw on first down consistently with that team, we may have got a MNC and henne would be a god here. and hart would have been equally effective.

osu thumped UM in 1998. i don't remember details, but i do remember brady being under pressure all game with no running game.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||steele||
doesn't get nearly enough credit on that team. that guy beat anyone and everyone. because of that we didn't need to blitz much, though when we did, it was very effective, especially when guys like woodson blitzed off the edge. i remember steele making sparty's RT look silly all game. i can't remember his name but i think he was an all pro for dallas a few years.
too bad steele didn't cash in. back problems curtailed his nfl career.

Bo >>>>> Lloyd, especially on a pure coaching evaluation. 13 BT titles in 20 years is far better than 5 out of 13. Lloyd got the MNT, but Bo was very close a few times and likely robbed on that missed FG at OSU.

in a moment of frustration, i remember a washed-up archie with the vikings throwing a 20-30 yard spiral underhanded while under pressure and caught by a receiver. blew my mind at the time.

curbstomped us at home last year. it's in minny this year. i certainly would not call that game a "should win" game. more of i hope we win that game. toss up game to me.

i don't remember many thinking hoke was a better coach than RR. personally, mattison was the only coach i was happy about with that change. all of the others were a wait and see and hope.

get through your head. that is horrible advice for a two-year window. similarly, there are many college investment accounts started for children. a good strategy is to invest in an S&P fund when young, but gradually move to safer investments as the child approaches 18; ie. gov't bonds.

you can perform day-to-day activities w/o an acl. however, to do athletics, my knee was unstable if I cut left or right. one would need a good knee brace to get by.

having grown up in a college town, i think this is not good. iirc, the students get a rep on the city council. however, if you have students getting elected to city council, they likely are gone in a few years and don't have to live with the decisions they make. it may all sound good, but the residents living there for the long term have to live with those decisions.
sorry, but students often do not even pay income taxes in MI but in the state they come from.

imo, for a red zone target; similar to fauria with the lions.

tate could have salvaged that season after denard got hurt. he would have got plenty of PT as a backup.

tell me the last time the dodgers won a pennant????
and they always have a huge payroll. this year may finally end their streak of futility.
