fsu has 3 long TDs in the second half by 3 different true frosh. inconceivable.
|6 hours 49 min ago||uh||
you are ignoring his point about the other 7-8 returning starters improving. we lost one good player off that 2010 D.
that said, i guarantee that RR's 2011 offense would have outperformed the borges offense.
but the final 3 games of 2010 was RR's death nell. had they been competitive in the bowl, he may have saved his job. but they got drilled. the program was toxic and a change needed to be made. brandon f-d it up though. he made a change for change sake only and didn't make a competent hire.
at least i had confidence in most of RR's asst coaches (DC and DB coach excepted). Hoke's staff pretty much all stink, except maybe mattison who is merely adequate. nuss gets an incomplete.

eight men out, if realism is the most important criterion.

borges had perhaps the #! dual threat QB of all time and tried to turn him into tom brady. and he got worse each year. ditto for DB who was the #1 dual threat QB in his class. now, that may be borges or hoke. but borges should take a lot of blame. then there is 30 for 30.
nuss on the other hand can't be expected to cure DG. and i can't really say i'm that disappointed in his play calling. even against sparty, if the WRs don't drop passes in and around the enzone, UM scores 24+. nuss ain't the problem; moreso funk.
|23 hours 5 min ago||that speaks volumes||
if those are the first 3 guys that come to his mind in 4 years. wow. just wow.

btw - for love of the game sux. very cheesy movie and i'm a huge tiger and baseball fan.

you act like it's some widespread problem when it's much less than 1% of the student population focused in likely one academic department intended primarily for athletes.
ya, good reason to take down an entire university.
kill that academic dept and penalize the athletic dept.
|1 day 18 hours ago||you realize||
that 3000 students over 18 years is about 160 students per year. and i'm guessing the vast majority of those were athletes. what are there, 30k students at UNC? so penalizing the entire university is unwarranted. slamming the athletic dept is the right thing to do.

Pretty close currently

JB wants to go big when chatman or irvin need a rest.

I can see him being paired with donnal since donnal can play outside on offense. that way the 4 or 5 position on D is irrelevant.

looked confused again against osu. he wasted another time out at the end of the game. and it also appeared that they won the coin toss and wanted the ball first in the OT. i couldn't believe that. unless the refs screwed that up too. but it appeared that the psu captain was asking to get the ball.
|3 days 17 hours ago||yep||
funchess drops TD. canteen drops pass at the three. we get zilch on those possessions. different game if we get those two scores.
but Nuss is an idiot.

is the guy from monty python and the holy grail when you need him "bring out your dead!"
|4 days 11 hours ago||totally disagree||
football is UM's #1 cash cow by far for it's athletic department. and it's the AD's job to ensure its continued success. to oversee a declining/failing football program, yet taut the basketball and softball successes as reasons to keep his position is just plain wrong.
that would be like the CEO of dominos wanting to keep his job while pizza reviews and sales are declining but saying, "hey but our breadsticks sales are up".
based on what i've read, future athletic dept budget projections are precarious, the football program is in disarray, the fanbase feels alienated. that is all on dave brandon.
brandon must go. asap.

me thinks you are enjoying this thread a bit too much...
|1 week 11 hours ago||building on that||
imo, we need a defensive TD a special teams TD and some prayers.
|1 week 2 days ago||wow||
especially since JH is about 10 years younger than DB.

TP costs less than $1 per roll unless you are using silk. so if you are using a roll every 3 days, you should probably see a doctor or eat shredded wheat every breakfast.
|1 week 2 days ago||disagree||
1. it was osu's president that said he was worried about tressel firing him. that's what a joke that school is.
2. it is obvious that brandon wants top billing at all costs. i've never seen an AD look for more media exposure than him. he was there cutting down the nets for the final four a few years ago. what a joke.
3. he watches football game fiilm with the coaches. again what a joke.
what coach worth his salt would want to deal with any of that BS.
|1 week 2 days ago||i doubt it||
older and stronger teams will outmuscle us in the paint with a bunch of skinny frosh playing there. that said, i see this team struggling a bit early but becoming a scary team come march.
|1 week 2 days ago||chatman||
disagree on him. if he can improve the range on his shot at all, he will should have an overall game not unlike jalen rose (both left handed too). jalen lasted quite a while in the nba.

you must be kidding right? you are most concerned about replacing a back up point guard? not sure what to say about that.
spike is a much more servicable player than i had anticipated but i have very little concern about replacing 10-15 of his playing minutes. the incoming class can easily take over those minutes...plus we have a guy named walton on the team.
|1 week 2 days ago||GRIII||
his rebounding was the most disappointing part of his game, imo. i believe he barely averaged 3 rebounds per game. that's a joke for a power forward getting 30 min per game. you should luck into that many.
rebounding is mostly hustle and desire. GRIII seemed to lack that. hopefully, his replacements will have more.

i would gladly wait until january and trade most of the 2015 recruiting class for a harbaugh in a second. good coaches can coach-up mediocre talent. we currently have a staff that can barely coach-up anything; nothing resembling their potential anyways.
so yes, i would take a full class of 2015 3* guys to land either harbargh. remember, that class would be surrounded by plenty of 4* and 5* guys from other classes.
|1 week 2 days ago||similar story||
passed to me thru the grapevine of someone formerly involved in UMs athletic dept, jim indicated that he wanted to return and coach UM. unfortunately, there was no timeframe given to the info i was provided. it could have been for 10 years from now as far as i know.
|1 week 2 days ago||but||
doesn't he still have an office at schembechler hall? if so, not really distancing himself from involvement.
|1 week 2 days ago||well||
that's why you write it in pencil.

i'm tired of this overrated defense too. but for a different reason than you obviously.
that said, they did finally play to their potential against psu. let's hope they can live up to the hype against msu.
|1 week 4 days ago||QB||
was also credited with 10 rushes for minus 12 yards. so he had a combined minus 1 yard on 25 touches. i don't think i have ever seen a QB have negative yardage after that many touches.
