I loved this scene in Chicago. The movie version was pretty cool as well. |
8 years 5 weeks ago | Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell and Charlie Pierce's out of control |
Cedric "Cornbread" Maxwell and Charlie Pierce's out of control eyebrow made this a 10 out of 10. New Favorite Quote " If I had a class of water and one of them (Lakers) was on fire, I'd drink the water and watch" - Cornbread Enjoy the rest of your weekend |

8 years 7 weeks ago | Zoltan just stared at the weights and they did 50 reps themselve |
Zoltan just stared at the weights and due to his complete awesomeness, they did 50 reps themselves. They only did 50 since he didn't want to show-off |
8 years 7 weeks ago | Tate Forcier |
QB is the toughest position to play and 110,000 have an opinion on every move you make. This team goes as far as Tate Forcier or whoever the starting QB is takes them. |
8 years 7 weeks ago | Mallett is a head case, but has all of the tools |
It would be tough to justify drafting Tim Tebow over Ryan Mallett. Mallet is 100% a head-case, but he has all of the physical tools you would want in a NFL Quarterback (arm strength, size, etc). There are always teams (Raiders) who think that their coaching staff can coach maturity, etc. Drafting in the NFL is 100% based on potential, not results. |

Just trying to pay Brian some props with a light-hearted sense of humor! |

Brian Cook from MgoBlog. Absolutely awesome! The man should be teaching journalism classes at Michigan. |

A wonderful place where generation after generation can learn about glorious history of Michigan Football. Sir, I salute all of your efforts! |

8 years 10 weeks ago | Kids are going to go where they want to go |
Kids are ultimately going to go where they want to go and where they feel the most comfort. I'm sure the high school coach plays a role in helping shape their direction, but I truly believe that the student-athletes and their immediate families make the ultimate decision. In the year 2010, it is almost as easy to get a kid from 2,000 miles away as it is to get one right down the street. It has nothing to do with effort on the part of the coaches. Not every soul in the state of Michigan is going to be a UM fan. I am sure that the coaches try to as many good players as possible to wear the winged helmet. I also am quite certain that RR does everything possible to maintain a good relationship with several HS coaches. You can't please everyone all of the time. I would just relax and enjoy the ones who want to play for the Leaders and Best |

What put it over the top was the kick ass awesome sound track in the background. |

I can't see how this is going to help Edward's career in the long run. Why would anyone want to hire a dude who's word isn't worth shit? Why take the job in the first place? You are coaching at UF, not working at a walmart. EDIT: Yes mgoworld, I am a dumbass! It has been a long week! |

8 years 19 weeks ago | You can add that few outside the fans actually want a playoff. |
The coaches - unless you have a legit shot at winning in a given year, they don't want a playoff. For most schools, going to a bowl game is considered a successful season. Why would any coach want to dramatically increase the level needed to consider the season a success. The programs/schools - they want pretty pictures to put on the brochures they send to recruits. More bowls, more pretty pictures. Plus, gives smaller schools the chance to be on ESPN and show their program to potential recruits, students. Also, add the fact that 30+ teams end their season with a victory. The NCAA - They love to spread the myth of college football that every game matters, blah, blah, blah. With no playoff - there is some kernel to truth to that statement. Add a playoff, football's regular season looks like basketball's. Most of America only cares about college hoops because of the NCAA tourney. However, none of these matter compared to the main reason listed above - The almighty dollar and who gets to keep most of the dollars. |
8 years 20 weeks ago | Here goes nothing |
I would point to the fact that several professional athletes go to him on a regular basis. I would take that to indicate he must be pretty good at what he is doing. I don't remember hearing too much about people going to Coach Gittelson once they left UM. I do think people over-rate strength and conditionining in terms of sports. It is important, but I would also assume that most DI athletes are in relatively good physical shape or they wouldn't be DI athletes. It is not, nor should it be, the end all of be all of sports or competition. For Example (This is silly, but I like it anyway. You can take the world's most physically fit chicken and put him in a room with the world's laziest and slowest lion and I'm pretty certain your going to have instant McNuggets every time (This is from some stupid TV show in the 80's - but this is the only line I remember) Barwis is a good piece, but is only a single piece of what is needed to be successful |
8 years 20 weeks ago | Hell will freeze |
Hell will be frozen to the core, pigs will fly, the Cubs and Lions will win the World Series and Superbowl respectively and Charlie Weis will have a size 30 waist before UM will lower prices. If you were UM, would you lower prices knowing you have thousands of people who will give anything and any amount of $$$$$$ for season tickets. I assume the waiting list is a long as ever. Supply and Demand at its finest. |
8 years 20 weeks ago | FYI (for Irish) -Where do you see Golden Tate if he comes out? |
I can't see any situation where he gets past the mid-20's in the draft this year. If forced to pick - I am thinking mid-teens myself. Decent size, looks like fantastic speed in games, solid hands (looking for your opinion here), plus seems a demon in special teams and the return game. We all know that NFL teams creams in their pants over this (Dante Hall, Devon Hester, Cribbs) What is your opinion since you follow them pretty closely - Can never think too early about fantasy football for 2010? |
8 years 20 weeks ago | Two things I will miss (Not a haiku) |
His great knack for putting together a charmin soft defense against either the pass or the run year after year. His ability to waste the talent of several 5 star recruits season after season. Thanks for keeping us ahead in the all-time winning %. Your undying efforts are appreciated. |
8 years 20 weeks ago | Going, Going, Gone |
Let's count the reasons - His favorite coach is getting fired so it would be rebuilding under a new system. - If you assume that all of the Lineman playing this year were the best of the roster, he would be in for another year of getting his brains beat in with shitty O Line. (BTW - Sam Young is beyond awful - How did this guy ever get 5 stars in HS. I think my 94 year old grandfather can move quicker than this guy. Zero chance of success at OT in the NFL. Better learn guard quick) - Golden Tate is going bye, bye for the same reasons as Jimmah - I can't see too many QBs being taken ahead of him in the NFL draft so he will be a high draft choice - Last draft before any new collective barganing agreement. I will bet my life that they will be NBA type salary structure for draft choices. Would anyone with an IQ above the temperature of frozen water stay in this situation. |
8 years 21 weeks ago | If he is 1/4 the player Wes Welker is: |
WOW, it will be fun to watch for 4 years in Maize and Blue since Welker is amazing. (Can't believe what Miami did not see in him and thankful that he is with my beloved Patriots) I am hoping and will be happy is Drew is someone who can add depth, push people everyday in practice and challenge for playing time by his red-shirt sophomore or junior seasons. |
8 years 21 weeks ago | Count me in the for the clock stopping for every first down |
Absolutely hate this college football rule. Why bother giving a team time-outs at that point since every team can easily go down the field in less than 2 minutes due to all of the clock stoppages I also hate the replay at the discretion of the officials. I prefer the NFL rule where if the coach really feels a challenge is warranted, challenge the play and you can only due this twice. I hate how some plays get replayed, but others which should do not. Also, I thought the point was that offense could snap the ball quickly if they thought they got away with one. Now the officials hold up play until they make a decision about going to replay. Both of these rules make college so choppy in my opinion |
8 years 21 weeks ago | Give everything you have every single day in everything you do! |
Remember these seasons in everything you do! Michigan players have always given every drop of their blood, sweat and tears to the tradition of Michigan Football. Use any pain as motivation that you are going to show the world that Michigan is truly the "Leaders and Best". Michigan doesn't quit and the maize and blue colors don't run! |

8 years 22 weeks ago | Sharp is a columinst - This is what they are paid to do |
It's his point to stir the point and bring up subjective opinions. He isn't a reporter, this is what columnists do for a living. They are paid to write an opinion hoping to generate interest/arguments in the paper so people continue to buy the paper to see what the columnist is going to say next. Look at how many posts have been applied to this topic. I would say he has done his job pretty well since some of us are so mad we are picking on his heart condition as a child. Everyone knows he is going to blast UM at every opportunity, it has been his MO for years, just ignore it. I personally don't care for his work, but what is the big deal about this. |

8 years 22 weeks ago | Vogrich is the real deal |
I live in IL and went to see Lake Forest play Zion High School (The ZeeBees) last season. Zion had 3 D1 player but Vogrich just killed them with his shooting and smooth play. He just didn't miss from anywhere from what I remember. Kid will be special when it is all said and done |

8 years 22 weeks ago | It's the BTN - Nothing would surprise me! |
Does anything the BTN do strike you as "top shelf". This is like community access TV on steroids. I mean has anyone ever seen a "Texas Pete" wing sauce ad on a real network like CBS, TNT, Spike, etc! Enjoy wisdom from the King |
