The #6 defense in 2006 and the # 2 total defense in 2016. They're both awesome defenses.
I didn't claim they were the Steel Curtain or the '85 Bears.

This year is feeling like 2006 to me. We have an awesome D, have a clunker of a game 2 weeks before The Game (although this one we actually lost, instead of sqeaking by Ball State) and then lose by 3 in a GREAT game in the horseshoe. We are ranked 1 spot out of the BCS/Playoffs. Then we have to sit back and root for someone else to knock-off a team ahead of us (most likely in the PAC-10) to get us into the BCS/Playoffs. I Hope this is where the similarities end.
In 2006, UCLA did this by beating #2 USC (YTUSC), but we end up getting jumped by a team that was previously ranked below us, but won their conference championship game. I just have a bad feeling that CU will beat UW in tonight, and then the B1G winner will inexplicably jump us to get into the playoffs.

Do you realize that if Harbaugh wins 9 more games before the next loss, it will be to State. That would sting...

If it is fanatics.com, they are a real retailer, and actually sell through JC Penney. I fully understand and agree with Brian's desire to keep competitors of his sponsors off of his website, but to claim it isn't legit is incorrect.

I don't care to see them play PSU or Nebraska or any other B1G team. they alrady have a better B1G record than MSU, Rutgers or Purdue, I don't want them to pass poor Illinois and Maryland too.

I'm not saying I don't believe you...but I didn't see anyone in a banana hamock on the Michigan sideline during the game.
Seriously though, thanks for the update, I had asked that question in another thread and never got an answer. glad to hear he appeared to be able to play if needed.

Not to hijack this discussion, as I love the write-up and watching the play in the video clipped (he had a similar block 2 or 3 plays earlier in the video as well, same DE and same LB).
In the video at 4:37, during the Thomas interception, you can see Tyree Kinnel hobble off the field after the play. I didn't remember seeing him get injured during the game, but it appears it is an ankle, knee or hamstring as he is running towards the play, pulls up and just sort of falls out of bounds. Does anyone remember this injury, and if he was in the game after this play?

I don't want this to come off in any way misogynistic, but I thought Sarah is pregnant, and it looks like a glass of wine next to her water glass? Am I misremembering her pregnancy?

Coudn't the TE and inside play-side WR switch on/off LOS, keep the same blocking assignments and have a flare/bubble screen setup as a built-in counter? A hard charging Hill will have to commit to one side of the block on Lewis, and the WR (now a slot) could read that fairly easily. With Peppers heading to the mesh point at the snap, he wouldn't be able to defend it (well, maybe HE would), and the WR would then be one-on-one with the FS downfield. I understand this play is from Rutgers, and they likely don't have the personnel (QB) to make the 2 quick reads required, but I would bet Braxton Miller can.
That being said, I doubt a similar situation would be defeneded the exact same way again (Don Brown = Mad Scientist), but I wouldn't doubt we see some trickeration with an inverted veer in Columbus.

CAREER touchdown passes - really doesn't matter that he did it against Rutgers.

Are you sure you aren't thinking about Brendan Gibbons? I do not remembers much booing, if any, from 2003-2006 (maybe during the year of inifite pain???).

|8 weeks 5 days ago||So let me get this straight.||
So let me get this straight. You are shocked that you wish we had a kiccker as good as Garrett Rivas? The same Garrett Rivas who is 1st all-time for career field goals made and 2nd for career field goal percentage at Michigan. He also has 3 of the top 7 seasons for field goals made and 2 of the top ten seasons for field goal percentage. Garrett Rivas was an excellent kicker, and I can't remember anyone giving him shit or being an outlet for fan ire. If you are looking for a kicker who wasn't very good, you made an EXTREMELY poor choice.

I may not understand the scoring for KFaTAotW, but if it is 3 points for first, 2 for second and 1 for third, shouldn't Peppers have six points, not 5?

I think the honorary captain for the PSU game was a donor, I don't remember his name. My seat neighbors' sand I were laughing about jus having to donate money in order to become an honorary captain. I'm thinking about setting up a gofundme page.
|10 weeks 17 hours ago||In this case, it isn't||
In this case, it isn't private medical information being shared. The medical staff are just connected to the program enough to know stuff like this, and even though they are obviously MSU fans, let the reason Bullough didn't play be known. The person I am connected to will remain anonymous, but they had absolutely nothing to gain by relaying this information. It was transmitted with an air of "dumb jock" behind it, and somewhat befuddled why someone would take the risk of using steroids.
|10 weeks 17 hours ago||I have it on good authority||
I have it on good authority (read: medical staff at MSU) that it was indeed steroids that kept Max Bullough out of their Rose Bowl.

By SFW, I meant that there isn't anything explicit in the picture. Both people are clothed (that can be seen, a car is blocking).

The funniest thing I saw was one of the linked stories at the bottom of the page was titled "butthole eating at Lion's game", and as advertised was a SFW picture of some guys eating someone's (couldn't tell gender) but th in a parking lot while tailgating for a Lion's game.
