Stoney and Wojo?  Sounds…

Stoney and Wojo?  Sounds like the name of an old TV cop show.

I don't doubt that is the…

I don't doubt that is the case, but the rush to be "first" has eroded reporting, not just in these cases.  Nothing is certain until the contract is signed.

He didn't call Warde the…

He didn't call Warde the adult, he called him one of the leaders in the room.  I don't think it was necessarily a shot at Jim or the other ADs.  Michigan won the NC and is the jewel of the Big Ten.  He needs to say "everything's OK" between the conference and Michigan.  Petitti may be an idiot, but I'm sure he's a world class boot licker.

The broader quote relates to the BIG suspending Harbaugh:

"Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel, in a piercing statement following the suspension, called the Big Ten's actions during an NCAA investigation "completely unethical" and "an assault on the rights of everyone."

Petitti said he and Manuel have moved past the friction and even sat next to each other at a dinner the night before Michigan played Alabama in the CFP semifinal at the Rose Bowl. Petitti called Manuel "one of the leaders in our room."

DeBoer is an offensive coach…

DeBoer is an offensive coach, and has been a play caller.  This may be a case of him bringing Sheridan along (mentoring/training) while he still has control of the offense.  Slow transition.  Isn't this what we all said about Campbell and Moore?  DeBoer has success at offensive development, game planning, and turn arounds, so that doesn't seem like a stretch.  I'm sure Alabama fans won't react well, and will get their torches and pitchforks at the first sign of trouble.  That could happen at Michigan as well.

But D line recruiting, talent evaluation, and development have been outstanding the past few years. Not sure about an "upgrade", but holding at the same level would be a win.

I feel that he's an alumnus…

I feel that he's an alumnus and the greatest coach in Michigan football history, and thus earned the right to rock a Michigan hat anytime he damn well pleases. The man has given more to the football program that just about anyone on this blog (with the exception of any former players posting or browsing).

Seriously?  You're stating…

Seriously?  You're stating that Harbaugh brought Moore in, promoted him on the staff, made him the acting HC for 3 big games, lobbied for him to be the next HC, just to set him up for failure?  That's one long con!

"Winners win, losers lose…

"Winners win, losers lose...see ya."  What a signoff with a couple of buckeyes.

After what Jim Harbaugh…

After what Jim Harbaugh pulled ...you mean beating Day and OSU 3 consecutive years, winning a national championship, leaving a stacked defense, etc?

That dirty SOB! Thanks for… That dirty SOB! Thanks for the info!
Over Jim?  This attitude by…

Over Jim?  This attitude by some is almost laughable (well, maybe not almost).  Harbaugh brought us three of the best years in Michigan football history, with the national championship at the end of this season.  He has earned a spot at the top of the mountain that is Michigan football.  And, he started with a team at the bottom. No culture, no will, no desire.  Michigan was competitive in year one, had a terrible COVID year, and came back with a vengeance.  People don't like when coaches leave, I get that.  Jim thought it was time, and apparently some other coaches did too.  People leave places.  It happens.  Doesn't diminish my view at all of coach or the past several years of blissful football.

Bullocks. You want the job? …

Bollocks. You want the job?  Then do it!  There is no "you did me dirty!". Get real and build the program. If Coach Moore is the man, then go on and do it. This isn't a monarchy, it's a meritocracy. I think he'll flourish on his own.

Honestly, there is already a…

Honestly, there is already a drunk idiot or two near many of us at Michigan Stadium on gameday.  I don't know that we'll notice the difference.

Harbaugh is responsible for…

Harbaugh is responsible for building the team, developing the coaching staff, recruits, culture, etc.  Team 144 was his team, and the guys were playing for him.  Moore was coaching for him in the final 3 games, and said as much.

McCarthy meant as much to this time as the guys you mentioned - probably more than Donovan, given his contributions throughout the year.  Dude played on one leg for the Maryland game and was injured for OSU.  Likely don't win either game with Orji or one of the other backup QBs.

Perhaps indicative that many…

Perhaps indicative that many of the key positions will be internal promotions (OC, DC, ST, etc.).  New position coaches may be outside hires, but those could take a little more time.  Just a WAG.

The Michigan Wolverines Are National Champions

This is Sherrone's team now…

This is Sherrone's team now.  He needs to build his staff and make the right hires.  I'm sure he didn't expect to retain the entire staff, so he should not be surprised at a few departures.  That is part of the job and I'm sure he'll do well.

I've heard that from Sam…

I've heard that from Sam Webb and it has been echoed on this board - "S&C coaches aren't critical in the NFL" or at the least aren't very important members of the staff.  Serious question - is that actually true?  Seems to be said by people who argue that Herbert is wrong to leave or would be making a bad decision if he left, but I have no idea if that's actually the case.  Just saw an article about the Steelers S&C coach leaving after 23 years.  They've been a very good team for that time period, no doubt he had an impact.

Lions can't draft JJ…

Lions can't draft JJ. Clearly the need is on D.

NFC championship on the road…

NFC championship on the road. Don't take the points to go back up by 17... dropped pass...turnover on downs. 4th down...can kick for the tie...goes for it... turnover on downs. At what point does one learn?

PSU was a good win, although…

PSU was a good win, although no offense was schemed up. Massive o line and running the ball. Maryland was a bit too close. Minter is the reason for the OSU win. The offense seemed to go to sleep for 2 quarters every big game. All 3 games that Moore won, Harbaugh was still coaching and game planning all week. If Moore is the pick, I hope he's successful. Maybe recruiting will pick up if the coach isn't interviewing with the NFL every year.

I don't know what Harbaugh…

I don't know what Harbaugh is going to do, but I don't think he's breaking any news with that comment.  Seems like he means passing the torch to Team 145 - every year in college football is a new team with players leaving and freshmen and transfers entering.  He says at the beginning of the interview "...back to work, getting ready for next season."

This was a new Twitter post…

This was a new Twitter post by JUB, but he's not providing an update. He's been saying this or something like this for quite some time, but never defines the ""bear hug*, "love", or what "wanted" means.  I have no doubt that UM would back up a truck of cash to keep Harbaugh. I'm sure the university has shown that they "want" him. What are we talking about?  I assume there are some contract stipulations that Harbaugh is waiting on, but the vague "wants to feel wanted" seems like an emotional set up. If.he leaves and surrogates say he "didn't feel wanted", that sounds a lot better than "he didn't get the contractual non monetary items he wanted,"

Our buddy Finebaum said that…

Our buddy Finebaum said that Saban might retire after he lost the Rose Bowl (said he "wouldn't be surprised, and was laughed off the set at ESPN).  He stated that Saban hates the portal and hates NIL.  Of course he does...I wonder why.
